Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of the research was to find out and analyze the positive correlation between the students’ reading motivation and their reading comprehension at tenth grade students of SMAN 6 Kota Tangerang in academic years 2018/2019. The population of the research was the whole classes of tenth grade students of SMAN 6 Kota Tangerang which consist of 378 students. Then, there were 79 students was selected as the sample of the research by using Simple Random Sampling. The data were collected by using MRP-R Reading Survey to test students’ reading motivation (variable X) and Short Answer Task to test students’ reading comprehension (variable Y). The result of this research can prove the hypothesis that showed there is correlation between students’ reading motivation and their reading comprehension. In other hand, if students’ reading motivation is high then their reading comprehension will also high. So, it can be concluded that there is positive correlation between students’ reading motivation and their reading comprehension at tenth grade students of SMAN 6 Kota Tangerang in academic years 2018/2019.Keywords: correlation, reading comprehension, reading motivation AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mencari tau dan menganalisa hubungan positif antara motivasi membaca siswa dan pemahaman membaca siswa kelas 10 di SMAN 6 Kota Tangerang tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah semua kelas 10 dari SMAN 6 Kota Tangerang yang terdiri dari 378 siswa. Kemudian, di ambil 79 siswa sebagai sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik Simple Random Sampling. Data yang di kumpulkan menggunakan MRP-R Reading Survey untuk menguji motivasi membaca siswa (variabel X) dan Short Answer Task untuk menguji pemahaman membaca siswa (variabel Y). Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat membuktikan hipotesis yang menyatakan bahwa terdapat korelasi antara motivasi membaca siswa dan pemahaman membaca siswa. Dengan kata lain, semakin tinggin motivasi membaca siswa maka pemahaman membaca siswa akan tinggi juga. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan ada hubungan yang positif antara motivasi membaca siswa dan pemahaman membaca siswa kelas 10 di SMAN 6 Kota Tangerang tahun ajaran 2018/2019.Kata Kunci: korelasi, motivasi membaca, pemahaman membaca

Abstract

AbstrakThis research is conducted in order to improve students’ writing ability by using intensive reading at tenth grade of SMAN 14 Kabupaten Tangerang. In conducting this research the writer used qualitative descriptive as the method of the research. In this research used purposive sampling with the sample was 36 participants. To collect and analyzed the data, the writer used the information from observation, students’ writing test and interview. The result of observation and interview in this research showed that intensive reading can improve students’ writing ability on descriptive text. The result also supported by students’ writing test. It can be seen from students’ pre-test and post-test. The average score of pre-test was 30.1 or 35% and the average score of post-test was 55.4 or 65% of 36 students. The average score of post-test showed higher with increase score 25.3 or 30% of 36 students than their pre-test. It means intensive reading can improve students’ writing ability especially on descriptive text. From the result, the writer concluded that teaching writing descriptive text using intensive reading at tenth grade of SMAN 14 Kabupaten Tangerang can improve their writing ability. For the teachers and the further researchers, it is recommended that to implement this method in English classroom to improve students’ writing skill.Kata Kunci: descriptive text, intensive reading, writing ability

Abstract

Pandemi COVID-19 yang melanda dunia berdampak pada segala aspek kehidupan tak terkecuali dunia pendidikan. Pola pembelajaran tatap muka di sekolah telah bergeser dari pembelajaran tradisoonal tatap muka menjadi pembelajaran jarak jauh yang dilakukan secara online. Penerapan pembelajaran online di masa pandemi memaksa terjadinya transformasi digital dalam dunia pendidikan sehingga menimbulkan beberapa permasalahan, dua di antaranya adalah teknologi dan sumber daya manusia. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh FKIP Universitas Islam Syekh Yusuf berupa pendampingan belajar siswa sekolah dasar di wilayah Kebon Nanas Kota Tangerang. Lokasi tersebut dipilih berdasarkan laporan dari hasil studi pendahuluan. Metode yang digunakan beruoa ekspositori. Abstract

Stunting atau terhambatnya proses tumbuh kembang pada anak adalah masalah kesehatan global dimana memerlukan perhatian serius. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat di kampung Rawacana Kelurahan Gandasari Kota Tangerang menekankan pada peran kunci ibu dalam memastikan asupan gizi yang cukup selama kehamilan dan menyusui serta pengelolaan gizi dalam rumah tangga dimana mampu mendukung pertumbuhan anak. Diharapkan kegiatan Aksi Stop Stunting ini berguna bagi praktisi kesehatan, peneliti, dan masyarakat dalam upaya bersamaa pencegahan stunting untuk memastikan masa depan yang sehat bagi generasi mendatang. Langkah Aksi Stop Stunting ini harus diiringi dengan edukasi berkelanjutan, dukungan komunitas dan pemantauan pertumbuhan anak. Kata Kunci : Stunting, pertumbuhan, perkembangan, anak.

