Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of the experimental method in increasing the learning activities and mastering students' concepts in temochemical material. This study used a quasi-experiment method with pretest-posttest control design. The population of this study was students of grade XI of science class High School in Bandar Lampung. Sampling uses cluster random sampling. In the experimental class using XI science 4 and class XI science 6 as a class control. The results showed that the experimental method had aneffect on increasing the students’ learning activities with a percentage of 79.97% and mastery of students concepts in the experimental class increases based on the average n-Gain score and the "big" category of influence tests which are 0.76 in the experimental class. It can be concluded that the experimental method has a large measure of influence in increasing learning activities and mastery of the concept of learning in thermochemical material.Keywords: learning activities, experiment method, mastery of student concept, thermochemistryPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh metode eksperimen terhadap peningkatan aktivitas belajar dan penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi temokimia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan pretest-postestcontrolgrup design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMA di Bandar Lampung. Penentuan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling, diperoleh kelas XI IPA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA 6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan metode eksperimen berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa dengan besar persentase 79,97% dan penguasaan konsep siswa di kelas eksperimen meningkat berdasarkan rata-rata skor n-Gain  dan uji pengaruh yang diperoleh berkategori “besar” yaitu 0,76 pada kelas eksperimen. Disimpulkan bahwa metode eksperimen memiliki ukuran pengaruh yang besar dalam meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi termokimia.Kata kunci: aktivitas belajar, metode eksperimen, penguasaan konsep siswa, termokimia

Abstract

This research aims to describe the effect of using student’s worksheet based on problem solving to improve student’s communication and collaboration skills. The method used quasi experiment with pretest posttest non-equivalent control group design. The sample were taken by clauster random sampling tehnique obtained by class X MIPA 4 as experimental class and X MIPA 6 as control class. The results show that student’s communication and collaboration skills on the experimental class were higher than on the control class. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of student’s worksheet based on problem solving has given large effect to improve student’s communication and collaboration skills. Keywords: student’s worksheet based on problem solving, communication, collaborationPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh LKS berbasis problem solving untuk meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi dan kolaborasi siswa. Abstract

This research purpose is describe the experimental method effect in increasing the ability to communicate and thermochemistry concept mastery. This research uses quasi experimental method with pretest-posttest non equivalent control group design. This research population is the students of high school grade XI science in Bandar Lampung. The Sampling used is cluster random sampling method obtained from XI science 1 and 2 as experiment class and control class. The effectiveness of experiment method proved by n-Gain value and supported with effect size test. The result shows that the students’ value after they done learning with experimental method is increasing and also appropriate with calculation showing that experiment class n-Gain value higher than student value in control class. The calculation also shows that effect size test experiment class is 0,85 includes in “big” category. Based on that result, experimental method effective in increasing ability to communicate and students concept mastery on thermochemistry. Keyword: communication, concept mastery, experiment method, thermochemistryPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh metode eksperimen dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mengkomunikasikan dan penguasaan konsep termokimia. Hasil penelitian menunjukan nilai siswa setelah dilakukan pembelajaran dengan metode eksperimen meningkat, juga sesuai dengan perhitungan yang menunjukan bahwa nilai n-Gain kelas ekperimen lebih tinggi daripada nilai siswa di kelas kontrol. Hasil perhitungan menunjukan bahwa hasil uji pengaruh kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,85 yang termasuk kategori “besar”. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, metode eksperimen berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mengkomunikasikan dan penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi termokimia. Kata kunci: mengkomunikasikan, metode eksperimen, penguasaan konsep, termokimia.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the effectivieness of the learning model of Empirical Inductive Learning Cycle on the material in the reaction rate increases students’ mastery of the concept of class XI IPA SMAN Bandar Lampung. Learning Model of Empirical Inductive Learning Cycle consists of three phases, namely, the exploration phase, the phase of the introduction of the concept and application of the concept phase. This study used a quasi-experimental method with Non Equivalent (pretest and posttest) the control group design. Effectiveness of Empirical Inductive Learning cycle  indicated the presence of significant differences between the initial understanding with understanding after learning (significant gain). Results showed an increase in the average value of mastery of concepts for students in the control class  and the exsperimental class 7.30 by 34.74 and the average value of N-gain mastery of concepts for students in the control class by 0.10 by 0.46 in the experimental classes. Could be concluded that the learning cycle empirical inductive learning is effective in improving students’ mastery of the material concept of chemical reaction rate.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran Siklus Belajar Empiris Induktif pada ma­teri laju reaksi dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep  siswa ke­las XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Bandar Lampung. Model pembelajaran Siklus Belajar Empiri Induktif ini terdiri dari tiga fase yaitu, fa­se eksplorasi, fase pengenalan konsep dan fase aplikasi konsep. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi-experimental dengan disain penelitian Non Equivalent kontrol grup (Pretest and Posttest).  Efektivitas Siklus Belajar Empiris Induktif ditunjukkan dengan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara pemahaman awal dengan pemahaman setelah pembelajaran (gain yang signifikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan peningkatan rata-rata nilai penguasaan konsep siswa pada kelas kontrol sebesar 7,03 dan kelas eksperimen sebe­sar 34,74 dan rata-rata nilai N-gain untuk penguasaan kon­sep siswa pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,46 pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,10. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran Siklus belajar empiris induktif efektif dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi laju reaksi kimia.Kata kunci : model pembelajaran siklus belajar empiris induktif, penguasaan konsep, laju reaksi kimia

