Abstract

This study aims to (1) analyze the use of job sheets as a source of practical learning in the Mechanical Engineering department, (2) identify constraints to using job sheets as a source of practical learning, (3) assess the extent to which job sheets increase student independence in practical learning, and (4) evaluate the improvement in students' skills resulting from using job sheets. This research is a qualitative study using a case study model. The study was conducted at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo, with teacher and student respondents. Data was collected through interviews and analyzed using Miles and Hubberman's model analysis, which involves four steps: (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data presentation, and (4) drawing conclusions. The study results include an analysis of the use of job sheets as a learning resource, such as the job sheet making process, job sheet definitions, and job sheet implementation within the school curriculum. Constraints to using job sheets during practice were identified, such as the availability of facilities and infrastructure, students' knowledge of machines and equipment, reading and using measuring instruments, and damaged or erroneous machines or job sheets. The study also found an increase in student independence when using job sheets, including improved self-confidence, responsibility, high motivation, and reduced dependence on others. Finally, the study found an improvement in students' skills resulting from using job sheets, including increased knowledge and mastery of machines.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the principal's leadership, work environment, and interpersonal communication on teacher performance at SMK Muhammadiyah Wonosobo Regency.  The methodology in this study uses quantitative methods. The population in this study was 75 teachers using Issac and Michael's table so that the number of samples was obtained as many as 63 people and then determined based on proportional random sampling. This research instrument uses a closed questionnaire based on the Likert scale. Hypothesis testing is performed based on t-test, F-test, and determination coefficient test. The results of the study based on multiple linear regression analysis showed that the principal's leadership, work environment, and interpersonal communication together had a significant and positive effect on teacher performance with an R Square result of 0.460. However, the results of the t-test showed that the principal's leadership had no partial effect on teacher performance. The t-test also showed that the work environment had no significant effect on teacher performance. Partially, only interpersonal communication showed a positive and significant influence on teacher performance

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the subject of Light Vehicle Electrical Maintenance, where 17 out of 20 students in grade XI obtained scores below the minimum completion criteria due to conventional learning dominated by lecture methods. The focus of this research problem is directed at the development and testing of the feasibility of learning media in the form of a starter system stand containing interactive electrical diagrams for students of the Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering Expertise Program at SMK Muhammadiyah Wanareja. The research strategy implemented adopts the Research and Development (R&D) method by implementing the ADDIE development model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and product evaluation. Data collection was carried out through initial observations, filling out expert validation questionnaires, and assessment response sheets from students as respondents. The research findings show that the validation results from the media expert component obtained a classification score of no revision, while the assessment from the material expert aspect fell into the qualification of sufficient. The main conclusion of the study confirms that the use of this starter system demonstration stand has proven effective in significantly improving technical competence, motor activity, and understanding of automotive electrical material for students in field trials with the final result being categorized as no revision.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop an Edmodo-based blended learning model for street vendors in vocational high schools, analyze the feasibility of the model, and test its effectiveness. The study was conducted at SMK Muhammadiyah Sampang, Cilacap Regency, using a research and development (R&D) method based on the ADDIE model. The research design used a one-group pretest-posttest design. The development procedure included analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. In the analysis stage, a student needs survey was conducted, while the design stage was adjusted to the learning needs. The next stage of development included validation by experts on the model and materials, and then the product was revised. Implementation was carried out on 60 students of grade XI in the Light Vehicle Engineering study program. The research results show that Edmodo-based blended learning is suitable as an alternative learning model, particularly to support internship activities. This model can be implemented according to a plan consisting of orientation, organization, investigation, analysis, and evaluation. In terms of effectiveness, student learning outcomes with Edmodo-based blended learning achieved an average of above 80, significantly different from the group not using Edmodo. Furthermore, this model can increase student motivation and learning independence. Based on these findings, the study recommends further development of the Edmodo-based blended learning model as a complement to face-to-face learning, especially in normative and adaptive subjects in vocational high schools.
