Abstract

This study examines the role of public relation  in improving Public Services-based blueprint in Makassar State University. This study aims to investigate the role of public relations in improving public services based on the blueprint of the State University of Makassar. This study employed a descriptive quantitative research method. The data were collected from civil servants, journalists and students. In this study, the author utilized a purposive sampling technique with 60 respondents involved in the survey. The participants consisted of 20 civil servants, 20 journalists, and 20 students. The data analysis technique employed descriptive statistic al analysis using presentations. The results showed the role of public relations in improving public services based on blueprints. The indicators of the capacity of public relations were rated B (Good) with a percentage of 56%. This shows that the public relations were able to manage information, data, documentation and publications. However, it still needs to improve the public relation personnel in accordance with the background of public relations and resource development in order to manage public relations. The indicators of mainstream of public information rated B (good) with a percentage of 72%. This suggests that the availability of access to information on public relations is good and the public can access information according to their needs, indicators for reinforcing institutional public relations, its role assessed as fair with a percentage of 48%. The results showed that the importance of managing public relations in order to create better public services.

Abstract

The method as one of the important components in the learning process needs to be better understood, because the success or failure of a learning goal depends on the type and application of the chosen method. This paper presents five types of methods that are commonly understood in learning German as a foreign language (Deutsch als Fremdsprache), namely: Grammatik-Übersetzungsmethode, direkte Methode, Audio-linguale Methode, Kommunikative Methode, interkulturelle Ansatz. These five types of methods are presented chronically to describe the process of developing the foreign (German) language learning method.

Abstract

Arbeit, as one of the themes of culture is considered relevant and representative in the study of foreign literatures. Three german novels that were written in the second decade after reunification (2000–2010) and that have Arbeit as their main theme were selected as the material object of this research: Das Jahr der Wunder by Reiner Merkel (2001), Wir schlafen nicht by Kathrin Röggla (2004), and Mobbing by Annette Pehnt (2007). This research's main goal is to obtain a greater understanding of Arbeit as presented in these three novels, and to see how authors have responded to dynamic developments within the workplace in Germany, particularly since reunification. This study utilized a perspective of sociology of literature by summarizing various theories that mainly related to the conception Arbeit to become a major foothold in elucidating various aspects based on the objectives of this study.This research shows that, Normal workplace relations have slowly shifted to anomalous workplace relations, and as a result workers have lost an ever increasing number of rights. Workers have been consciously exploited within the workplace, and the social inequalities within the workforce have challenged not only workers' dignity, but also their very existence. As such, the three writers discussed here have promoted a more humanized Arbeit—one which recognizes human dignity as central to its conceptual framework—for modern society.

Abstract

Simultaneous post-reunification with the presence of the New Economy era has brought Germany entered a new phase, especially in the economic field (read: Arbeit). The manufacturing sector which previously controlled the labor market in Germany has been shifted by the services sector (Dienstsleistungsbereiche). Utilization of the latest technology and the power of innovation become key to success. This had an impact on the changing structure of work world (Strukturwandel der Arbeitswelt) in Germany. In this era, Arbeit has been transformed into "charm" (Fetisch)  in the community. Each individual -even who had higher education qualifications- cannot escape the Arbeit problem. Those who lost Arbeit would feel outcast and marginalized, whereas those who worked would be imprisoned in their work. Reality and the dilemma were captured in the novel Das Jahr der Wunder by Reiner Merkel (2001), wir nicht schlafen Kathrin by Röggla (2004), and Mobbing by Annette Pehnt (2007) as corpus research. Thus, the Arbeit conception that has been considered established in a modern country such as Germany is still questioned. So, how about the actual Arbeit construction that is readable in all three of the novel as a form of intrinsic relationship between literature and their communities in the form of negation, innovation and affirmation.

