Abstract

Ubi jalar mengandung karoten sebagai bahan utama pembentukan vitamin A setara dengan karoten yang terdapat pada wortel yang berfungsi sebagai senyawa antioksidan yang mampu menghalangi laju perusakan sel oleh radikal bebas dan juga mampu mencegah kanker. Di Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat ubi jalar telah lama dikonsumsi oleh sebagian besar masyarakat terutama yang ada di pedesaan. Akan tetapi karena kurangnya diversifikasi ubi jalar dan relatif rendahnya harga jual menjadikan tanaman ini  lama kelamaan kurang populer untuk dibudidayakan bagi para petani sehingga  produksinya terus mengalami penurunan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kadar karoten dalam ubi jalar. Uji karotenoid  dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Analitik Universitas Mataram. Lima jenis ubi jalar yang memiliki warna kulit dan warna umbi berbeda dipilih sebagai sampel dengan ulangan sebanyak 2 kali. Ubi jalar lokal yang diteliti memiliki rentang kandungan karotenoid antara 0,007-0,254 µg/100 gr yang dibagi menjadi 2 kategori yaitu Kategori 1 yang merupakan ubi jalar lokal dengan kandungan karotenoid rendah, dan Kategori 2 yang beranggotakan ubi jalar lokal dengan kandungan karotenoid yang tinggi. Dilihat dari kandungan karotenoidnya maka ubi jalar lokal dengan daging ubi berwarna kuning- oranye memilki kandungan karoten paling tinggi sehingga mempunyai potensi dalam meningkatkan asupan vitamin A.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe Sasak ethnic group in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, are fanatical adherents of Islam, especially rural communities. They believe in, understand and practice Islam based on the ideology of the Sufism which is synonymous with strong belief in mystical problems and spells in solving life problems faced. The Qur'an for rural Muslims, the Sasak ethnic group, is believed to be a magical tool in the form of a spell which if it can function as a solution to the problems of life. This study aims to reveal the factors that cause the birth of the practice of using Qur'anic spells and the forms of practice of using Qur'anic spells. This research is a field research related to socio-cultural problems. The approach used is religious anthropology and historical approaches. Methods of data collection are done by means of observation, interviews and documentation studies. The results showed that rural Muslims of the Sasak ethnic group adhere to the ideology of the sufism which is identical with a high belief in the benefits of the Qur’anic spell as a solution to life problems experienced, such as functioning as a treatment for diseases that are medical and non-medical in nature, to protect themselves or as a means of supernatural powers. As a way for the sake of getting a mate, used to get offspring, and as a means of house keeping.Keywords: Magism; Qur’anic spell, Sasak ethnicABSTRAKEtnis Sasak di Lombok Nusa Tengga Barat tergolong penganut agama Islam yang fanatik, terutama masyarakat pedesaan. Mereka meyakini, memahamai dan mengamalkan Islam berdasarkan faham tarekat yang identik dengan keyakinan yang kuat pada masalah mistik dan mantra dalam menyelesaikan problematika kehidupan yang dihadapi. Al-Qur’an bagi Muslim pedesaan etnis Sasak diyakini sebagai alat magis dalam bentuk mantra yang jika bisa berfungsi sebagai solusi bagi problematika kehidupan.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap faktor-faktor penyebab lahirnya praktik penggunaan mantra Alquran dan bentuk-bentuk praktik penggunaan mantra Alquran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan yang berkaitan dengan masalah sosial budaya. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah antropologi Agama dan pendekatan sejarah. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa muslim pedesaan etnis Sasak menganut faham tarekat yang identik dengan kepercayaan yang tinggi pada manpaat mantra Quranisebagai solusi bagi problematika kehidupan yang dialami, seperti berfungsi sebagai pengobatan penyakit yang bersifat medis dan non medis, untuk melindungi diri atau alat kesaktian, untuk dijadikan sebagai pelet demi mendapatkan jodoh, dipergunakan untuk mendapatkan keturunan, dan sebagai alat penjaga rumah.Kata Kunci: Magisme; MantraQur’ani; EtnisSasak

