Abstract

Abstract. Listening is a receptive language competence named as the beginning of the catching on information, and it will be helpfully on the ideas developing. This study is a classroom action research (CAR) and aimed at German listening competence increase of students by implementing the NURS teaching model. NURS is an abbreviation of Nature, Unique, Relevant, and Situational. It is a didactic, constructively, metacognitive, humanly, intercultural, instructional, and technological-based learning procedure. Kemmis and Taggar model consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection for every cycle, was utilized to implement this CAR in the German educational department at the Faculty of Language and Literature 25 students in the second semester as the research sample with two circles. The syllabus, teaching plan, student activity sheet, and listening formative test were implemented as the research instrument. The data analyzed by using percentage techniques. The result shows that the average student's German listening competence in the first cycle is 46. After they learned in the second, they could not be in minimum score standard 75 because their average score is 61. Their competence percentage increased by 35.16% to 81.16. Another important thing about using the NURS teaching model on learning German is the positive effect on the teacher's teaching skills, like management of teaching, time, and how to make students more enthusiastic during the learning process. It can be concluded that the NURS teaching model can improve the student's German listening competence in the German educational department at the Faculty of Language and Literature of Makassar State University. Keywords: Classroom Action Research, NURS Teaching Model, German, Listening Competence

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study is to develop an foreign language teaching material based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and to investigate the impacts of the implementation of the teaching material in increasing students’ literacy skill. This study used research and development approach by adopting ADDIE model which consisted of 5 steps (Analyze-Design-Develop-Implement-Evaluate). The participants of the study were 25 students who took General Writing and Reading course in the English Literature study program in the fifth semester. An assent form was given to all the participants. Data were collected by using study test results, scale and interview. The data of the study were 1) the results of validation test from five expert validators regarding the teaching material being developed, 2) the results of students’ study test comprised of writing and reading tests, and 3) qualitative data regarding students’ responses to the teaching material being developed. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics were used to make categorization of pre-test and post-test scores, while inferential statistics were used to analyze the paired sample t-test to know if there was a significant difference between pre-test and post-test. The results of the study showed that the implementation of HOTS-based teaching material being developed had positive impacts significantly on the improvement of students’ literacy skill, which were in this regard the results of learning General Writing and Reading course. Students responded favorably to the implementation of the teaching material because it allowed them to think critically and creatively. Keywords: Teaching material, Foreign language teaching, Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), Studens’ literacy skill.

Abstract

Tujuan dari pelatihan ini ialah untuk meningkatkan  pemahaman pengelola jurnal terkait cara mengelola jurnal khususnya terkait indeksasi nasional dan internasional, serta meningkatkan kemampuan (skill) pengelola jurnal terkait cara mengelola jurnal khususnya terkait indeksasi nasional dan internasional. Berdasarkan hasil analisis respon peserta pelatihan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan pengelolaan jurnal ilmiah yang dilakukan sangat bermanfaat dalam meningkatkan kualitas pengelolaan jurnal ilmiah dalam lingkup Universitas Negeri Makassar. Hal tersebut tentunya akan berdampak positif secara langsung pada peningkatan akreditasi jurnal ilmiah tersebut. Selain itu, berdasarkan respon peserta selama pelatihan dan pendampingan dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan kualitas pengelola jurnal ilmiah merupakan salah satu kompenen dasar yang sangat mempengaruhi kualitas jurnal yang diterbitkan. Pengelola jurnal yang tidak dibekali dengan kemampuan pengelolaan jurnal yang baik tentunya tidak akan mampu melakukan proses manajemen jurnal yang baik.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to obtain data and information about students' speaking skills using the Field Trip method. The purpose of this study was to obtain data and information about students' speaking skills using the Field Trip method. This study uses a true experimental design. Data were analyzed by inferential statistical analysis with t-test. The population of this study were students of class XI MAN 1 Makassar which consisted of six classes of 150 students. The Samples was 40 students, namely 20 students of class XI MIA 1 as the experimental class and 20 students of class XI MIA 3 as the control class. The sample used is a random sampling. The results of data analysis showed t count 3.8 > t table 2.03 at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the use of the Field Trip method was effective in speaking skills of class XI students of MAN 1 Makassar.

Abstract

Abstract. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of two cycles. This study aims to determine the planning, process, and results of the Hallo aus Berlin video learning media in improving the German speaking skills of students in class XI MIA 5 SMA Negeri 9 Makassar. The data of this study consisted of quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data was obtained through the results of the speaking skills test in cycle I and cycle II and qualitative data was obtained through observation. The data were analyzed using the percentage technique. The results showed that the average score obtained by students in the first cycle reached 70% and the second cycle reached 83%. These results indicate that the use of video learning media Hallo aus Berlin improves the German speaking skills of students in class XI MIA 5 SMA Negeri 9 Makassar.Keywords: Video Hallo aus Berlin, Speech Skills, German

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the Metaverse Augmented Reality media on the mastery of German vocabulary in class XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Pangkep. This research is a quasi-experimental with a pre and post-test control group design. The sample for this research consisted of class XI MIPA 5 students as the experimental class (24 students) and class XI MIPA 4 students (24 students) as the control class, selected using simple random sampling. Data were analyzed using t-test. The results of data analysis using the independent sample t-test showed a tcount value of 5.072 and a ttable value of 2.012 with a significance level of 0.05 and a df of 46. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. From the results of the study, it was concluded that the use of the Metaverse Augmented Reality media was considered effective on the mastery of German vocabulary for class XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Pangkep. Keywords: Media, Metaverse Augmented Reality, Vocabulary Mastery

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to describe the intrinsic elements in the form of themes, plots, settings, characters, points of view and moral messages in the fairy tale “Hans im Glück” by Brüder Grimm. The research data were taken from the book collection of Brüder Grimm's fairy tales. Data were analyzed based on a qualitative approach with content analysis techniques. The results of the research are as follows, a description of the theme elements: happiness, plot elements: forward plot, background elements: rural setting and summer time, character elements: main and additional characters, point of view elements: using third person point of view called the author's narrator (Auktorialer Erzähler), the element of the moral message: always think positive. The interrelationships between the intrinsic elements of fairy tales include themes, plots, settings, characters, points of view, and moral messages showing a structure that influences each other and cannot be separated. Keywords: intrinsic elements, fairy tales, content analysis.
