Abstract

The Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) is a province in Java with the highest poverty rate from 2012-2022, which is supported by the high Human Development Index (HDI) and the low unemployment rate with the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) indicator. This study aims to determine the effect of HDI and TPT on the poverty rate in DIY, and also to find out the actual conditions in DIY Province by using the granger causality test method, panel data regression analysis and descriptive analysis. With this method, it results that there is no causality relationship between variables. For panel data regression analysis, the best model is Random Effect Model (REM) with the result that HDI has a negative and significant effect and unemployment rate has a positive and significant effect on poverty rate. Meanwhile, the actual condition of DIY is that the poverty rate in DIY is not like the statistical calculation of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), because BPS statistical indicators cannot explain the poverty rate in DIY Province. The high poverty rate in DIY based on BPS is due to unique consumption patterns and is supported by the socio-cultural conditions that exist there.

Abstract

The pattern of human’s behavior in using electronic services to acquire various kinds of information is affected by the rapid technological advancement. This is beneficial for, particularly banking, industries, as evidenced by the fact that banks nowadays come up with cutting-edge services such as internet banking and mobile banking. The sample of this quantitative descriptive research was selected using non-probability sampling, while the data was examined using factor analysis in SPSS version 15.0 of 2023. The result of the F test (simultaneous) is 56.554, which is greater than the F table of 2.699, and therefore H0 is rejected, and H1 is accepted. As the significance value of 0.000 is smaller than 0.05, internet banking, mobile banking, and ATM facilities simultaneously have a significant effect on the satisfaction of customers at the sub-branch office of Bank BTN in Tulungagung. Despite the positive and significant effect of the three variables, mobile banking is more preferable for some customer groups. In addition to its practicality, the service is helpful when they are in a difficult condition. In the future, the bank will develop a service where facilities in the internet banking will be integrated into its mobile banking application for greater customer benefit and ease

Abstract

Environmental problems include climate change, and an increase in the frequency of natural disasters have become widespread phenomena. These harmful trends have been aided by the absence of environmental considerations in banking operations. The idea of "Green Banking" aims to lower carbon emissions both inside and outside of banks. This research aims to analyze the impact of implementing Green Banking on the profitability of banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2018-2022. Green Banking is measured using the Green Banking Disclosure Index (GBDI), along with M-Banking Transaction Frequency, Bank Efficiency, and CSR Funds as independent variables. Profitability is projected through the Return on Assets (ROA) as the dependent variable. This research found that partially, CSR funds have a positive and significant influence on ROA (Return on Assets). However, factors like GBDI, M-Banking transaction frequency, and bank efficiency have a negative and significant influence on ROA. Tested simultaneously, the implementation of green banking, including GBDI, M-Banking transaction frequency, bank efficiency, and CSR funds, has a positive and significant effect on profitability.

Abstract

There are external (macro) factors such as monetary and fiscal policies that companies can’t control. The rise in interest rates, the depreciation of exchange rates, and the inflation would cause high fluctuations in capital markets. This research aims to analyze the impact of interest rates, Rupiah exchange rate risk against the Dollar, and inflation rates on Composite Index. The approach used is a quantitative approach with the Error Correction Model (ECM) analysis method during the period 2017 – 2022. Independent variables include The Fed's interest rate risk, inflation risk, and Rupiah exchange rate risk, while the dependent variable is stock prices. The research results show that the risk of the Fed interest rate and the risk of the Rupiah exchange rate against the Dollar had a negative and significant effect, while inflation risk had no significant effect on the Composite Index.  This research is expected to provide benefits for investors, policy makers, stock regulators, and readers to see the analysis of changes in stock prices due to changes in macroeconomic variables.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a dependent relationship between the variables of financial literacy, trust and profit sharing on saving decisions. The number of respondents to the study was 100 traders from the Pasar Besar City of Malang, East Java, using a quantitative methodology. According to the results of research that has been done, there is a positive relationship between financial literacy, trust and profit sharing on saving decisions. . Of all the independent variables, those that have the greatest influence start from the trust variable of 0.630, the profit sharing variable of 0.366, and the financial literacy variable of 0.278. Thus this study suggests that the government and Islamic savings and loan cooperatives can increase socialization regarding the benefits of using savings products, as well as improve the quality and distribution of Islamic savings and loan cooperatives so as to increase public trust and interest in saving.

Abstract

Despite the industrial sector's critical role in Indonesia's economy, many workers remain trapped in low-welfare categories, influenced by factors such as insufficient access to digital resources, urban-rural disparities, and persistent gender and marital status inequalities. Understanding the determinants of labor welfare in this sector is essential to effectively addressing these disparities. This research examines labor welfare in Indonesia's industrial sector and identifies the key determinants by analyzing individual characteristics. The study uses generalized ordered logit, categorizing three welfare groups: those who are poor and earn below the minimum wage, those who are not poor but earn below the minimum wage, and those who are not poor and earn above the minimum wage. Data from the Survei Sosial Ekonomi Nasional (SUSENAS) provides a comprehensive foundation for the analysis. The findings reveal that internet utilization, urban residency, and age significantly increase the likelihood of being in the highest welfare category, with internet users, urban dwellers, and older workers having higher probabilities of better welfare outcomes. Gender also plays a role, as men are more likely than women to be in the higher welfare categories. Married individuals, conversely, have lower odds of being in higher welfare categories, while education shows no significant impact on welfare status. These findings suggest that enhancing internet access and digital inclusion across the workforce could significantly improve labor welfare, particularly for industrial workers. Additionally, targeted policies addressing the unique challenges of married workers and promoting regional economic equity could ensure broader and more inclusive improvements in worker well-being.