Abstract

Hyacinth bean (Lablab purpureus (L.) Sweet) is a member of Fabaceae which has high economic potential but is still treated as an underutilized crop. Research on Lombok’s hyacinth bean focused on stem anatomical profile has never been conducted. The aims of this research were to study stem anatomical profile of hyacinth bean in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. Young and mature stem were collected using exploration method. Anatomical sample preparation was done using free hand section method, stained with safranin, and mounted in a glycerine liquid. Sample was visualized and documented using binocular microscope connected to the digital camera integrated with ScopeImage 9 software. Data were analyzed by a triangulation method. The result showed that stem anatomical profile of hyacinth bean in Lombok by transversal section consists of one layer of an epidermal cell and unicellular glandular trichomes as it’s derivate. Parenchyma cell was found in the cortex, interfascicular region, and pith in shape of rounded, oval, up to polygonal and varied in size. Vascular tissue showed a unique structure and became the distinctive feature od hyacinth bean stem. There were 2 type of vascular bundles i.e big and small vascular bundles. The large vascular bundles contain xylem and phloem and the small vascular bundles may or may not contain both xylem and phloem.

Abstract

Penanda RAPD digunakan untuk evaluasi hubungan genetik diantara 26 aksesi kacang komak di Pulau Lombok. Koleksi sampel menggunakan metode jelajah di 4 kabupaten ada di Pulau Lombok, isolasi DNA menggunakan kit Nucleon Phytopure. Amplifikasi DNA menggunakan PCR dengan 5 primer yaitu L 11 (5’- ACGATGAGCC-3'), OPB 8 (5'-GTCCACACGG-3'), OPB 15 (5'-CGAGGGTGTT-3'), OPB 17 (5'-AGGGAACGAG-3'), dan OPH 6 (5'-ACGCATCGCA-3'). Prosedur PCR yang dilakukan mengacu pada yang telah dilakukan oleh Williams et al. (1990). Analisis kluster menggunakan UPGMA dengan menggunakan koefisien Jaccard. Pada koefisien 0,71 atau nilai similaritas 71% anggota kacang komak yang ada di P. Lombok mengelompok membentuk 4 klaster utama yaitu klaster I, II, III, dan IV. Pola pengelompokan kacang komak yang ada di P. Lombok secara molekular tidak mencerminkan pola pengelompokan berdasarkan karakter morfologi polong maupun wilayah geografis.

Abstract

Soybean is the main raw material for the making of tempeh. Currently the domestic soybean production is still not able to fullfill the needs of local tempeh industry, so the fulfillment of the needs of the raw material became dependent on imports. An alternative solution that can be used to reduce the reliance of imported soybeans are against using the beans such as local hyacinth bean known as komak with brown and white seed (Lablab purpureus (L.) Sweet), kratok or komak kace (Phaseolus lunatus), gude/lebui (Cajanus cajan) as an alternative to the main raw material in the making of tempeh. This research aims to uncover the total seed protein content of the beans before  and after processed into tempeh. Protein content tests done with the Kjehdahl method, water content by the method of oven (gravimetric) as well as the ash levels with the furnice method. The results showed that there is a difference in the levels of protein content when the seed processed into tempe. The highest seed protein content owned by lebui/gude (20.90%), komak with white seed (20.26%), komak with brown color seed (20.24%), and komak kace/kratok (18.73%). After being processed into tempeh, protein content from the highest is white seed komak/hyacinth bean tempeh (14.70%), lebui tempeh (12.23%), komak kace/kratok tempeh (11,81%), and tempeh made by komak/hyacinth bean with brown seeds (9.89%).

