Abstract

Guna mewujudkan visi FKIP Universitas Mataram: Menjadi LPTK berkualitas dan berdaya saing internasional berbasis riset tahun 2025, diperlukan pengembangan riset yang mendukung pembelajaran berkualitas dan pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, dan seni. Isu-isu strategis nasional hendaknya menjadi bahan perhatian dosen dalam topik penelitiannya. Jika dikaitkan dengan Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB), terdapat isu strategis yang dapat dijadikan topik penelitian, yaitu tentang pengembangan Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus (KEK) Mandalika, yang dapat dipotret dari banyak sudat pandang sesuai bidang keilmuan dosen di lingkungan FKIP Universitas Mataram. Selama ini pengembangan riset di FKIP Universitas Mataram sudah berjalan dengan baik. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan meningkatnya jumlah judul yang diterima di hibah kompetitif internal (PNBP) Universitas Mataram. Namun, selama ini juga belum ada catatan ataupun rekaman mengenai kecenderungan riset dosen terhahadap isu-isu strategis nasional. Padahal, hasil dari penelitian tersebut dapat menjadi bahan perbaikan kualitas pendidikan di Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) maupun pencapaian visi lembaga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan kecenderungan riset dosen terhahadap isu-isu strategis nasional pada penelitian dua tahun terakhir yang hasilnya akan dilaporkan kepada pimpinan lembaga sebagai dasar pengambilan kebijakan. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif. Alur penelitian melalui tahap pra lapangan, lapangan dan pasca lapangan. Lokasi penelitian di FKIP Universitas Mataram. Sumber data primer yaitu dosen pada Fakultas Keguruan Dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP) yang mengajukan penelitian PNBP tahun 2020 dan 2021 yang tersebar di empat jurusan, yaitu Jurusan Ilmu Pendidikan, Jurusan MIPA, Jurusan Bahasa dan Seni serta Jurusan IPS. Sumber data sekunder yaitu laporan dan artikel hasil penelitian PNBP tahun 2020 dan 2021. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan pengumpulan data, kondensasi data, display data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Uji keabsahan data menggunakan trianggulasi metode dan sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mayoritas dosen FKIP Universitas Mataram tahun 2020 dan 2021 sudah melaksanakan penelitian berdasarkan bidang penelitian yang sudah ditetapkan oleh universitas. Terjadi peningkatan jumlah kesesuaian penelitian dosen FKIP Universitas Mataram dengan bidang Pendidikan, social, ekonomi, hukum dan humaniora antara tahun 2020 (94,32%) dan 2021 (98,25%). Sub topik di dalam bidang Pendidikan, social, ekonomi, hukum dan humaniora masih terlalu sempit sehingga dosen kesulitan dalam menyesuaikan dengan sub topik tersebut. Tidak ada dosen FKIP Universitas Mataram yang meneliti pada bidang ekonomi dan hukum pada tahun 2020 dan 2021, meskipun ada program studi yang bersinggungan. Terdapat dosen FKIP Universitas Mataram yang meneliti di luar bidang Pendidikan, social, ekonomi, hukum dan humaniora, baik di tahun 2020 maupun 2021.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas pelaksanaan pelatihan kemampuan menulis guru dan siswa dalam rangka menghadirkan budaya literasi sekolah melalui pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Pelatihan kemampuan menulis ini dilakukan di SMPN 12 Mataram, pada 21-22 September 2018. Pengabdian tersebut bisa terlaksana karena sebelumnya Prodi Magister Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia sudah melakukan kerja sama (MoU) dengan SMPN 12 Mataram. Tujuannya adalah untuk melihat sejauh mana perkembangan literasi yang telah dan sedang dilakukan oleh sekolah tersebut serta untuk mengetahui hal-hal apa saja yang perlu ditingkatkan guna menghadirkan budaya literasi di sekolah, khususnya di SMPN 12 Mataram. Ditemukan bahwa semangat literasi sudah ada di sekolah tersebut, hanya saja proses pembudayaannya masih perlu dihadirkan atau didorong secara reguler dan terencana. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian semacam ini dipandang perlu. Dikatakan demikian karena dengan cara inilah tahap penumbuhan budaya literasi bisa dimulai. Seperti ditemukan dalam pengabdian tersebut, semua narasumber dan peserta bersepakat bahwa budaya literasi berangkat dari penumbuhan kesadaran dari semua pihak, terutama pelaku-pelaku literasi yang ada di sekolah tersebut, dan pelatihan semacam itu adalah cara efisien menuju  hal dimaksud.

Abstract

This study examines the figurative language used in Barack Obama’s second inaugural address, focusing on its types, semantic meanings, and pragmatic functions. Taking a qualitative descriptive approach, the research uses Perrine’s classification of figurative language, alongside semantic theory and pragmatic theory as analytical frameworks. Data were taken from the official transcript and video recording of the speech and analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña’s content analysis model. The results revealed 32 figurative expressions, consisting of 13 metaphors, 6 personifications, 6 hyperboles, 5 synecdoches, and 2 symbols. Semantically, these expressions extend literal meanings into richer, more symbolic ones that emphasize themes of equality, unity, and progress. Pragmatically, they inspire, persuade, and unify the audience by presenting complex issues in a clear and emotionally engaging manner. However, as the study is limited to a single speech, the findings cannot fully represent figurative language in political discourse as a whole. Nevertheless, the study shows that figurative language was central to Obama’s rhetorical strategy, functioning not only as a stylistic device but also as a persuasive tool that reinforced shared values and legitimized leadership. Abstract

As time progresses, many literary works have been adapted into films, including animated films that often present moral values. One animated film that portrays moral values is Grave of the Fireflies by Isao Takahata. This study aims to analyze the forms of moral responsibility expressed by the main characters in Grave of the Fireflies. The research employs a qualitative method, using dynamic structuralism theory that examines the interrelationships among the elements of the story as a whole through two types of analysis: intrinsic analysis (characterization of the main characters, plot and conflict) and extrinsic analysis (Japanese cultural values). Furthermore, the analysis is supported by moral responsibility theory to identify and describe the forms of moral responsibility portrayed by the main characters. The results revealed that the main characters moral responsibility in this film is divided into two main forms. The first is Protective and Practical Responsibility, reflected in Seita’s decision to care for and protect his younger sister, Setsuko. The second is Existential Moral Responsibility, evident in his decision to leave his aunt’s house and the moral consequences that arise from his actions. These two forms of responsibility highlight the strong influence of Japanese cultural values (bushidō and giri) that emphasize honor, loyalty, sacrifice, and moral obligation toward the family. These findings highlight that Grave of the Fireflies not only portrays the destructive impact of war but also presents a profound reflection on humanity and moral responsibility within the context of Japanese culture.

Abstract

The cattle farming sector plays a strategic role in improving the rural economy. However, low attention to livestock health is often a major obstacle to increasing cattle productivity. Sengkol Village, Pujut District, Central Lombok Regency, is an area with significant cattle farming potential, but still faces livestock health issues due to a lack of knowledge about health management and disease prevention. This Community Service Program (KKN) aims to increase livestock farmers' understanding and improve the health of their cattle through health education and health injections. The methods used include field observation, livestock health education, and hands-on practice of administering vitamins and deworming to cattle. The results of the activity indicate an increase in livestock farmers' knowledge and awareness of the importance of maintaining livestock health, as well as an improvement in livestock condition, as indicated by increased activity and appetite. This activity is expected to have a sustainable impact on improving the health and productivity of cattle in Sengkol Village.