Abstract

A This study aims to determine the effect of inquiry-based learning model integrated mind mapping on students' problem-solving skills. This type of research is quantitative research with meta-analysis methods.  Data comes from international journals or proceedings published 2015-2023. Data search through ScienceDirect, Springer, ProQuest, ERIC and Taylor of Francis databases. Research should be selected for data in meta-analyses. The inclusion criteria are that research must be experimental methods or quasi-experiments, research indexed by Scopus, Sinta, Web of Science, Microsoft Academic and EBSCO, Research has an experimental class inquiry learning model integrated mind mapping and conventional model control class, research has a number of samples (N), correlation values (r), t, and F and a sample consisting of 1021 participants. Data analysis with the help of JASP to determine the value of effect size, heterogeneity test and publication bias. The results showed a positive influence of minde mapping-based inquiry learning model on students' problem solving skills ( z = 7.019; p < 0.001; 95% CI [0.61; 1.26]. This finding shows that the influence of mind mapping-based inquiry learning models is included in the very high category (rRE = 1.31).

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this research was to find the correlation between students' vocabulary mastery and their reading ability at the tenth grade of SMA Islam Al-Hasyimiyyah Kota Tangerang in academic year 2018/2019. This research used quantitative method, all of the population that was 67 students chose by the writer as the sample by using saturated sampling. In collecting the data, the writer made an instrument of vocabulary mastery and reading ability which approximate 40 multiple choices. Because the variable x (vocabulary mastery) was not normally distributed, testing of hypothesis was done by using Kendall's Tau-B test. Based on the calculation, correlation coefficient Kendall's Tau-B for vocabulary mastery and reading ability was 0,310. It means, the correlations between vocabulary mastery and reading ability were good correlation because it closer to 1. The significance value 0,000 < 0,05. It is indicated that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It means that there is significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and their reading ability at the tenth grade students of SMA Islam Al-Hasyimiyyah Kota Tangerang in academic year 2018/2019.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the effect of students' writing skill through Observational Learning in SMKI Al-Khoirat Kabupaten Tangerang. This research is quantitative method, 30 students as the sample which taken not random by using Quasi-Experimental as the research. This design will performed using only one group without a control group. Students' test were used by the researcher to collect the data. The hypotheses data was tested using formula of Wilcoxon, it was known the output 'test statistic' Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 < 0,05. Because the value of 0,000 is less than 0,05, It means, there is a significance differences between pre-test and post-test in experimental class using Observational Learning at the tenth grade of SMKI AL-KHOIRAT Kabupaten Tangerang, because before giving a treatment, the students lack knowledge in narrative text. Then, it was also known from the percentages students' post-test showing 79% students can pass writing skill, although many students cannot pass the KKM. Moreover students can improve their narrative writing skill after using observational learning method.

Abstract

YouTube is an online media platform containing a variety of videos. It is also a place to post, share, and download videos.Its users range from children, teenagers, adults to parents, and no exception including students. This study aims to investigate the effect of using YouTube on students’ motivation in learning English. A qualitative method was used in this study, its study literature review. This research used descriptive research design to process the data and to draw the conclusions. Researcher gathered data from collecting literature to describe the situation related to the use of Youtube to motivate students in learning English. The result of this study was found out the implementation of YouTube videos in learning English was showed a positive impact on students to be more motivated.

Abstract

This article aimed to analyze the student learning experiences during the pandemic at Universitas Islam Syekh-Yusuf Tangerang. The researchers used a qualitative method. The collecting data used interviews and observation. Interview conducted on several lecturers and academics to get data analysis. Then examined the results of the interviews to get the essence and data findings that could answer the problems of this study and hypotheses. Based on data analysis the researchers concluded that the digital or technology-based learning experience during the remote learning period in response to the pandemic has indicated that learning was exciting because either lecturers and students have established very synergistic collaborations to produce learning quality that was as expected. Therefore, the results of this study could be a meaningful input for future studies. Keywords: Student Learning Experience, Technology Based Learning, Learning From Home
