Abstract

Cinnamon is an important commodity in Indonesia. Cinnamon harvesting is destructive, requiring seedlings to replace harvested plants. Preparing quality seedlings is one effort to increase plant productivity. The study aims to obtain the right combination of NPK compound fertilizer with Bioneensis biofertilizer to support the growth of cinnamon seedlings. The study was conducted from May to August 2024. Field research was conducted at the Rice Seed Center in Jembatan Mas Village, Pemayung District, Batanghari Regency. Plant growth analysis was conducted at the Basic Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Batanghari University. Soil chemical analysis was conducted at the BSIP Laboratory. The study used a completely randomized environmental design and a treatment design in the form of a combination of NPK fertilizer with Bioneensis biofertilizer (k) as follows; k0: control, k1: 100% NPK, k2: 100% Bioneensis, k3: 75% NPK + 25% Bioneensis, k4: 50% NPK + 50% Bioneensis, k5: 25% NPK + 75% Bioneensis. The parameters observed were chemical and physical analysis of the soil, plant height, stem diameter, total dry weight, shoot root ratio, water content of the planting medium and seedling quality index. The soil analysis data were tabulated and the plant growth observation data were analyzed for variance and continued with the Duncan test at the α level of 5%. The results showed that the treatment did not change the soil fertility status except for phosphorus content. The treatment significantly affected the seedling growth parameters. The results showed that the k5 treatment (25% NPK fertilizer (dose 2.5 g) + 75% Bioneensis (dose 4.68 g)) increased seedling height by 31.18%; stem diameter by 22.50%; total dry weight by 91.68%; and quality index by 70%. The k5 treatment decreased the shoot root ratio by 20.09%. Bioneensis fertilizer can substitute NPK fertilizer by 75%.

Abstract

Pengaturan kalender tanam dan model budidaya menjadi sangat menarik untuk dikaji terutama pada lahan rawa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan model budidaya padi di lahan rawa dalam menunjang Upsus Pajale. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Simpang Datuk Kecamatan Nipah Panjang, Desa Marga Mulya Kecamatan Rantau Rasau dan Kelurahan Simpang Kecamatan Berbak pada bulan Pebruari sampai Agustus 2017. Sumber data penelitian ini adaah data primer yang bersumber dari penyuluh pertanian lapangan, data sekunder dari instansi terkait yang berhubungan dengan kajian, dan data empiris lapangan didapat dari pengamatan langsung di lapangan. Total populasi adalah 100 orang terdiri dari 38 orang di Kecamatan Nipah Panjang, 35 orang di Kecamatan Rantau Rasau dan 27 orang di Kecamatan Berbak. Pengambilan sampel dengan sistem acak sederhana. Hasil yang didapat adalah model budidaya padi rawa yang menunjang Program Pajale di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur adalah pertanaman dengan indeks 200 yaitu Gertak Tanpa Dusta dan Senam Dupa. Perbedaan model tanam ini disebabkan oleh kelembaban areal tanam. Pengaturan kalender tanam agar nilai intensitas pertanaman mencapai 200% dilakukan sebagai berikut; Desa Simpang Datuk dan Marga Mulya musim tanam I pada bulan Oktober sampai Maret dan musim tanam II pada bulan April sampai September. Di Kelurahan Simpang, kalender tanam dimulai pada bulan September sampai Pebruari untuk padi indukan dan bulan Maret sampai Mei untuk padi ratoon. Pendapatan usahatani meningkat 105,33% bila petani melaksanakan model budidaya Gertak Tanpa Dusta.

