Abstract

Waste management aims to protect clean and healthy environment. Handling of waste problems in Blang Krueng area still has many obstacles. Most of the locations of waste disposal in Blang Krueng area do not meet health requirements. People do not yet have waste dumping. This is due to the unavailability of waste transportation facilities. In addition, in order to overcome this waste, people often burn the wastes. However, it can cause air pollution. Thus, this research is expected to optimize waste transportation facilities based on the number of ritations by using waste generation data in the area. The last hope of course the cleanliness  in Blang Krueng area.

Abstract

Work posture analysis needs to be done in order to reduce injuries, Musculoskeletal Disorders are one of the injuries that are often experienced by workers in carrying out Manual Material Handling (MMH) activities, namely injuries to muscles, nerves, tendons, bones, joints, cartilage caused by activities work. The purpose of this study was to measure work posture using the OWAS and REBA methods. These results will be used as a reference to provide recommendations for improving working posture at the Sterilizer station. The results of this study indicate that there is no significant difference in evaluating work posture in assessing work posture with the application of OWAS and REBA methods. Only the final score (grand score) is different, this is because the assessment of the assessment category scores on each work element is different based on the method used. Assessment of posture based on the OWAS and REBA methods provides the same conclusion that the level of risk of musculoskeletal disorders is at a high level. This proves that both relevant methods are used to assess at the sterilization station at PT. Karya Tanah Subur.

Abstract

PT. Beurata Subur Persada adalah perusahaan yang digunakan sebagai objek penelitian. Perusahaan ini bergerak di bidang produksi pengolahan kelapa sawit. Perusaahan ini memiliki beberapa stasiun salah satunya stasiun boiler dimana beroperasi dibagian yang menghasilkan steam. Steam diperoleh dengan memanaskan bejana yang berisi air dengan menggunakan bahan bakar. Proses pemasukan bahan bakar yang dilakukan oleh operator boiler cukup berpotensi timbulnya resiko kerja, proses pemasukan bahan bakar dilakukan menggunakan alat berupa sekrop yang jaraknya terlalu dekat dengan proses pembakaran sehingga dapat membahayakan operator dan timbulnya cidera yang diakibatkan hantaran paparan panas dan percikan api akibat hembusan angin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai kategori beban kerja fisik operator pada proses assembly manual dengan pendekatan fisiologi dimana dilakukan pengukuran denyut nadi pemulihan. Penelitian dilakukan pada bagian boiler yang memiliki 4 operator. Dimana dilakukan pengukuran denyut nadi operator setelah dan sebelum beraktivitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai beban kerja fisik Beban kerja fisik yang dialami oleh seluruh operator berdasarkan perhitungan konsumsi energi berada dalam kategori beban kerja sedang. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan persentase %CVL berada dalam kategori nadi pemulihan tidak normal, beban kerja berlebihan, perlu ada perbaikan.

Abstract

This study aims to identify tannin compounds in the leaves of starfruit (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) and to find out the benefits of starfruit leaves. starfruit leaf extract obtained through starfruit leaves crushed first, then added a solution of methanol and then filtered using filter paper, then extracts of starfruit leaf extract divided into two test tubes, in which one tube is dripped with iron (III) chloride. The results showed that, the color of the wuluh starfruit leaf extract which was originally brownish yellow turned blackish blue. It can be concluded that the starfruit leaves of tannin compounds were identified. Tannin compounds function to bind and precipitate protein. So that in health tannins function to treat diarrhea, treat hemorrhoid, stop inflammation and also can be a natural alternative to cleaning artificial teeth.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the operator's work posture using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method and to determine the level of risk of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MsDs) on the alum filling station operator at PDAM Tirta Meulaboh. Based on the observations made on the operator's activities while working, the operator fills the alum with a bent body position, uses a shovel and lifts it and is done repeatedly. This research is a quantitative descriptive study, with direct observation of the process of filling alum. Data collection is done by taking photos of the operator's activities while doing his job, then determining the angle of the operator's body using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method. The conclusions is that the operator's working posture with REBA method gets a score for element I with a score of 6, element II with a score of 8, and element III with a score of 7 and the level of risk through Action Level. REBA score element I final score (4-7) moderate risk category with required action, element II final score (8-10) high risk category with urgent action required, and element III final score (4-7) moderate risk category with required action.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the community's response to the pandemic and learning practices during the pandemic for the children of rural farmers in South Aceh. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive model. Data obtained from observations, interviews, and relevant literature studies, then analyzed the data, researchers will use interactive analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that 1) The public's perception of risk for a pandemic is low, but the community continues to respond well to this pandemic, namely complying with health protocols by using masks when going out to public places. 2) Learning activities for children from rural farming communities in Kluet Tengah continued as usual. Like other schools that adhere to the education bureaucracy, schools in rural areas also implement health protocols and shorten teaching and learning time in class, even though the community in the school environment considers pandemics to be a natural reality.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respons masyarakat terhadap pandemi dan praktik pembelajaran masa pandemi pada anak petani pedalaman Aceh Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan model deskriptif. Data diperoleh dari hasil observasi, wawancara, dan studi literatur yang relevan, kemudian dianalisis data, peneliti akan menggunakan teknik analisis interaktif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 1) Persepsi risiko masyarakat terhadap pandemi tergolong rendah, namun masyarakat tetap merespons pandemi ini dengan baik yaitu mematuhi protokol kesehatan dengan menggunakan masker ketika keluar menuju ke tempat-tempat umum. 2) Kegiatan pembelajaran anak-anak masyarakat petani pedalaman yang ada di Kluet Tengah berlangsung seperti biasa. Sebagaimana sekolah lainnya yang patuh pada birokrasi pendidikan, maka sekolah di pedalaman juga menerapkan protokol kesehatan dan mempersingkat waktu belajar mengajar di dalam kelas, meskipun masyarakat dilingkungan sekolah tersebut menganggap pandemi sebagai realitas yang biasa.

