Abstract

This study was aimed to develop the preparedness board game for natural disaster. The method used was research and development (R D) with ADDIE model which was included five steps, i.e., (i) Analyses, (ii) Design, (iii) Development, (iv) Implementation, and (v) Evaluation. Samples of this study were students of grade VI in MIN Ulee Kareng, Banda Aceh, Indonesia. The quality of the board game was based on the validation results. The validation aspects included were (i) media format, (ii) visual aspects, (iii) media function, and (iv) the clarity of the concepts. Due to the validation aspects, therefore the validation of developed board game were found to be 97.2; 91.7; 88.9; and 100.9 percents, respectively. The results of this study indicated that developed preparedness board game was worth based characteristics of students. Meanwhile, the average assessment of the feasibility assessment aspects of the media was found to be 94.4 percent, which could be decided to very good. It was concluded that learning media preparedness board game could be used in the learning process in the natural disaster material.

Abstract

Abstract: Integrating education on disaster risk into the national curriculum and providing save school facilities are two priorities which contributes to the development of a country to achieve the Millennium Development Goal. In developing a safety and preparedness culture especially for children and young generation, Disaster Education is required at the level of primary and secondary schools. The objective of this research was to find out and analyze the influence of integrating material related to disaster in to the curriculum on the student’s preparedness for an earthquake and tsunami at elementary and secondary schools in Banda Aceh. The method used in this research was a quantitative research utilized to collect the data related to the influence of integrating material related to disaster and preparedness for the earthquake and tsunami disasters into the curriculum on knowledge, attitude, participation and competence at schools. The data was collected by using a set of questionnaire and in-depth interview to three school principals from SDN 2, SMPN 1 and SMAN 1. The research results showed that the level of preparedness shown by the students of SDN 2, SMPN 1 and SMAN 1. It was evident from the number of respondents with good levels of preparedness at SND 2 (75.4%) and poor level (24.6%), good levels of preparedness at SMP 1 (75.8%) and poor level (24.2%), good levels of preparedness at SMAN 1 (80.0%) and poor level (20.0%). Based on the statistical analysis, it was found the there was a significant influence of knowledge, attitude, participation and competence on the preparedness shown by students at SND 2 (p-value = 0.0001), SMPN 1 (p-value = 0.0001), and SMAN 1 (p-value = 0.0003) in Banda Aceh, meaning that the difference was found in all schools. It is recommended that the government of Banda Aceh, especially the Department of Education, integrate materials related to earthquake and tsunami disasters into the teaching and learning process. It is also suggested that the students and the teachers keep gaining knowledge on earthquake and tsunami disasters and improving students’ preparedness for a disaster. Keywords: integrating material related to disaster, preparedness, earthquake, tsunami

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of guidance groups and self efficacy to students’ knowledge and action of SMPN 8 BandaAceh in facing the earthquake. This study used a quasi-experimental research method approach. Student preparedness data was collected using a questionnaire. The study population was all students of Junior High School 8 (SMP N 8) Banda Aceh, Indonesia. Samples were selected using purposive of class VII-5, as many as 10 students were given guidance group. Data were analyzed using regression analysis. The results showed that the students knowledge and action of SMPN 8 BandaAceh in facing the earthquake can be increased through group counseling and self-efficacy by 1, 041 % . This means that 98. 96 % contributed by other factors . Keywords: Guidance group, self-efficacy, knowledge, action and earthquakes

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the relationship of policies, as well as facilities and infrastructure to the level of community preparedness Disaster Preparedness School (SSB). This study used a descriptive approach-quantitative method. This study was conducted in one school pilot disaster preparedness, which is SDN 2 in Banda Aceh. Its population is a school community that is actively involved in all activities related to Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in school. Data were collected by questionnaire using parameters preparedness. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and correlation tests. The results showed that the level of community preparedness categorized SSB; very prepared for disasters. This is supported by the significant relationship between the parameters of preparedness with DRR programs that have been implemented at the school. From the results of this study concluded that the implementation of DRR related to the level of preparedness of the school community. Keywords: Disaster Risk Reduction , preparedness , school community

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this study to improve the preparedness of students of SMAN 5 Banda Aceh to the earthquake. The methods of research and development (research and development ) was used the model of Dick and Carey. The samples in this study is purposive sampling that class X - 3 as many as 25 students. Data was collected using a questionnaire that aims to look at cognitive, affective and psychomotor students , assessment questionnaire module Earthquake Preparedness (KGB), observation sheets learning process and outcome evaluation of student learning. Data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive analysis. This study resulted in the KGB module. The results of the assessment in the form of modules scored 80. 7. Abstract

Many foods from Indonesia are cooked through the frying process using cooking oil. Good cooking oil is oil that has a low amount of peroxide and acid. The purpose of this study was to find the effect of adding dragon fruit juice (Hylocereus undatus)to peroxide numbers and acid numbers in used cooking oil. Peroxide numbers were measured using the iodometry method, whereas acidic numbers were carried out by the acid-base method. The results of this study indicated that after the addition of dragon fruit juice the peroxide number was dropped to 2.4 meg / kg, whereas in acid numbers an acid number was increased to 6.08 percent.