Abstract

The cultivation of cocoa plants that began in nurseries, is an effort to increase cocoa production. High yields can be achieved with high-quality cocoa beans. This study aims to obtain a combination treatment of NPK inorganic fertilizer with the best Bioneensis bioorganic fertilizer to support the growth of cocoa seedlings. This study used a one-factor Complete Randomized Design. The treatment design tested was Bioneensis bioorganic fertilizer and NPK fertilizer with 5 levels of dosage and 3 replications. as follows:  b0 : Control, b1 : 7.5 g NPK fertilizer, b2 : 9.9 g Bioneensis fertilizer, b3 : 5 g NPK fertilizer (66.7% of b1) + 3.3 g of Bioneensis fertilizer (33.7% of b2), and b4: 2.5 g NPK fertilizer (33.7% of b1) + 6.6 g of Bioneensis fertilizer (66.7% of b2). and b4: 2.5 g NPK fertilizer (33.7% of b1) + 6.6 g of Bioneensis fertilizer (66.7% of b2). Implementation of research in the form of land preparation and shade,  preparation of planting media,  seedling preparation, feeding, treatment, and maintenance of plants. Plant height, stem diameter, header dry weight, root dry weight, root crown ratio, and quality index are the parameters that are measured. The results of this study concluded that treatment of 2.5 g of NPK fertilizer combined with 6.6 g of Bioneensis biofertilizer will increase plant height by 60.10%, rod diameter by 43.86%, The dry weight of the header was 183.31%, the dry weight of the roots was 229.41%, and the quality index was 189.20% compared to the control.

Abstract

Cultivation techniques in tidal land are very important to support the growth and productivity of Tall Coconut. The purpose of this study was to determine the growth, production, and productivity of Tall Coconut in several field drain models. This research was conducted from December 2019 to January 2020 in the tidal area of Tanjung Api-Api Village, Sebrang District, Tungkal IV City, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency. This research was conducted using a survey method on farmers' gardens and unformatted trials. There are 4 models of field drain, namely model 1, model 2, model 3, model 4 and without field drain. The variables observed were soil pH and water quality, plant physics, fruit physics, and agronomic action. The research data were analyzed by statistic. The results showed that soil pH and water chemical quality showed that field drain  model 1 gave the best value with soil pH, water pH, iron, sulfur, and sodium content of 5.2, 5.4, 85 ppm, 119 mL-1, and 270 mL-1 respectively. The highest plant growth, production and productivity were found in plants with field drain model 2. Data on stem circumference, number of midribs, and number of bunches of knees were 81.10 cm, 25.8 strands, and 14.2 bunches respectively. Data of fruit weight, fruit circumference, coir thickness, weight of fruit without coir and productivity were 1,800 g, 59.2 cm, 3.2 cm, 1,003 kg, and 1,168 items hectar-1 year-1, respectively. Agronomic measures include controlling weeds with herbicides and generally without fertilizing. Field drain aims to facilitate coconut harvesting and to avoid the toxic effects of peat soil.

Abstract

The aims of this research were to determine the chemical characteristics and organoleptic quality of chocolate paste with different roasting temperatures using a coffee roasting tool. The environmental design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design Treatment design, namely different roasting temperatures, with 4 roasting temperature levels, as follows: t1 (130oC) ; t2 (140oC); t3 (150oC );  and t4 (160oC). The duration of roasting was carried out for 30 minutes. Each treatment was repeated 3 times so that there were 12 experimental units. The variables observed in this study were chemical characteristics including water content dry cocoa beans, acidity (pH) and fat content of roasted cocoa beans, while the organoleptic qualities observed were: color, aroma, taste, bitterness, and preference for chocolate paste. The The results showed that: different roasting temperatures have a significant effect on the fat content of the roasted cocoa beans, but are not significantly different on the pH of the roasted cocoa beans : color, aroma, taste, bitterness and preference for chocolate paste. The sensory test showed that panelists  preferred aroma, preferred taste, level of bitterness was slightly bitter and level of preference was liked were 130oC-160oC.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of photoperiod, indole acetic acid (IAA), and phosphorus on soybean plant growth and seed quality during storage. The trial was carried out at Sebapo Experimental Station, Jambi, Center for Post Harvest Research and Development, The Ministry of Agriculture and Center for Forest Research and Development, The Ministry of Forestry, Bogor from November 2009 until June 2010. Split-split plot design was used consisted of three factors, i.e. photoperiods (12 and 14 hours 54 minutes) as the main plot, concentrations of IAA (0, 75, and 150 ppm) as subplot, and dosages of phosphorus (0, 60, and 120 kg P2O5 ha-1) as subplot. The result showed that photoperiod, IAA, and phosphorus application had significantly improved production and seed quality. The path analysis showed that the weight of 1,000 seeds affected other variables. The seed protein content has the largest path coefficient compared to other variables. The treatment of mother plant with 14 hours 54 minutes photoperiod combined with IAA of 150 ppm and P2O5 of 120 kg ha-1 resulted in the highest seed quality during 90 days of storage in room temperature.