Abstract

Level B1-German Language Training for IGBJI (Association of German Language Teachers in Makassar). The training aims to provide German Language Teachers with knowledge and understanding of Gemeinsamer europäischer Referenzrahmen für Sprachen as a foothold in international level  mastery and German language test models at level B1. This training is very important to be carried out because the teacher as instructor must know about how the German language test models in B1 level so that they can inform their students. The subjects in this study were German language teachers who were members of the Makassar Branch of the German Language Teachers Association (IGBJI). The training was held from 6 July to 20 July 2019 with the implementation methods namely counseling, training, discussion and simulation. The German language training level B1 for German language teachers was carried out as planned and the results achieved in the community partnership program activities could be categorized as quite adequate. Community service activities are categorized as more than sufficient (70%) because they are judged by the activity of participants participating in the presentation of generally motivated material.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengelolaan layanan ekstrakurikuler. Pendekatan yang digunakan pendekatan kualitatif jenis penelitian deskriptif. Metode pengumpulan data wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan kondensasi data, penyajian data, penyimpulan/verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan ekstrakurikuler melalui rapat kerja, program kerja berupa silabus dibuat oleh pengajar/pembina, ketentuan dibentuknya ekstrakurikuler berdasarkan hasil rapat membahas jenis kegiatan yang akan dijalankan disesuaikan kebutuhan peserta didik, tidak ada kriteria khusus pembentukan pengurus tetapi dibebankan kepada guru yang mempunyai kapabilitas dan mampu mengatur ekstrakurikuler dengan baik, untuk pengajar/pembina merupakan guru dari luar sekolah, sapras sudah dipersiapkan oleh pihak sekolah. Pelaksanaan ekstrakurikuler sebagaimana sudah dijadwalkan dilaksanakan diluar jam pelajaran. Pemantauan kegiatan dilakukan oleh penanggungjawab dengan tetap dibawah koordinasi kepala sekolah dan kepala urusan kesiswaan. Masalah yang ditemukan dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan diselesaikan/dicarikan solusi secara musyawarah. Pengevaluasian ekstrakurikuler dilaksanakan setiap akhir semester dilakukan oleh penanggungjawab ekstrakurikuler sesuai dengan indikator pengevaluasiannya yakni evaluasi jenis kegiatan, evaluasi pengajar/pembina, dan evaluasi peserta didik. Tindak lanjut yang dilakukan adalah apabila ada ekstrakurikuler yang tidak berjalan maka akan diganti dengan ekstrakurikuler lain, pengajar/pembina yang kinerjanya bagus ada perpanjangan kontrak namun sebaliknya akan diberhentikan sesuai dengan masa habis kontraknya kemudian pihak sekolah membuka kembali open recruitment, dan bagi peserta didik sebagai nilai pada rapor.

Abstract

Abstract. This research is a classroom action research that aims to determine the increase in students' German vocabulary mastery by using the Quizlet application. The research subjects were students of class X IPS 1 SMA Kartika XX-1 Makassar, totaling 19 people and carried out in two cycles. The data in this study consisted of qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data was obtained through observation and quantitative data through vocabulary tests (multiple choice, true-false, and matchmaking). The results of data analysis showed that the scores obtained by students on the German vocabulary proficiency test were 70.31% in the first cycle and 96.42% in the second cycle. This shows that the use of Quizlet can improve the vocabulary mastery of X IPS 1 students at SMA Kartika XX-1 Makassar.Keyword: Quizlet, Vocabulary, German

Abstract

Abstract. This research is descriptive quantitative which aims to determine the ability and factors that influence listening to the drama "die Räuber" by Friedrich Schiller of 11th grade students of Islamic High School 1 Makassar. The population of this research 11th grade students “Math and Sciense Major (MIA) 5 of Islamic High School 1 Makassar with the total of 40 students. The sample of this research is 40 students obtained using Total Sampling. The data of this research was obtained through a listening test for the drama "die Räuber" by Friedrich Schiller and the provision of a questionnaire. The results of the listening test showed an average score of 75.6% and were in the good category. From the results of the distribution of the questionnaire data obtained that there are two factors that play an important role in influencing students' listening skills, namely: 1) Supporting factors, students are interested and enthusiastic in participating in learning to listen to German drama. 2) The inhibiting factor, students get bored easily and lack the potential to listen to German dramas.

Abstract. This research is descriptive quantitative. This research aims to obtain data andinformation about the ability of students in the pronunciation of long and shor vowel sounds in german by students X IPA 4 SMAN 14 Gowa. As well, to obtain about the factors supporting and inhibitig that influence pronunciation of German vowel sounds. The data of this research was obtained through a pronunciation test and  questionnaire. The population of this research by students X IPA 4 class at SMAN 14 Gowa with the total of 36 students. The sampel of this research is 20 students obtained using random technique. The result of the pronunciatin test showed an average score of 64.4 and were in the enaugh category. The data analysis to obtain in the results, namely the abilty to pronunciation vowel sounds in German by students X IPA 4 SMAN 14 Gowa is 64.4 or enaugh category. From the results of the distribution of the questionnaire data obtained that there are two factors that play an important role in influencing students' listening skills, namely: 1) Supporting factors, the teacher corrects the sudent’s pronounciation of vowel sound. 2) The inhibiting factor, students think that German is  difficult.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the planning, process, and results of the Picture and Picture cooperative learning model in the German speaking skills of XI grade students of SMA Negeri 9 Bulukumba. This research is a classroom action research which consists of two cycles. The subjects of this study were students of class XI IBB SMA Negeri 9 Bulukumba, totaling 27 students. This research data consists of two types, namely qualitative data and quantitative data. Qualitative data was obtained through observation, while quantitative data was obtained through speaking skills tests in cycle I and cycle II. The data were analyzed using the percentage technique. The results showed that the students' speaking skills in the first cycle reached 69.25% and increased to 89.03% in the second cycle. These results indicate that the application of the Picture and Picture type cooperative learning model in the German speaking skills of class XI IBB students of SMA Negeri 9 Bulukumba increases.
