Abstract

This study examines the techno-journals and futuristic zines such as Boing Boing inscribe a kind of textual prologue for cyber-culture. They are valuable in themselves because they forge a much-needed connection between late print culture and the new cyberspatial network, formatting the matrix of this social space in ways that begin to define it. Wired magazine, for instance, participates in a cultural dialogue concerning issues of network privacy, governmental regulation, and censorship. Wired also sponsors HotWired, its online counterpart, where participants can exchange information, chat with live guests, and buy, sell, or trade computers and software products. Boing Boing, while differing from Wired in their hyperbolic presentation, share the techno-journal's fascination with "New Edge" culture, which includes, in addition to a hacker-like obsession with computers, technological phenomena such as raves, body alteration, smart drugs, and techno-spiritual movements. Because the communications revolution has brought about a phenomenological change in our perceptions of lived experience. These publications could be said to provide a type of public service by offering interfacing media that connect the user-friendly world of print with the phenomenon of cyberspatial networking. Yet, for all of their cutting-edge potential as links to the democratizing venues of cyberspace or as media for constructing alternative cybertextual practices, many of these techno-journals remain disturbingly vested in the politics of late capitalist culture. This includes heralding the new technologies in what amounts to an almost nostalgic longing for the ultimate "metanarrative"—pronouncing technological libertarianism and combining social consciousness with rampant consumerism.

Abstract

This research aims to show Islamic views through the Qur'an and Hadith regarding inter-religious harmony and then create a framework for the formation of communication ethics which can possibly be formed through reformulation of contextual interpretive meaning through Islamic views, historical descriptions and assessments regarding the ethics of inter-religious communication according to the textual Islamic view as a formula framework for an ethical approach to inter-religious communication, which not only can be seen for its validity philosophically, logically, and can be tested analytically, but can also be used as a practical reference in universal inter-religious communication practices considering the current conditions of inter-religious harmony. Paul Receur's Hermeneutic Phenomenology Approach is a form of approach that will be used to examine several frameworks of Al-Qur'an and Hadith texts relating to inter-religious harmony in this research. Research results show that the ethical approach in interreligious communication according to the textual Islamic perspective, is an approach or method by which people of different religions should communicate with each other in all matters, anywhere and in any relationship, optimally making ethicality a perspective and basis for consideration. Islam textually considers it important and has regulated broadly and in detail the approach by which people of different religions should communicate with each other in all matters, wherever and in any relationship, optimally making ethicality a point of view and basic considerations.

Abstract

Background: Drug-resistant tuberculosis (TB-DR) is a deadly disease caused by infectious agents. Indonesia is one of the countries with the highest drug-resistant tuberculosis (TB-DR) rates in the world. The prevalence of tuberculosis cases in Depok City between 2019-2022 showed an increase in cases every year. This study aims to measure the level of adherence of drug-resistant tuberculosis (TB-DR) patients to their treatment using the Eight-Item Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) questionnaire. Methods: This study is an observational study using a cross-sectional study design, conducted from February 2024 to March 2024 at the University of Indonesia Hospital. Eighty-seven respondents participated in this study. Respondents completed the validated Indonesian version of the MMAS-8 questionnaire after signing informed consent forms. Results: The results of the study showed that 50.6% of respondents had low adherence levels, 47.1% had moderate adherence levels, and 2.3% had high adherence levels. The data was then statistically analyzed using the SPSS version 29 statistical package with Chi-Square analysis, which resulted in a significant correlation (P<0.05) between adherence levels and gender. Conclusion: There was a significant correlation between gender and respondent adherence. More than 50% of drug-resistant tuberculosis (TB-DR) patients at the University of Indonesia Hospital still have low adherence levels to their treatment.

Abstract

Background: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) once became a major pandemic in the history of human health. Patients in severe to critical conditions, especially with comorbidities, are more likely to have complications such as ARDS, cytokine storm, higher mortality rates, and require more effective treatments. Emodin is a candidate regimen that has the potential benefit for COVID-19.Method: This literature review was synthesized with literature searches on journal databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, EMBASE, and the Google Scholar search engine. As a result, three main articles and 36 supporting articles were used to synthesize this literature review. Results: The pathogenesis of SARS-CoV-2 infection was similar to SARS-CoV infection, as demonstrated by Hoffmann et al, namely through the interaction of viral spike (S) protein with ACE2 receptors in the human body, so the inhibition of this interaction would be one of the therapeutic targets. Ho et al proved that emodin can inhibit the binding of the SARS-CoV S protein to ACE2 in vitro. The direct inhibition of S protein may also support the ACE2 cardioprotective function in patients with cardiovascular comorbidities. Emodin is also superior because it has various other benefits such as anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive activity. Based on the research of Dong et al, emodin can be given orally but in combination with inhibitors of glucuronidation, metabolism can increase the bioavailability of this drug. Conclusion: Emodin has the potential to be developed for the effective therapy of COVID-19.

The purpose of this study is to know the profile of women of home workers (Putting Out System/POS) in Kediri Regency, covering aspects of the establishment, categorisation, social security and the recognition of Putting Out System in Kediri Regency. The type of research developed in this study is a qualitative approach. The results showed that home workers were scattered in several areas in several sub-districts. Although no data indicates clearly but their existence is very significant. In carrying out its work, women of home workers face some of the following problems:(1) There is no written agreement about the terms and conditions, (2) Low wages; based on the product unilaterally determined by the employer. (3) No labor social protection. Even if they have health insurance, it is because they are in the status of poor households so it is entitled to the beneficiaries of government-managed healthcare social security (JKN-KIS, JKN-KIS District, JAMKESDA) or have BPJS Mandiri. The inhibitory factors of the change in the access of women of home workers to the collateral of social protection of man power are as follows: logging constraints, regulatory constraints, social and family norms that impede women to participate in mentoring collective pursuits. There are two things that can encourage poor female home workers to access the social protection of labor, which is participation in collective action and the ability to negotiate with employers

Abstract

Indonesia has been one of the three countries in Asia that contributes to the highest case of Tuberculosis (TB) in the world. Tuberculosis itself counted as the top ten cause of death globally. Two of the challenges in controlling TB cases are the occurrence of drug-resistance strain and patients’ adherence. Drug-resistant TB has to be treated with the second line drugs of TB with higher risk of adverse events. Linezolid as one of the suggested drugs by WHO in the treatment may increase patients’ risk of cytopenia events. This study was conducted to represent the profile of drug-resistant TB obtained from Rumah Sakit Universitas Indonesia (RSUI) Depok period October 2024. Design of this study is a quantitative-descriptive where the data of patients obtained from the patients’ medical records in the period of October 2024. The findings of this study showed the total number of drug-resistant TB was 104 with 3 cases of HIV and 70 patients having Linezolid in their regimen. Most of the patients are male with mean of age 41.3 years. New cases and RR/MDR TB level are dominated while on the other hand there’s 9 cases of After Failure and 4 others are After Loss to Follow-up. Median values obtained for patients’ leukocytes, hemoglobin, and platelets are 7818.0, 11.9, 279.5 respectively.