Abstract

The purpose of this study was (1) to describe the existence of hydrocarbon material difference between the mastery of concepts Cooperative Learning with NHT type and TPS type MAN Pringsewu students and (2) the average mastery of concepts which higher hydrocarbons between Cooperative Learning with NHT type and TPS type. The population in this study were all students of class X MAN Pringsewu academic year 2011/2012. Samples were taken using purposive sampling technique. Retrieved class X. 2 as a class experiment I conducted NHT cooperative learning model type, and class X. 4 as a class II experiments conducted cooperative learning model TPS type. The research design using a design-Only Matching Posttest-Only Control Group Design. Analysis of data using normality test, homogeneity of the two variances, and differences in the two trials showed average. The results showed (1) There is a difference between students' mastery of concepts Hydrocarbons who received NHT and Cooperative Learning TPS type. (2) Average Hydrocarbon between student mastery of concepts that use Cooperative Learning TPS type higher than students who use learning NHT type. Abstract

This research aimed to describe the effectiveness of problem solving learning model to improve the ability of inducing and judging inductions on hydrolysis salt topic. The sampling was done with purposive sampling technique from all of student in the 11th grade of IPA at SMAN 14 Bandar Lampung and it was obtained the 11th grade of IPA4 as an experiment class and IPA3 as a control class. This research used quasi experimental method with Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The result showed that the average n-Gain in the experiment class was higher than control class. Based on the result of hypothesis testing used t test, it can be concluded that problem solving learning model was effective to improve the ability of inducing and judging inductions on hydrolysis salt topic.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menginduksi dan mempertimbangkan hasil induksi pada materi garam hidrolisis. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling dari seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA di SMAN 14 Bandar Lampung dan diperoleh kelas IPA4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan IPA3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Non- Equivalent Control Group Design. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata nilai n-Gain pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari kelas kontrol. Abstract

This research aims to describe the effect of using problem solving based worksheet to improve students creative thinking skills in electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution topic. This research used quasi experimental method with Non-Equivalent Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The sample used was cluster random sampling, the class X MIPA 1 was the experimental class and X MIPA 5 was the control class. The result showed that students creative thinking skills were higher in the experimental class compared to the control class. Problem solving based worksheet has an effect in improving students creative thinking skills with huge influence on the experimental class. Based on the results of the research it can be concluded that problem solving based worksheet has large influence in improving students creative thinking skills in electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution topic.Keywords: problem solving based student worksheet, creative thinking skills, electrolyte and  non-elektrolyte solution.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh LKS berbasis Problem Solving untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKS berbasis problem solving memiliki pengaruh besar dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit.Kata kunci: LKS berbasis problem solving, keterampilan berpikir kreatif, larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit.

Abstract

This research was done to describe the effectiveness of using LKPD based on discovery learning to improve students collaboration skill and concepts mastery of the material equation of the rate and reaction order. A quasi experimental was used in this research which the design is a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample in this research was XI MIPA 1 as an experimental class and XI MIPA 2 as a control class, it was taken with a purposive sampling technique. The improvement of the students can be seen from the average n-Grain scores and based on effect size of collaboration skill and concept mastery through LKPD based on discovery learning. The results showed that the n-Grain scores of collaboration skill and concept mastery through LKPD based on discovery learning improved significantly with conventional learning. It can be concluded that students collaboration skil and concept mastery of the material equation of the rate and reaction order through LKPD based on discovery learning is effective. Besides, another result of LKPD based on discovery learning showed that there was a moderate in students collaboration skill and there was a huge in students of concept mastery.Keywords: the effectiveness, LKPD based discovery learning, collaboration skills, mastery of concepts.

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of guided inquiry to improve chemical literacy ability in electrolyte and non electrolyte solution topic. This research used quasi experiment with Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The sample was obtained by cluster random sampling technique, and it was obtained sample was students of  X MIA 5 as experiment class and X MIA 4 as control class. The effectiveness of guided inquiry was showed by the significant difference for average n-Gain of chemical literacy ability between the experiment and control class. The results showed that students chemical literacy ability were higher  in the experimental calss compared to the control class. Abstract

The objective of this research was to describe the effectiveness of  model of problem solving which was effective in increasing of classifying and communicate skill in the subject of non electrolyte and electrolyte. The samples of this research were the students of SMAN 1 Talang Padang class X2 and X3 at even semester year of 2012-2013. This research used quasi experiment method by Non Equivalent (Pretest and Posttest) control group design. The result of this research showed the average of classifying skill n-Gain for control class and experimental class were 0,27 and 0,62 and the average of communicate skill n-Gain for control class and experimental class were 0,28 and 0,74. Based on hypothesis testing, it was known that the class which used model of problem solving had higher classifying and communicate skill than the class which used conventional learning. It showed that model of problem solvingwas effective in increasing the classifying and concluding skill.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model problem solving yang efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan mengelompokkan dan mengkomunikasikan pada materi larutan non elektrolit dan elektrolit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rerata n-Gain keterampilan mengelompokkan untuk kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing 0,27 dan 0,62  dan rerata n-Gain keterampilan mengkomunikasikan untuk kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing 0,28 dan 0,74. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis, diketahui bahwa kelas dengan model problem solving memiliki keterampilan mengelompokkan dan mengkomunikasikan yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas dengan pembelajaran konvensional.