Abstract

Perusahaan selalu mengutamakan kualitas dan mengoptimalkan jumlah rendemen Crude Palm Oil (CPO), salah satu sistem manajemen yang diterapkan untuk mendapatkan jumlah rendemen optimal adalah menekan terjadinya kehilangan minyak (Oil losses) pada saat proses produksi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui tingkat dan penyebab terjadinya Oil losses pada titik losses di PT. Ujong Neubok Dalam menggunakan metode Statistical Process Control (SPC).Kehilangan minyak (Oil losses) PKS PT Ujong Neubok Dalam biasanya terjadi pada 4 (empat) titik/stasiun yang berperan penting dalam proses pengolahan CPO yaitu: pada stasiun thresher minyak yang terikut janjangan kosong (empty bunch), stasiun press minyak yang terikut pada ampas press (fibre press), stasiun clarification minyak yang ada di pembuangan sludge centrifuge, dan finnal effluen (sisa pembuangan pabrik/limbah). Dari titik lokasi terjadinya Oil losses tersebut, perusahaan memberikan standar atau batasan maksimal kehilangan (Oil losses), fibre press (3,5%), empty bunch (2,5%), sludge centrifuge (1%), dan finnal effluen (0,8%).

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the optimum coagulant that can be used to purify PDAM Tirta Meulaboh water which often has a cloudy color during the rainy season. The coagulants used are PAC and Tawas with the chemical formula Al2(SO4)3 and Poly Aluminum Chloride is known as PAC with the chemical formula Aln(OH)mCl(3n-m). The test was carried out by mixing 10 grams of alum and PAC which were dissolved in 1000 mL of water/aquades each. The treatment was carried out by dissolving each 1 mL in 1000 mL of PDAM water sample equal to 10 ppm. Variations in the addition of PAC/alum to each container were 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 ppm. Furthermore, rapid mixing was carried out at a speed of 100-150 rpm and slow at 20 rpm. The results showed that 10 ppm of PAC added to the sample produced turbidity of 5.2 NTU and pH 7.8, 20 ppm: 4.1 NTU and pH 7.5, 30 ppm: 3.8 NTU pH 7.3, 40 ppm : 2.3 NTU pH 7.2, 50 ppm: 1.5 NTU pH 7.1, 60 ppm: 0.8 NTU and pH 7.0. Samples added with 10 ppm of alum produced turbidity of 5.5 and pH 6.8, 20 ppm: 5.1 pH 6.7, 30 ppm: 4.5 pH 6.6, 40 ppm: 3.2 pH 6.6 , 50 ppm: 4.3 pH 6.4 and 60 ppm: 5.0 pH 6.3. The conclusions from this study indicate that PAC and alum coagulants can affect turbidity and pH levels of water, the optimal addition of PAC coagulant to purify water is 20 ppm, while the optimal addition of alum coagulant to purify water is 30 ppm.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas penggunaan model pembelajaran problem solving terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi larutan penyangga, serta untuk mendeskripsikan gambaran tanggapan peserta didik terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran tersebut. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian true eksperimental dengan desain pretest-posttest control group desain. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua kelas XI MIA di SMAN 7 Banda Aceh tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Sampel diambil dengan teknik simple random sampling. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes pilihan ganda dan respon tanggapan peserta didik. Data dianalisis menggunakan program Microsoft Excel dan uji T (2-pihak). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran problem solving adalah efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar peserta didik dengan hasil persentase pre test, post test dan N-Gain pada kelas eksperimen 38,80%, 82,62 % dan 70,9 % sedangkan kelas kontrol  38,42 %, 75,62 % dan 58,2%. Selain itu, tanggapan yang diberikan peserta didik terhadap model pembelajaran problem solving adalah positif dengan kriteria baik, karena banyaknya peserta didik yang menjawab sangat setuju lebih tinggi persentasenya yaitu 83,33% dan 80,00%, dibandingkan pernyataan setuju, tidak setuju dan sangat tidak setuju. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran dengan model problem solving efektif digunakan untuk dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar peserta didik. Serta tanggapan yang diberikan peserta didik terhadap model pembelajaran problem solving baik.

Abstract

Borax as a food additive chemical is very dangerous. Borax is prohibited from being used in food because it can cause various diseases such as cancer, kidney damage, and even death. This study aims to identify the borax content in the meatballs sold in Meulaboh City. The study design uses purposive sampling with a total of 20 meatball samples from each seller collected and continued by a qualitative test using turmeric paper and shallot extract. The study results show that all samples tested were free of borax. This can be seen from the absence of changes in turmeric paper and shallot extract. Therefore, it can be concluded that the meatballs sold in Meulaboh do not contain borax and are safe to consume.
