Abstract

The progress of science in the field of medicine is currently very rapid along with technological advances, but the use of traditional medicines is increasingly popular. This is due to the low side effects caused by traditional medicines, practical use, easy to obtain and affordable prices. North Sulawesi is one area that has so many types of plants, including leilem plants (Clerodendrum minahassae) of the genus Clerodendrum. Leilem plant is an endemic plant in North Sulawesi which is often consumed by vegetables as a vegetable and is usually added to meat processing. This study aims to determine the effect of ethanol extracts of leilem leaves on the description of urea, uric acid and creatinine values ​​in etylen glycol induced white rats. The study design, the treatment group was divided into 5 groups. The control group (P0), the ethylene glycol group (P1), the rockgin treatment group (P2), the ethanol extract group of leilem leaves at a dose of 150 mg / kgBB (P3), and the ethanol extract group of leilem leaves at a dose of 300 mg / kgBB (P4). The results showed that the ethanol extract of leilem leaves 150 mg / kgBB and 300 mg / kgBB could reduce the levels of ureum, creatinine and uric acid in rats with ethylene glycol treatment. Ethanol extract of leilem leaves 150 mg / kgBB was better in reducing levels of urea, creatinine and uric acid in rats compared with a dose of 300 mg / kgBB (p <0.05)

Abstract

E-learning is an indirect learning process using electronic devices and the internet which facilitates the teaching and learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic. E-learning could help students to be more active in independent learning with renewable learning references. The purpose of this study was to determine students' perceptions of e-learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. This descriptive study was conducted by using a questionnaire technique for Biology Education students at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Timor University. The total students involved in this study were 171 students from the first year until the third year who have been selected randomly; Students stated that they knew about using the internet as much as 97.7%, understood e-learning by 89.5% and the ease of operation was 85.5%. The implementation of e-learning with the Edmodo platform shows that it was most widely used, namely 54.7% of students, then Google Classroom with 45.3% of students. This is because students have not known yet about other various types of e-learning platforms available on the Internet and the two platforms were considered light and easy to operate with complete features. Meanwhile, 97.1% of students stated that e-learning was very useful in supporting the teaching and learning process. The main obstacle faced by students in e-learning were the unstable network connection, power outages, the availability of cellphones and data packages. This research could give the knowledge about the level of students’ knowledge about e-learning, various platforms and the obstacles faced during the implementation of e-learning.

Abstract

Masih rendahnya kesadaran akan bahaya virus Corona menyebabkan banyak masyarakat tidak menjalankan protokol kesehatan secara benar terutama di tempat ramai misalnya di Pasar Eban. Akibatnya peluang penyebaran virus Corona semakin tinggi. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan kembali penguatan perilaku untuk mencegah penularan penyakit Covid-19 kepada masyarakat di Pasar Eban Kefamenanu. Bentuk Kegiatan Pengabdian yang dilakukan adalah pembagian masker dan edukasi mengenai dampak penyakit Covid-19 kepada pedagang dan pengunjung Pasar Eban Kefamenanu. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah masyarakat dapat melakukan protokol kesehatan secara sadar dan benar yaitu melalui 3M: memakai masker, menjaga jarak dan menghindari kerumunan, serta mencuci tangan pakai sabun.

Abstract

Pendidikan dapat dimaknai sebagai proses yang dilakukan untuk mendukung proses belajar siswa sehingga siswa mampu mengembangkan potensi yang dimilikinya. Guna meningkatkan pencapaian tujuan pendidikan maka salah satu upaya yang harus dilakukan adalah mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang menarik yang dapat mendukung proses pembelajaran. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk melatih guru-guru SMP Neonbat Kefamenanu dalam menggunakan aplikasi screencast o matic sehingga dapat dihasilkan media pembelajaran dalam bentuk video. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa para guru SMP Negeri Neonbat sangat antusias untuk mempelajari penggunaan aplikasi screencast o matic dan para guru berharap kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa pengenalan berbagai aplikasi pembelajaran dapat dilakukan secara rutin di SMP Negeri Neonbat.