Abstract

The main purpose of Indonesian national education system is to create a Pancasilais human being, characterized by living with religious values and noble humanity. Islamic higher education then played a significant role by developing an education system that integrated science and religion into their curriculum by put some specific Islamic theology course/subject onto their science department. In consequence, the paradigm learning model which is phylosophicaly, holistic, and integrative is strongly needed. This kind of learning model would give birth to an aksiological aspect by emerging the spiritual factor. Thereby, religion would became  a value system that always embedded in every science course/subject.

Abstract

Based on observations in class VIII MTs Arrahmah NW IPA Pringgarata in the leraning process, indicating a lack of ability of the students in disclosing information obtained during the learning process, not the task of writing well-structured and less communicative language and do not lead to a fundamental question that needs to be conducted to determine the effect of the strategy used. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the heuristic learning strategies to the communication skills and cognitive learning science (biology) student of class VIII MTs Arrahmah NW Pringgarata. This research is a quasi experimental population of all eighth grade student totaling 44 students spread in two classes. Sampling was carried out with saturated sampling techniques, data collection techniques used were observation and tests. The data analysis of the percentage of communication skills in students of class VIII A at the first meeting of 78.12% with skilled category and 87.5% in the second meeting with the highly skilled category. Based on the results of hypothesis test, it obtained that t-count (2.38) greater than the price of the t-table (1.68). This shows that the heuristic strategies affect the communication skills and the cognitive learning science (biology) in class VIII MTs Arrahmah NW Pringgarata.

Abstract

Abstract : Hyacinth bean (Lablab purpureus (L) Sweet) is one of highly potential legume served as a protein source, composite flour, and fodder. This legume is easily found and abundant in Lombok Island. So far,  the diversify  cation of this legume is still restricted. Improving the  quality of this crop need an assessment of their biochemical properties  particularly seed protein content. This research aimed to profiling hyacinth bean protein content based on their dry seed colour. Kjehdahl AOAC 1970 procedure used to assessed the crude protein content  while seed were obtained through exploration method to the traditional markets and farmer. During the exploration, three (3) dry seed phenotypes were found i.e dark purple, brown, and light-yellow (cream colored) seed. Crude protein content analysis showed that cream colored seed contain 13,48%, brown seed contain 11,32%, and dark purple seed of hyacinth bean contain 10,54%.

Abstract

The microalgae community structure in an aquatic ecosystem is strongly influenced by environmental factors. One of the rivers in Indonesia, located inhe island of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, is the Jangkok River. The Jangkok River is widely used by residents for activities, including industry, cultivation, waste disposal, and others. This study aimed to determine the structure of microalgae community in Jangkok River. This research was carried out with an exploration descriptive method by quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data were analyzed quantitatively by calculating the Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H’), Uniformity index (E) and Dominance index (d). The results showed that the diversity of microalgae was categorized as moderate (H' = 2.66), uniformity index (E = 0.66), and the dominance index indicate that there were no dominant species with a value (D = 0.13).

Abstract

Hutan lindung Aik Nyet sebagai kawasan wisata dan konservasi di Kecamatan Narmada, Lombok Barat menyimpan kekayaan flora dan fauna. Flora yang tersimpan di hutan lindung ini salah satunya adalah paku-pakuan (Pteridophyta). Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendapatkan data dan informasi yang berisi penjabaran tentang jeni-jenis tumbuhan paku (Pteridophyta) dikawasan Hutan Lindung Aik Nyet. Teknik pengambilan data yaitu dengan jelajah alam yaitu menjelajahi kawasan Hutan Lindung Aik Nyet, Sesaot, Lombok barat, dokumentasi dan pengambilan tumbuhan paku (pteridophyta). Teknik analisis data dengan metode observasi. Hasil penelitian ditemukan ada 7 spesies yaitu Davalia corniculate, Sphaerostephasnos sp., Belvisia soicata (L.f) Copel, Didymochlaena lunuata Desv, Pterium aquilinium, Athyrium sorzogense, Discranopteris linearis.
