Abstract

This study examines the relation between potential growth in the context of micro, small, medium enterprises by evaluating several factors, i.e. lack of marketing ability, inadequate business training, technological backwardness, poor quality of products, lack of innovation, unfavorable legal and regulatory framework, insuficient capital, and shortage of skilled labor. The data collected is from 196 self-employed enterprises in Jakarta, Indonesia. Results indicate that unfavorable legal and regulatory framework is the most affecting factor to slow down the growth of small businesses as well as a hindrance to its exports opportunities abroad. The further investigation of demographic factors shows how the differences canadd to ourunderstanding in the potential growth of smallbusinesses.

Abstract

This research aimed to identify the business strategy formulation by the shareholders and the management of the company. Ten companies were selected to be the objects of this research. Those companies were the information technology, telecommunication, printing, mining, construction and chemical companies in Indonesia. The research was conducted by using the Analytical Network Process (ANP) and considering the chosen respondents as the decision makers (experts) of those companies. The respondents were chosen by using the non-probabilitty sampling method. The result shows that the roles of the company managements are considered m ore influental (0,57143) than the roles of the shareholders (0,28571). From the output of stakeholder’s condition, the best-stratified priority strategies are differentiation (0,600515), cost of leadership (0,230754) and focus (0,168731).

Abstract

The industry of providing devices and system integrators satellite ground segment is currently starting to erode with more efficient replacement telecommunications technologies such as fiber optic, wireless, and so on. In addition, satellite companies have begun to enter systems integrators business as one stop solution for customers. So, it is necessary for the provider of satellite ground segment devices and systems to re-analyze and to adjust their business strategy, to be more competitive, grow, avoid stagnation and losses. This paper used description methodology with case studies. PT PC in this case study is one of the ground segment satellite devices and system integrator company in Indonesia. This paper analyzes and provides points of advice to be done related to the results of the company's conclusions on situations and conditions using Michael Porter's 5 competitive forces and Business Model Canvas. As a result of the analysis, PT PC should strengthen the company with its uniqueness and upgrade the expertise, get more buyers and suppliers, and do diversification products and services to offset the substitutes. This paper has limitations which could be further interesting topics for the next paper.