Abstract

Salah satu permasalahan lingkungan yang memerlukan perhatian serius adalah sampah. Sampah yang tidak dikelola dengan baik akan menimbulkan berbagai macam dampak. Pengelolaan sampah dengan pendekatan 3R memerlukan pengetahuan pengelompokkan sampah terlebih dahulu. Sosialiasi pengelolaan sampah di SMPS Gita Surya kepada 54 peserta didik kelas IX lebih menekankan pada pengetahuan pengelompokkan sampah ini. Tujuan diselenggarakan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah peserta didik dapat memahami pengelompokkan sampah menjadi sampah organik dan anorganik. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan pada 17-18 November 2020. Keberhasilan pengabdian ini dilihat dari peningkatan pengetahuan siswa dengan membandingkan nilai pretest dan post-test. Lembar pretest dan post-test diberikan secara acak kepada 26 orang peserta. Berdasarkan hasil post-test yang mengalami peningkatan, maka kegiatan pengabdian ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta mengenai pengelompokkan sampah organik dan anorganik

Abstract

Pelaksanaan pembelajaran Biologi sangat bergantung pada ketersediaan specimen awetan hewan sebagai objek pembelajaran di laboratorium. Pembuatan specimen awetan hewan atau insektarium sanagat memerlukan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam pembuatannya. Dengan demikian sangat penting untuk dilakukan pengabdian yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan membuat spesimen awetan makhluk hidup pada siswa SMA/SMK di Kecamatan Insana. Metode kegiatannya adalah mendemonstrasikan dan melatih Siswa membuat spesimen awetan hewan. Pelatihan dipandu oleh tim dosen dan mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Biologi FIP Unimor. Serta pedoman pembuatan insektarium. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada bulan maret 2022 di SMK Perikanan Wini yang dihadiri oleh 20 peserta. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah Spesimen awetan biologi berupa Insektarium kering dan basah. Serta pedoman pembuatan insektarium. Peserta pelatihan sangat antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan, mereka berharap kegiatan serupa lebih sering dilakukan di sekolah terkait peningkatan keterampilan yang inovatif dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to explore, identify and describe the types of Lichenes in the foothills of Mount Mutis in Eban Village. This research was conducted in April-July 2022 using a qualitative descriptive approach with the reconassance method. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique by taking samples, collecting and collecting them to assist in the laboratory. The results of research that have been carried out by lichens found at the foot of Mount Mutis, Eban Village, West Miomaffo District, amount to 21 types of lichen species with descriptions: Leptogium azureum, Pertusaria sp, Lepraria Loficans, Lepraria incana, Parmelia saxatilis, Parmotrema tinctorum, Cetrelia olivetorum, Heterodermia japonica, Usnea hirta, Parmotrema perlatum, Graphis scripta, Graphis sp 1, Graphis sp 2, Haematomma accolens, Cryptothecia striata, Bacidia schweinitzii, Bacidia sp, Dirinaria applanate, Opegrapha gyrocarpa, Lecidella elaeochroma, Caloplaca ferruginea. The most common lichen groups were the 12 families Parmeliaceae most commonly found in research lines with 5 species, Graphidaceae 4 species, Bacidia 2 species, Stereocaulaceae 2 species, and Collemataceaee, Pertusariaceae, Haematommataceae, Artho-niaceae, Physciaceae, Opegraphaceae, Lecidellaleceae, Teloschistaceae 1 species each. Lichen substrate found living on tree trunks, tree stalks and rocks. The form of lichen thallus that was most commonly found was Crustose which was 62%, then Foliose thallus was 33% and Fruticose was 5%. The diversity of mosses in the study area is strongly influenced by both abiotic and biotic environmental factors. The type of Licen found in Eban Village is a Lichen which is able to adapt to an environment which incidentally is dominated by dry land.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and identify the types of Lichenes that exist at the Mutis Mount Area, Noepesu Village, West Miomaffo District, and the Biology Education Laboratory, University of Timor. This research was conducted for 6 months starting from May-October 2022. This research is descriptive qualitative research. Sampling used a purposive sampling method. The collected Lichenes were identified based on their characteristics using the determination key and then matched with the photo collection. Morphological observation of lichenes was conducted at the Biology Education Laboratory, University of Timor using a microscope. The result of observations and collections based on this research conducted in the Mutis Mount area found 29 species of Lichenes with 12 families, the species found were Septennium azureum, Parmotrema tinctorum, Parmotrema perlatum, Parmelia sulcate, Parmelia sp, Flavoparmelia afternoondians, Usnea hirta, Usnea sp 1, Pyxine subcinerea, Cryptothecia sp, Dirinaria sp, Lepraria Lobificans, Lepraria incana, Lepraria sp 1, Hydropunctaria maura, Candelariella sp, Arthonia ilicina, Arthonia Radiata, Arthonia Clemens, Graphis Scipta, Graphis sp1, Graphis sp2, Graphis sp3, Graphis sp4, Graphis sp5, Graphis sp6, Ramalina farinaceae, Cryptothechia striata, and Bacidia insularis. Lichenes were found in soil, weathered wood, tree trunks, and rocks with thallus morphology, namely Crustose, Foliose, Fructicose, and Squamulose.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui jenis gulma dan indeks keanekaragaman gulma pada tanaman jagung di Kecamatan Insana Tengah Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kuadrat sebanyak 10 plot dengan ukuran 1x1 m2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan 11 Famili dengan 614 Individu pada lokasi penelitian. Spesies paling banyak ditemukan yaitu famili Asteraceaae sebanyak 403 individu, Famili Euphorbiaceae sebanyak 67 individu, Famili Poaceae sebanyak 65 Individu dan Spesies paling sedikit ditemukan yaitu Famili Fabaceae dimana ditemukan 2 individu. Spesies gulma yang memiliki nilai SDR tertinggi dan terendah yaitu Sinedrella nodiflora L. dengan nilai SDR: 38,89%, dan Desmodium triflorium L. DC merupakan gulma yang memiliki nilai SDR paling rendah yaitu SDR: 1,66%. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman jenis gulma yaitu H’=1,461 dengan kategori sedang.

