Abstract

Problem-solving is one of the skills the students need to master when learning mathematics. Based on observations, researchers found that students' mathematical problem-solving skills are lacking because students prioritize the learning outcomes than understanding the process of solving a problem. One of the teacher's efforts to solve these problems is to apply a problem-based learning model. This study aimed to investigate the process of students' mathematical problem-solving skills based on Polya's theory. The research conducted was qualitative. The subjects were 2 out of 30 Year 7 students selected based on the test results and information from the teacher, the selected students are one high-ability student and one student low ability student. Data collection involved tests and interviews. The results showed that high ability students was able to solve problems based on the four stages of Polya, while the low ability student wasnot be able to do many process of Polya. Therefore, there is still a need for closer teacher attention towards the students.

Abstract

Wood preservation using chemicals may pollute the environment. One of the efforts to reduce the effect is using naturally constituents from plants as preservative. The purpose of this study was to observe the effectiveness of soluble fraction in n-hexane, diethyl ether and ethyl acetate of pucung-wood bark after extracted in acetone to dry wood termite attack on paper disc. Pucung-wood (Pangium edule Reinw.) barks were dried and powdered and then cold-extracted with acetone. Thick extract solution in acetone was extracted in n-hexane solution. Soluble fraction in n-hexane was separated. Remained solution was extracted in diethyl ether. Soluble fraction was separated. Remained solution was extracted in ethyl acetate. Soluble fraction in ethyl acetate was separated. Each of soluble fractions was separated from the solution using evaporation method to obtain dry extracts. Each dry extracts were dissolved in each solution to make solutions with concentration of 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% and 10%. Filter paper was used as sample and soaked in the extract solution for 24 hours. After air-dried, filter paper was placed on petri dish and feed to 50 dry termites for 4 weeks. Results shown that 2.5% extract solution in n-hexane or in ethyl ether, or 5% in acetone or 10% in ethyl acetate were effectively inhibiting dry wood termite attack with mortality of 95 ~ 100%.

Abstract

Abstract. Children's development is usually accompanied by growth so it is more optimal and depends on a person's biological potential. This potential is the result of the interaction of various interrelated factors, namely genetic factors, bio-physical-psycho-social environment and behavior. The unique process and different end results give each child its own characteristics. This research uses a critical review method by reading various books, journals, or other publications related to the research topic discussed by comparing research methods, processing methods, and the results obtained from each article. The research results show that language development in late childhood can be seen from speech progress such as increasing vocabulary, forming sentences and pronunciation. In late childhood, language development reaches a higher level. Children are able to use more complex sentences. Emotional development in late childhood involves various changes and existence caused by learning experiences and self-understanding. Social development occurs quickly, and children begin to learn to adapt to their surroundings. Social development in children requires the role of parents, educators (teachers) and the environment in synergy to develop social aspects in children so that they are able to socialize with the surrounding environment.

Abstract

Abstract. Pancasila and citizenship education have a large role in the context of national and state life in Indonesia and the formation and maintenance of a democratic state. Pancasila education is important to be able to educate about moral values, strengthen national identity, the basis for political maturity, safeguard social stability, maintain the sovereignty and integrity of the state, understand the rights and obligations as citizens, strengthen national identity and a sense of belonging to the state, prepare to actively participate in democratic life, foster democratic attitudes, respect for diversity, and support sustainable social and economic development. Thus, Pancasila and citizenship education is not only important for individual interests, but also for the stability, progress and sustainability of the country in the long term. The research method used in this research is a literature study that uses analysis through various sources such as books, journals, articles and other types of documents that support: Research findings show that Pancasila and Citizenship Education is very important to maintain the existing basic values of Indonesian citizens. Even before Pancasila was born, it was to prevent the erosion of these values which could threaten national resilience and sovereignty by liberal values from foreign countries and cultures. Where Pancasila and Citizenship Education is not just a lesson in the world of education, but is also an effort to shape national character and awareness for each individual in building a better Indonesia, maintaining state stability, progress and long-term sustainability of the country.

Abstract

Indonesia, as a megadiverse country has a wealth of tropical plants which are used in traditional medicine, including Vernonia amygdalina Del. or African leaves, which are known to have various pharmacological properties. This plant contains bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, and saponins, which have the potential to be used as an effective alternative herbal treatment. The aim of this literature study is to explore the pharmacological potential of Vernonia amygdalina Del. (African leaves) as a medicinal plant rich in bioactive compounds. This research method was carried out using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The result of researchs related to Vernonia amygdalina pharmacological potential and its bioactive compound was extracted from research article that published in Indonesia on 2018-2024. Based on research on previous studies, it was found that the pharmacological effects of African leaves (Vernonia amygdalina) include antioxidants which show moderate antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 107,839 ppm, antibacterial containing flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and alkaloids which have antibacterial activity, antihyperlipidemia which has been proven to be effective in increases HDL levels in mice and reduces free cholesterol, especially at high doses comparable to simvastatin, anticancer which has anticancer potential with strong cytotoxic activity against WiDr cells, and anti-diabetic which can increase pancreatic cell regeneration and reduce blood glucose levels. Based on a literature review, it can be concluded that African Leaf extract (Vernonia amygdalina) contains various bioactive compounds that have potential as antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-cholesterol, anticancer, and anti-diabetic agents.

Abstract

The family is the earliest and most important institution in a person's life. The role of the family is very important in shaping character and influencing children's development. The family has a responsibility to provide education to their children. In the family environment, children learn about the values, norms, and behaviors accepted in society. Parents act as the main models/role models in shaping children's character, teaching them about the world, helping them learn to read, write, and develop other knowledge and skills. By providing good education, families encourage children's growth and development in various aspects of life. Emotional and psychological support is important for children's development. When children feel loved, accepted, and supported by their families, they feel safe and confident. Adequate attention and affection help children develop positive self-esteem and overcome challenges in life. In a harmonious family environment, children feel comfortable sharing their feelings.