Abstract

Production of high quality seed is one of the key factors for soybean self-sufficiency. The study was aimed to produce high quality soybean seed from zero waste system. The trial was carried out at Sebapo Experimental Station, Jambi, Center for Agricultural Post Harvest Research and Development, and Center for Agricultural Land Resources Research and Development, The Ministry of Agriculture, Bogor, from January until October 2017. The experiment used a complete randomized design with a treatments combination both organic nutrient of composted soybean litter (5 tons ha-1) and inorganic nutrient (25 kg Nitrogen ha-1, 50 kg P2O5 ha-1, and 50 kg K2O ha-1). The treatments were designed as follow : K0 (control), K1 (100% organic), K2 (75% organic + 25% inorganic), K3 (50% organic + 50% inorganic), K4 (25% organic + 75% inorganic), and K5 (100% inorganic). The results showed that the treatment K3 produced the highest seed production (1.72 tons ha-1) and the highest 1,000 seed weight (147.71 g). After 3 months storage at room temperature, the seed with treatment K3 could maintain its quality with indicator 1,000 seed weight (140.98 g), 10.82% water content, 34.98% protein content, 57.42 μScm-1g-1 electrical conductivity, 80.98% germination percentage and 27.48% etmal-1 rate of germination speed.Keywords: Compost, litter, seed technology

Abstract

Pola konsumsi pangan desa-desa di Muaro Jambi terdapat ketimpangan.Pemanfaatan sumber pangan lokal seperti umbi, jagung dan sayuran masih rendah.Pengembangan konsep rumah pangan lestari di Desa Betung perlu dilakukan. Beberapa permasalahan hasil identifikasi awal yang menyebabkan rendahnya pemanfaatan sumber daya lokal dan sayuran oleh ibu-ibu rumah tangga di Desa Betung adalah: Dasa Wisma dan Kelompok wanita Tani (KWT) tidak akrif, tidak ada pemanfaatan pekarangan, dan nilai pola pangan harapan (PPH) yang rendah. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah masyarakat aktif melaksanakan konsep RPL, mengurangi pengeluaran rumah tangga, dan meningkatkan skor PPH. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan di RT 06 dan RT 07 Desa Betung. Organisasi masyarakat yang menjadi target adalah kelompok Dasa Wisma dan KWT. Pelaksanaan pengabdian pada Bulan Januari sampai Oktober 2018. Kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat berupa: pengaktifan kembali Dasa Wisma dan KWT, pembuatan Kebun Bibit Desa, Kebun Demplot, Rumah Kompos, dan Rumah Pangan Lestari. Kegiatan pemberdayaan dievaluasi untuk mengetahui dampak ekonomi, nilai PPH, dan persepsi kooperator terhadap kegiatan yang dilaksanakan. Selama masa pengabdian, masyarakat aktif mengikuti penyuluhan dan diskusi serta kegiatan yang dilaksanakan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa terjadi penghematan pengeluaran rumah tangga sebesar Rp. 150.000 sampai Rp. 200.000, peningkatan nilai PPH dari 78,5 menjadi 82,09, serta persepsi yang sangat setuju terhadap kegiatan pengabdian yang dilaksanakan.