Abstract

Mining activities are required to carry out reclamation. Reclamation efforts are aimed at restoring the condition of the mined land. The manganese mine in Kaubele Village has been carried out since 2011 but there has been no clear reclamation effort, causing the land to be abandoned. The study aimed to determine the vegetation and seed banks found on former manganese mining land in Kaubele Village, Biboki Moenleu District. This activity was carried out in July - December 2022 on former manganese mining land in 2010 and 2018. Vegetation was collected using a purposive sampling method. At each observation location, 5 main points were taken. Each point at each location is spread by 250 points with a 2 m x 2 m plot. The soil was taken at a depth of 0-20 cm and an area of 30 cm x 30 cm. Furthermore, it is placed in the nursery media for 3 months to find out the vegetation that grows. Vegetation and seed banks were analyzed based on species density, relative density, species frequency, relative frequency, and important value index. Vegetation analysis is a step in determining plants to restore ex-mining land. The vegetation in 2018 had more species compared to 2010. At both locations, there were the same 3 plants, namely Cynodon dactylon L. with an IVI of 21.421% (2010) and an IVI of 17.605% (2018), Chromolaena odorata L. with an IVI of 10.409% (2010) and IVI of 9.125% (2018), and Malvella leprosa (Ortega) krapov. with an IVI of 8.097% (2010) and an IVI of 7.031% (2018). Analysis of seed banks shows that there are 7 similar seeds found in different mining locations with respective IVI of Dactyloctenium aegyptium L. 78.550 % (2010) and 14.169 % (2018), Chloris virgata Trin 13.113 % (2010) and 8.986 % (2018), Panicum virgatum L. IVI 20.384 % (2010) and 46.834 (2017). (2018), Synedrella nodiflora L. IVI 22.068 % (2010) and 14.169 (2018), and Phyllanthus urinaria L. IVI 13.177 % (2010) and 12.957 % (2018).
