Abstract

The aim of this experiment was to gain the accurate concentration of cycocel growth for controlling of yellow latex mangoesteen in different age level on field water stress.  This experiment was conducted in Koto Patah village, Keliling Danau, Kerinci, Jambi and was done from June until November 2011 at the altitude of 800 - 900 meter above sea level. Factorial experiment was arranged in a randomized block design. The first factor was cycocel concentrations: 0; 1.500; 3.000; 4.500; dan 6.000 mg L-1.  The second factor was levels of age plants: <30; 30-50; and >50 years.  The data were analyzed by using analysis of variance and continued with BNT test at α=5%.  The results of experiment showed that: (1) the impact of cycocel on number and weight of perfect fruits depended on the age of manggoesteen; (2) manggoesteens which were less than 30 years old and treated with 4.500 mgL-1 cycocel could increase number and weight of perfect fruits; (3) manggoesteens which were older, 30-50 years old and above 50 years old needed less cycocel namely 1.500 mgL-1 for increasing number and weight of perfect fruis.

Abstract

Pakcoy is a popular vegetable in Indonesia because it tastes good, is high in nutrition, and contains dietary fiber, which aids in digestion. Pakcoy cultivation is possible using hydroponic technology, which uses water as a nutrient medium for plants. The Deep Flow Technique is one type of hydroponic technology that is being developed (DFT). The DFT hydroponic system is a culture method that uses water as a medium to provide nutrients. This study had seven stages: creating a hydroponic installation, creating planting media, sowing pakcoy seeds, transplanting pakcoy, providing nutrient water, plant maintenance, and harvesting. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 7 treatments and 3 repetitions. Plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), and plant fresh weight were all measured (g). Differences in planting media had a significant effect on pakcoy growth, according to the research results. Pakcoy plants grew best on the coconut coir + fern root growing medium, with a plant height of 22.90 cm, 20.33 leaves, and a fresh weight of 77.67 g.

Abstract

Salah satu daerah penghasil kopi di kabupaten Tanjung Jabung barat adalah Kelurahan Parit Lapis Kecamatan Betara. Berdasarkan wawancara dengan Camat Betara, sebagian besar masyarakat memang bertani kopi. Persoalan utama yang dihadapi oleh mitra yang memproduksi teh Cascara Liberika adalah sulitnya mengupas kulit kopi yang secara fisik memang tebal dan besar. Masyarakat harus merendam kopi dalam waktu 12 jam dan melucuti kulit satu persatu menggunakan tangan kosong. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan produktivitas cascara Liberika sehingga dapat memberikan dampak ekonomi yang signifikan untuk mitra. Metode yang dilakukan adalah  membuat suatu teknologi tepat guna untuk pengupas kulit kopi sehingga masyarakat dapat mengupas kulit kopi dalam jumlah banyak per hari. Waktu pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian yaitu bulan Mei–November 2021. Objek Pengabdian pada program ini adalah Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis) dan Karang Taruna Sukarejo Kecamatan Betara Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat dengan jumlah peserta 20 orang. Pelaksanaan program pengabdian masyarakat ini menggunakan pendekatan Particippatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). Proses pengabdian ini dilaksanakan baik secara daring ataupun luring. Mitra sangat menyambut baik teknologi tersebut dan merasakan manfaat akan teknologi tersebut. Kegiatan ini efektif meningkatkan produktivitas teh cascara Liberika di Kelurahan  Mekar Jaya Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat. Ke depannya, kegiatan ini akan terus berlanjut dan ditargetkan menambah alat pengupas kulit kopi pada mitra.One of the coffee-producing areas in West Tanjung Jabung district is Parit Lapis Village, Betara District. Based on interviews with the Head of the Betara Sub-District, most people are coffee farmers. The main problem faced by partners who produce Cascara Liberika tea is the difficulty in peeling the coffee skin, which is physically thick and large. People must soak the coffee within 12 hours and strip the skin one by one using their bare hands. This service activity aims to increase the productivity of Liberika's cascara so that it can have a significant economic impact on partners. The method used is to create an appropriate technology for coffee peeling so that people can peel coffee in large quantities daily. The time for carrying out community service activities is May - November 2021. The object of service in this program is the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) and Sukarejo Youth Organization, Betara District, West Tanjung Jabung Regency, with 20 participants. The implementation of this community service program uses a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach. This dedication process is carried out both online and offline. Partners welcome this technology and feel the benefits of this technology. This activity effectively increased the productivity of Liberika cascara tea in the Mekar Jaya Village, West Tanjung Jabung Regency. This activity will continue in the future, and it is targeted to add coffee peelers to partners.

Abstract

ABSTRACT                Duku (Lansium domesticum) has become the flagship fruit of Jambi and is widely planted and becomes a source of income for farmers. In the last 5 years, around 310,828 trees have been damaged, that is, they die and die. In natural conditions, duku jambi plants are often flooded. Thus, conditions of hypoxia or anoxia are often experienced by the root system of plants. This limited O2 condition can affect the growing environment of the duku plant which in turn will affect the growth, development, and survival of the plant due to a decrease in energy. The method used is a field survey and takes environmental and soil data. Observations of duku plants and other vegetation include: the number of clumps, the number of duku individuals according to the growth phase, the type of vegetation, the number of individual species found in each sample unit, and the coverage area. . Based on the results obtained, it can be seen that the highest density is found in the Kelopak Alai area with the highest density value being the duku tree of 325, and the highest frequency is found in the area of ​​the Karang City area with the highest frequency value being the duku tree of 87.50, while for dominance The highest value is found in the village of Olak Rambahan with the highest dominance value is the duku tree of 3300,955. Keywords : Duku, Bioecological, Death On  ABSTRAK  Duku (Lansium domesticum) sudah menjadi buah unggulan Jambi banyak ditanam dan menjadi sumber pendapatan petani. Dalam kurun waktu 5 tahun terakhir sekitar 310.828 pohon mengalami kerusakan yaitu mati meranggas. Pada kondisi alami, tanaman duku jambi sering tergenang air. Dengan demikian, kondisi hipoksia atau anoksia sering dialami oleh sistem perakaran tanaman. Kondisi O2 yang terbatas ini dapat mempengaruhi lingkungan tumbuh tanaman duku yang pada gilirannya akan mempengaruhi pertumbuhan, perkembangan, dan kelangsungan hidup tanaman karena terjadi penurunan energi. Metode yang digunakan adalah survey lapangan dan mengambi data lingkungan dan tanah, Pengamatan tanaman duku dan vegetasi lain meliputi : jumlah rumpun, jumlah individu duku menurut fase pertumbuhan, jenis vegetasi, jumlah individu spesies yang kedapatan pada setiap unit contoh, dan luas tutupan (coverage). Berdasarkan hasil yang didapat terlihat bahwa Kerapatan tertinggi terdapat di daerah Kelopak Alai dengan nilai kerapatan yang tertinggi adalah pohon duku sebesar 325, dan Frekuensi tertinggi terdapat di daerah di daerah Kota Karang dengan nilai frekuensi yang tertinggi adalah pohon duku sebesar 87,50, sedangkan untuk Dominansi tertinggi terdapat di daerah desa Olak Rambahan dengan nilai dominansi yang tertinggi adalah pohon duku sebesar 3300,955.
