Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Project-Based Learning (PJBL) model on the social skills of third-grade elementary school students. The problem discussed is the lack of students' social skills caused by conventional learning methods that do not actively involve them. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design of the Nonequivalent Control Group Design type. To obtain the sample, a saturated sampling method was used with two classes as research objects, namely the experimental class and the control class. Data collection tools included a social skills test and observation. From the analysis results, it is clear that the PJBL model has a significant effect on improving students' social skills, as indicated by the results of the paired sample t-test and a higher N-Gain value in the experimental class. Therefore, it can be concluded that the PJBL model is more effective than conventional learning methods in improving students' social skills. In research in the context of elementary education, instructors can use PJBL as a strategy that can foster a cooperative, engaging, and meaningful learning environment, as well as encourage the development of children's social character from a young age.

Abstract

This research focuses on the development of a learning product called KEDASA e-book, which aims to improve students' understanding of social studies learning in grade IV SD. This research applies mixed methods, which is a combination of Research and Development (R&D) and pre-experiment methods, by applying the ADDIE development model. To test the effectiveness of the e-book, a One-Group Pretest-Posttest research design was used. Data collection methods include interviews, questionnaires, and tests, while data analysis includes descriptive quantitative analysis and inferential statistics. The results of the KEDASA e-book media validation are very promising, with percentages from material experts (90%), language experts (98.33%), and media experts (93.78%). Practical trials also showed results with the percentage results of individual trials (95.79%), small group trials (93.16%), and large group trials (95.72%) with very feasible categories that can be used without improvement. The main findings of this study show a significant increase in students' understanding of social studies learning after using the KEDASA e-book. These results prove that the KEDASA e-book is a learning media that is quite effective and can be used in elementary schools to improve students' understanding of social studies learning. Thus, this study concludes that KEDASA e-book media is proven to be a learning media that can enhance students' understanding of social studies learning and offers an interesting new approach to teaching this subject in elementary schools.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Cultural literacy is a literacy activity to improve the ability to understand, appreciate, analyze and apply knowledge about culture. This activity can be carried out to overcome the problem of students' low love and understanding of regional culture and other regional cultures in Indonesia. For this reason, it is necessary to carry out research that provides an alternative model, namely cultural literacy through the snowball throwing learning model with the aim of finding out the effect of the snowball throwing learning model and the differences between the control class and the experimental class regarding students' cultural literacy in elementary schools. The method used in this research is experimentation with a quantitative approach. The research results show that the use of the snowball throwing model has an effect on increasing student literacy by obtaining statistical test results with an average final ability score of 74 and an average N-Gain score of 0.45. The increase in literacy skills was strengthened by the results of the N-Gain average difference test which obtained a sig value. 0.005, which means that the increase in the literacy ability of the experimental class using the snowball throwing model is significantly better than the increase in the literacy ability of the control class using the conventional model. From the research results, it can be concluded that cultural literacy using the snowball throwing model can have an influence on increasing student literacy and is different from classes that use the conventional model. Thus, the snowball throwing model is suitable to be used to improve students' literacy understanding in elementary schools. Keywords: Cultural Literacy, Snowball Throwing, Learning Model

Abstract

The limited integration of interactive and contextual digital learning materials in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) instruction at the elementary school level remains a considerable obstacle in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. A real-world-oriented learning approach is essential to foster students’ 21st-century competencies. This study aims to develop a STEM-integrated e-module on the water cycle topic for fifth-grade students in elementary schools. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) methodology using the ADDIE development model, which comprises five stages: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. Data were collected through interviews and questionnaires. The product was validated by five experts, including two media experts and three content experts. The validation results indicated that the e-module achieved an average score of 96,65% from media experts and 94% from content experts, resulting in a combined score of 95,25%, which falls into the “highly valid” category. The practicality of the e-module was assessed through individual trials (n = 3; 100%), small-group trials (n = 24; 87%), and large-group trials (n = 27; 81,75%), with an overall average score of 88.6%, classified as “highly practical.” These findings confirm that the developed STEM-integrated e-module is both valid and practical, and thus appropriate to be implemented as a digital instructional material in IPAS learning on the water cycle topic at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This paper describes the process of e-module development on the learning material of rights and obligations to increase the understanding of class III students. The research described in this paper is developmental research (Design and Development) with the ADDIE model, whichconsists of five stages, Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and  Evaluation. The validation of development products is tested through 1 media/design expert, 1 material expert, and 1 linguist. The data collection instruments in the research use validation sheets and pretest and posttest questions. E-module development on the right and obligation to increase understanding of class III students meets excellent criteria with an average percentage of validity at 91.37%. After testing the effectiveness through data processing of pretest and posttest value results, it was found that there has been an increased understanding of class III students after applying the learning media of the e-modules that have been developed. It is also indicated by the difference between the average value of the pretest and posttest results, where the value of the posttest is an average of 94.33 higher than the value the pretest by an average of 80,33. The implementation in this paper is recommended for further researchers in order to be able to develop learning media like e-modules by applying a particular learning method or a more interesting and creative application. In addition, it is also required further research validation will be applied more than once and the effectiveness tests are made on more subjects

