Abstract

Infants with LBW are one of the risk factors that have a large enough contribution to perinatal death. LBW babies can experience mental and physical disorders at a later age of development. Many conditions cause babies to be born with low birth weight. The main cause is premature birth, other factors are born to mothers who have health problems during pregnancy (preeclampsia, anemia, malnutrition), birth defects in babies, born to mothers with underweight, mother's age less than 17 years or more from 35 years, multiparous and twin pregnancies. Routine check-ups during pregnancy and meeting the nutritional needs of the mother are the best actions to prevent babies from being born with LBW (Setiaputri, 2021). Data from the Magelang District Health Office for 2021, there were 737 cases of LBW from 16,263 births. The Pakis Health Center is one of the areas that has high LBW cases, namely 44 out of 670 births and experienced an increase in 2022 as many as 52 (7.53%) LBW cases out of 690 birth. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the incidence of LBW in the Working Area of the Pakis Health Center. The method used is quantitative with a retrospective approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with the slovin formula obtained 253 respondents. The analysis used is univariate using frequency distribution and bivariate using Spearman Rank. The results showed that there was a relationship between maternal age (0.001), parity (0.015), gestational age (0.000), ANC visits (0.003), nutritional status (0.000), anemia (0.000) and preeclampsia (0.000) with the incidence of LBW. Health workers are expected to improve early detection through ANC, one of which is by conducting screening so that treatment can be given earlier

Abstract

background: Appendicitis is inflammation caused by bacteria. Various factors that trigger the occurrence of appendicitis are the obstruction of the appendix lumen, lymphoid tissue hyperplasia, appendix tumors, ascaris worms, appendix mucosal erosion, and low-fiber diet which results in the appearance of appendicitis. Appendicitis is one of the most common causes of acute abdominal pain. Handling of appendicitis is by surgical operation of removal of the appendectomy. purpose: the purpose of this study was to determine nursing care in patients with postoperative appendicitis. method: the study uses descriptive methods using care studies through the nursing process approach. results: this study was conducted at Muntilan Publis Hospital in February 2019 in patient Ny. K collection is done by interviews, observation, physical examination, and documentation studies. Based on the study conducted, postoperative pain data obtained with a wound length of 10 cm, leukocytes 13.89 thousand/uL, temperature of 36.3°C. conclusion: in patient Ny. K obtained several nursing diagnoses that appeared, namely acute pain, and risk of infection.

Abstract

Blood pressure is influenced by various factors, including age, sex, and body position during measurement. Variations in body position, particularly the lateral position, may affect hemodynamic status and potentially result in differences in blood pressure values. This quantitative study employed a comparative design to determine differences in systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), and Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) among hypertensive patients measured in the supine, left lateral, and right lateral positions. The study involved 65 respondents selected using non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling technique. The inclusion criteria were male and female patients aged 40–60 years, having both upper limbs intact, and not being ill or experiencing paralysis. The instruments used included a digital sphygmomanometer, a standard operating procedure (SOP) for blood pressure measurement, and an observation sheet. Data were analyzed using the Kruskal–Wallis test and epsilon squared (ɛ²) effect size calculation. The Kruskal–Wallis test showed statistically significant differences in SBP, DBP, and MAP among the three measurement positions (p = 0.000 [<0.001]). The highest mean values of SBP, DBP, and MAP were found in the supine position, while the lowest were observed in the right lateral position. The effect size (ɛ²) was categorized as relatively strong (0.16–0.36). Body position was shown to have a relatively strong influence on blood pressure values in hypertensive patients. These findings highlight the importance of maintaining consistent body positioning during blood pressure measurement to ensure accurate and comparable results.

Abstract

The Correlation Between Students' Self-Confidence and Satisfaction Levels in The Preceptorship Method Abstract Background: Nursing challenge encourage  preceptor to improve the skills, confidence, and critical thinking of nursing students so that students feel satisfied with the method of preceptorship. However, no research has been done to determine the relationship between self-confidence and student’s satisfaction in preceptorship method during clinica l learning practice. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between self-confidence and student satisfaction in the method of preceptorship. Method: An analytic observational with cross sectional design on 50 respondents that consisted of 8 men and 42 women. Results: There is a positive relationship between self-confidence and student satisfaction shown from Spearman Rank correlation analysis that is Spearman's rho = 0.482, significant correlation at level 0.01 level (2-tailed). (p < 0.01). Suggestion: Level of confidence and student satisfaction were required by nurse students as a stock in giving care of nursing therapeutically. Therefore, it is suggested that the preceptorship method should be done in clinical teaching practice.

Abstract

Background: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is a complex global health issue that can lead to serious complications if not managed properly. The role of family members in assisting diabetes patients is crucial for improving treatment adherence and quality of life. However, the willingness of family members to provide such support is often influenced by their level of knowledge regarding the disease. This study aims to determine the relationship between the knowledge level of family members about Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and their willingness to provide assistance to patients. Methods: This study utilized a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The research sample consisted of 66 family members of patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Sumberarum Village, Magelang Regency, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using the Diabetes Knowledge Questionnaire-24 and a questionnaire measuring the level of willingness to provide assistance. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman correlation test. Results: The results of this study indicated that the majority of respondents were aged 25-44 years, male, had a secondary level of education, were employed, and had family members who had suffered from diabetes for more than one year. This study found that the majority had a moderate level of knowledge (62.1%) and a high level of willingness to provide assistance (57.6%). The Spearman correlation test results showed a significant positive relationship between the level of knowledge and the willingness to provide assistance (correlation coefficient = 0.713; p = 0.000). Conclusion: The results of the study indicate a strong relationship between the level of knowledge and the willingness of family members to provide support for diabetes patients. Future research is expected to conduct studies that implement interventions to improve both the knowledge and willingness of family members to assist diabetes patients.