Abstract

Beberapa faktor penyebab utama timbulnya banyak korban akibat bencana gempa adalah karena kurangnya pengetahuan kepala keluarga tentang bencana dan kurangnya kesiapan kepala keluarga dalam mengantisipasi bencana tersebut. Oleh karena itu, untuk meminimalisir risiko bencana harus menjadi bagian terpadu dengan kepala keluarga. Jenis penelitian berbentuk deskriptif dengan metode penelitian menggunakan sequential exploratory yang bertujuan untuk mendapatkan kajian tentang pengetahuan kepala keluarga dalam menghadapi ancaman bencana gempa bumi. Pengumpulan data telah dilakukan pada bulan Januari sampai bulan Februari 2015 di Kecamatan Baitussalam KabupatenAceh Besar. Cara pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu cluster sampling pada 381 responden kepala keluarga di Kecamatan Baitussalam Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner, pengolahan dan analisis data secara manual dengan menggunakan rumus p = × 100% untuk melihat sejauh mana pengetahuan kepala keluarga dalam menghadapi bencana gempa bumi. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa pengetahuan kepala keluarga dalam menghadapi ancaman bencana gempa bumi di Kecamatan Baitussalam sudah baik, dari 381 responden hanya 46 responden yang masih kurang dalam memahami pengetahuan kebencanaan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara hasil pembuatan mind mapping dengan hasil belajarmahasiswa. Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Kimia IAINAr-Raniry Letting 2010 sebanyak 49 orang mahasiswa, sedangkan yang menjadi sampelnya adalah mahasiswaJurusan Pendidikan Kimia IAIN Ar-Raniry Letting 2010 unit I sebanyak 28 orang mahasiswa. Pengumpulan datadilakukan melalui lembar observasi, tes, angket dan rubrik mind mapping. Data yang diperoleh diolah denganmenggunakan rumus korelasi Product Moment Pearson yang hasil datanya diolah menggunakan SPSS 16. Hasilpenelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan aktivitas mahasiswa dan mahasiswa terlihat antusias mengikuti kegiatanpembelajaran. Persentase keaktifan siswa pada pertemuan pertama sebesar 73,86% dan 93,18% pada pertemuankedua. Hasil belajar mahasiswa dengan penggunaan metode mind mapping secara klasikal mencapai ketuntasansebesar 89,29%. Persentase siswa yang memberi tanggapan positif terhadap penggunaan metode mind mappingmencapai 82,15%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Terdapat hubungan yang positif antara hasil pembuatanmind mapping mahasiswa terhadap hasil belajar pada materi kromatografi kertas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas penggunaan model pembelajaran problem solving terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi larutan penyangga, serta untuk mendeskripsikan gambaran tanggapan peserta didik terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran tersebut. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian true eksperimental dengan desain pretest-posttest control group desain. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua kelas XI MIA di SMAN 7 Banda Aceh tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Sampel diambil dengan teknik simple random sampling. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes pilihan ganda dan respon tanggapan peserta didik. Data dianalisis menggunakan program Microsoft Excel dan uji T (2-pihak). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran problem solving adalah efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar peserta didik dengan hasil persentase pre test, post test dan N-Gain pada kelas eksperimen 38,80%, 82,62 % dan 70,9 % sedangkan kelas kontrol  38,42 %, 75,62 % dan 58,2%. Selain itu, tanggapan yang diberikan peserta didik terhadap model pembelajaran problem solving adalah positif dengan kriteria baik, karena banyaknya peserta didik yang menjawab sangat setuju lebih tinggi persentasenya yaitu 83,33% dan 80,00%, dibandingkan pernyataan setuju, tidak setuju dan sangat tidak setuju. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran dengan model problem solving efektif digunakan untuk dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar peserta didik. Serta tanggapan yang diberikan peserta didik terhadap model pembelajaran problem solving baik.