Abstract

This paper discusses the improvement of fifth-grade students’ understanding of Pancasila values by developing the e-NIPA (Edukasi Nilai Pancasila) application, which is an android application that is appropriate for students’ interests and abilities. This application can be operated by students without using an internet network. Theresearch was conducted because the fifth-grade students did not understand Pancasila values in elementary school. The method used in the research is the R&D (Research and Development) method with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) development model. The research was conducted on fifth-grade students, which consisted of 21 students in one of the elementary schools in Sumedang City. The results of the research indicate that this product is feasible to use after applying the validation by media and material experts in the very good category with a percentage of 95.5%. The results of the research on the research subjects were processed using the Paired Sample T-test by comparing the results of the students’ average pretest and posttest scores, which begins with conducting a normality test on the data. The results imply that the data were normally distributed and there was a difference between the average students’ pretest and posttest scores and it was obtained that the students’ average scores increased at 38% based on N-gain. It implies that the e-NIPA application can improve students’ understanding of the values of Pancasila.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the understanding of sixth-grade students of SDN Mandalaherang III on the material of the Arrival of Foreign Nations to Indonesia through the implementation of the digital learning media Google Site JENUSA. This study uses the Action Research method with a mixed-methods in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 31 students and data were collected through learning outcome tests (quantitative) and observation of learning activities (qualitative). The results showed that in cycle I, after using basic Google Site, students' understanding increased with an average post-test of 78.06 and classical completion of 64.51%, but the implementation was not optimal. Based on reflection, the learning media in cycle II was enriched with the integration of interactive PowerPoint to clarify the flow of events. As a result, there was a significant increase with an average post-test of 90.32 and classical completion reaching 96.77%. Observations also noted an increase in student activeness and ability to explain the material coherently. Thus, the implementation of the JENUSA Google Site enriched with interactive content has proven effective in increasing students' understanding of the Arrival of Foreign Nations to Indonesia.

Abstract

History learning in elementary school often faces obstacles because history material tends to be abstract, making it difficult for students to understand key figures and important events. This condition was evident among sixth-grade students who showed low comprehension due to learning activities that were still dominated by lectures and simple media. This study aims to improve students’ understanding and engagement in the topic of Proclamation Figures through the use of Pop-Up Books and web-based interactive games. The method employed was Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, observations of student activity, and documentation. The results showed a significant improvement from Cycle I to Cycle II, where learning mastery increased from 62.5% to 93.75%, and the class average score rose from the “fair” to “excellent” category. In addition, students' engagement and motivation also improved through visual, kinesthetic, and interactive learning activities. Thus, the use of Pop-Up Books and interactive games is proven to be effective in creating more engaging and meaningful Social Studies learning and can serve as an alternative instructional media to enhance the quality of learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif yang dibantu e-book terhadap pemahaman IPAS mengenai materi mengenal mata uang pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri Manangga. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen kuantitatif dengan desain Pra-Eksperimen tipe One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 25 siswa yang dipilih melalui teknik sampling jenuh. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa tes pretest dan posttest, dengan analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji berpasangan sampel t-test, dan uji N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dari nilai rata-rata pretest 85,36 ​​menjadi 92,68 pada posttest, dengan nilai signifikansi 0,004 (p < 0,05). Uji N-Gain memperoleh nilai rata-rata 0,34 dalam kategori sedang, dengan 9 siswa mencapai kategori tinggi. Kombinasi model pembelajaran kooperatif dengan media e-book interaktif yang dilengkapi fitur audio, gambar menarik, dan elemen interaktif mampu menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang lebih dinamis dan menyenangkan. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif berbantuan e-book efektif meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi IPAS, tidak hanya dari aspek akademik tetapi juga mengembangkan aspek sosial dan emosional siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Social studies learning in elementary schools often faces obstacles because the material tends to be more complex and abstract, making it difficult for students to understand the abstract process of photosynthesis and the use of conventional learning methods that do not actively involve students. This also occurs in fifth- grade students who do not yet understand the overall concept of photosynthesis. This study aims to improve the understanding of fifth-grade students at SDN Sukaraja 2 of photosynthesis material through the use of interactive animated video- based learning media combined with simple experimental methods, particularly in the process of photosynthesis. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which was carried out in two cycles, each cycle covering the stages of planning, implementation of actions, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 29 fifth-grade students at SDN Sukaraja 2. Data collection techniques were carried out through learning outcome tests and observation of student activities during the learning process. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, observation of student activities during the learning process, and documentation. The results showed an increase from cycle I to cycle II of 27.5%. This had a positive effect on student understanding in each cycle, as indicated by increased learning outcomes and student activity in participating in learning. In cycle II, most students achieved scores above the Minimum Passing Grade (MPG) of 75. Thus, the use of interactive animated videos and simple experiments proved to be effective in improving students' understanding of photosynthesis, especially the process of photosynthesis, and can be used as an alternative learning medium to improve and refine the learning process in elementary schools.
