Abstract

Excellent human resources in the organization are seen as the principal capital for the company to improve the company’s role, function, and competitiveness in facing developments and changes both internally and externally. Companies with high-stress levels need superior employees that motivated, passionate about work and loyal to the organization. These needs can refer to the characteristics of employees who are engaged with their work. However, there are still many dynamics of psychological constructs that have not been revealed that can increase work engagement. The purpose of this study was to determine whether self-efficacy can be a mediator on the effect of perceived organizational support (POS) on work engagement. The research was conducted through a survey method taken from 103 bank marketing employees. The collected data were analyzed through the structural equation model (SEM) and showed an indirect effect of perceived organizational support on work engagement (ab = 0.13; p≤0.001). This result shows that self-efficacy partially mediates the relationship between perceived organizational support (POS) and work engagement and the research hypothesis is acceptable. Keywords: SEM, work engagement, perceived organizational support, self-efficacy

Abstract

The present study explores teachers' subjective careers in gender, length of service, and employment status. In order to do this, 320 teachers from the islands of Java and Kalimantan participated in a quantitative descriptive study. The data were collected using the Subjective Career Success Inventory (SCSI) and analyzed using SPSS. The result showed that 232 teachers (72.5%) possessed a moderate level of subjective career success. Gender played a significant role in the recognition and influence dimensions. Recognition, influence, quality work, and meaningful work dimensions were all influenced by the length of employment, while employment status plays a role in recognition, quality work, and influence dimensions. Income level and teaching certificate differ in teachers' subjective career success, particularly the influence dimension. Overall gender, length of service, and employment status all played a role in teachers' subjective career success.

Abstract

Teachers hold strategic roles in the education system, and their career success is important to make sure they are strongly motivated at work. The big five personality is one of the personality approaches to form one’s subjective career success. This study aimed to identify the role of each dimension of the big five personality in affecting teachers’ subjective career success in Indonesia. To this end, the subjective career success inventory and personality item pool-big five factor makers were employed. This quantitative correlational study involved 320 teachers as respondents. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression test. The result showed that dimensions of extraversion (p<0.000), agreeableness (p<0.000), and conscientiousness (p<0.001) influence Indonesian teachers’ subjective career success. These three dimensions show that teachers in Indonesia tend to have personalities related to other people’s acceptance or awareness of their social environment to attain subjective career success. Such personalities help them consider their personality and its aspects in evaluating their career.

Abstract

The teacher is one of the determining factors for the success of education, where the view of a teacher's success is the success of his students. However, it was found that the view of teacher success is still from an objective side even though success can be seen by oneself in terms of their career and the external role that contributes to supporting the teacher's career. This study aims to examine the role of perceived organizational support on subjective career success in teachers. The method in this study was quantitative with a sample of 320 teachers with the characteristics listed in Law no. 14 of 2015 using an accidental sampling technique. Data collection using the measurement tool used is the Survey Perceived Organizational Support (SPOS) scale and the Subjective Career Success Inventory (SCSI) scale. The research hypothesis was tested using a simple regression data analysis technique. The results of this study show the role of perceived organizational support on subjective career success with a p value 0.001. Then there is the role of perceived organizational support on the eight dimensions of subjective career success with a significance value of each p 0.001. That is, there is a role of perceived organizational support and subjective career success as a whole and per dimension. It is hoped that this research will be a consideration for schools to support teachers in order to increase their subjective career success.

Abstract

A mother who decides to work often experiences role conflict because she cannot divide her time to carry out her roles, both as a mother and worker, which can cause stress and low life satisfaction. This has an impact on her subjective well-being. Subjective well-being is a person’s evaluation of their life, including life satisfaction, experienced emotions, and fulfillment. The social support of a spouse or husband is one of the variables that influence it. Therefore, this study aims to determine how much influence the husband’s support has on the subjective well-being of working mothers. This study uses a quantitative design with a simple regression analysis calculation method. The number of samples in this study was 140 participants who were actively involved, obtained through the purposive sampling technique. The scale used to measure the husband’s support was Receipt of Spousal Support Items, while the scale to measure subjective well-being used the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) and Positive Affect Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS). This study shows that there is an influence of the husband’s support on the 3 aspects of subjective well-being in working mothers with the value of p < 0.01. p (1, 138) = 64.11, F = 0,317, 2R < 0.01 The husband’s support also explained a significant proportion of the variation in positive aspect scores, (138) = 0.027, t= 0.217 p < 0.01. p (1, 138) = 52.71, F = 0,276, R2 < 0.01 The husband’s also explained a significant proportion of the variation in positive affect scores, (138) = 0.038, t= .278. p < 0.01. p (1, 138) = 71.10, F = 3,40, R2 < .01. The husband’s also explained a significant proportion of the variation in negative affect scores, (138) = 0.042, t = 0.-353. The implication of the findings of this study is that the husband’s support is able to balance emotions in a working mother so as to create satisfaction in life, which is an aspect of forming subjective well-being.
