Abstract

Mulawarman University have the largest number of students in Kalimantan (37,000). This amount has the potential to be smokers supported by the non-realization of non-smoking areas in all faculties and the high circulation of cigarettes through the mobilization of street vendors and retail franchises. The purpose of this study was to find out the dominant factors influencing cigarette sales in the environment of street vendors in Mulawarman University. The design of this study is quantitative research to analyze the correlation between cigarette sales figures, types or brands of cigarettes, attributes and types of cigarette promotion media, knowledge and smoking behavior of street vendors. Statistical analysis on ordinal data using the Spearman analysis test, nominal data using contingency coefficients and ratio data using Pearson analysis. The results of this study are the average cigarette sales per day is 311 cigarettes with the highest cigarette sales is 1760 cigarettes, the type of cigarette promotion media is (55%) banners. The variables that have correlation to cigarette sales are types of cigarette sales places (p = 0.047, R = -0.257); the use of media promotion display (p = 0.002, R = 0.390) and profits from selling cigarettes in rupiah nominal (p = 0.000, R = 0.557). Limiting cigarette promotions around the campus and increasing regulation of non-smoking areas at the maximum is needed. Keywords: Sales promotion, cigarettes, smoking behavior

Abstract

Inability of individuals and household in providing adequate, nutritious and safe food will continue in conditions of food insecurity, which have an impact on malnutrition. Women play an important role in maintaining household food security while they are also vulnerable to food insecurity. This study aim to examine correlation between food insecurity and women nutritional status. This was a cross sectional study, with sample consist of 128 women in reproductive age who lived in palm plantation area in Kutai Kertanegara. The sampling technique was purposive. Food insecurity was assessed by the Radimer/ Cornell Hunger and Food Insecurity Instrument Questionnaire. The nutritional status of women measured by Body Mass Index and upper arm circumference. Bivariate Analysis was performed by Chi Square test. Household food insecurity was reported in 27.3% women, individual food insecurity was found in 29.7% women, and 8.6% child hunger. Bivariate analysis showed there is no significant correlation between food insecurity with nutritional status based on BMI or upper arm circumference. It should be made a comprehensive public health nutrition program to address food insecurity in remote area. Future studies would need more adequate study design and larger sample size to examine women nutritional status and food insecurity. Keywords : Food insecurity, nutritional status, palm-plantation

Abstract

Anak usia sekolah merupakan salah satu kelompok yang rentan terhadap gizi. Pusat Pengembangan Anak (PPA) melibatkan anak-anak dari keluarga dengan ekonomi menengah ke bawah yang berisiko mengalami malnutrisi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan status gizi dengan pola asuh ibu, ketahanan pangan dan asupan gizi anak usia sekolah. Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif korelasi dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah total sampling sebanyak 50 anak yang terdaftar dalam Pusat Pengembangan Anugerah yang berusia 6-12 tahun. Hasil penelitian status gizi anak usia sekolah berdasarkan TB/U menunjukan hasil 92% anak memiliki status gizi normal namun ditemukan anak dengan kategori status gizi buruk sebesar 16%, gizi kurang sebanyak 4%, gizi lebih 14% dan obesitas sebesar 12% berdasarkan indeks antropometri IMT/U. Mayoritas ibu responden (74%) memiliki pola asuh demokratis. Dilihat dari segi ketahanan pangan keluarga, sebagian besar berada pada kategori rawan pangan dengan kelaparan sedang dengan persentase sebesar 64%. Hasil uji chi square diperoleh nilai p value < 0,05 pada variable pola asuh ibu dengan status gizi anak usia sekolah berdasarkan Indeks antropometri IMT/U dan antara variable asupan gizi dengan status gizi anak usia sekolah berdasarkan indeks antrompometri TB/U dan IMT/U. Sementara nila p value > 0,05 ditemukan pada vaiabel ketahanan pangan dengan status gizi anak. Disimpulkan terdapat hubungan antara pola asuh ibu dan asupan dengan status gizi anak, meskipun tidak terdapat hubungan antara ketahanan pangan dengan status gizi gizi anak

Abstract

The government has developed initiatives to restrictive activity during the COVID-19 pandemic, which have led to changes in lifestyle habits, especially those involving physical activity and food consumption. Changes of physical activity and ultra-processed foods consumption have occurred in several countries during the COVID-19 pandemic. The changing of lifestyle might affect obesity that 32.5% of the population (>18 years) in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Indonesia are obese. Good eating behaviours in the early stages of life and adolescence can influence the current health status and the predisposition to non-communicable diseases in adulthood. Therefore, this cross-sectional study with 378 college students aimed to determine changes of physical activity and ultra-processed foods consumption in college students during restrictive activity in the COVID-19 pandemic. Data was collected using an online questionnaire for two months. Further, data was analyzed using Wilcoxon and chi-square test with 95% confidence level (α= 0.05). This study showed that the prevalence of normal nutritional status was 60.1%, inactive physical activity status was 89.4%, and the consumption level of ultra-low processed foods was 82.5%. Statistical tests obtained p-value differences in physical activity (p=<0.001) and differences in ultra-processed food consumption (p=0.034) before and after the restrictive activity in the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, mother's educational level (p=0.004) and the number of occupants in the house (p=0.001) significantly affected the consumption of ultra-processed  foods.

Abstract

Latar belakang & Tujuan: Stunting merupakan masalah gizi nasional. Berbagai factor bai secara langsung maupun secara tidak langsung mempengaruhi berkembangnya kejadian stunting. Faktor akses terhadap pelayanan Kesehatan, perilaku konsumsi keluarga, kondisi rumah dan lingkungan serta kebiasaan cuci tangan pakai sabun merupakan penyebab tidak langsung yang memberi kontribusi lebih besar jiakka diidentifikasi ataupun ditangani dengan tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberi gambaran mengenai factor penyebab tidak langsung yang berkaitan dengan kejadian stunting. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang menggali informasi mengenai akses terhadap pelayanan Kesehatan, perilaku konsumsi keluarga, kondisi rumah dan lingkungan serta kebiasaan cuci tangan pakai sabun. Respinden penelitian ini adalah 100 kepala keluarga di wilayah RT 23 dan RT 24 kelurahan bukuan kecamatan palaran, samarinda. Hasil : ini menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas keluarga mengakses puskesmas dan klinik sebagai tempat pelayanan Kesehatan. (89% dan 91%). mayoritas (65%) telah mengkonsumsi menu lengkap yang terdiri dari makanan pokok, lauk pauk, sayuran dan buah), namun masih terdapat 45% keluarga dengan menu makanan yang belum terkategori lengkap. Sebagian besar (89%) kondisi rumah memenuhi syarat 99% tersedia jamban, 62% kualitas air memenuhi syarat, namun masih ditemukan 41% rumah terdapat jentik di tempat penampungan air. Kesimpulan: Masih diperlukan upaya intervensi secara intensif dengan pendekatan keluarga untuk memperbaiki perilaku gizi keluarga, kondisi rumah dan lingkungan serta perilaku cuci tangan keluarga.

Abstract

Refreshing cadres' knowledge of anthropometric measurement procedures that are in accordance with standards is very important to be able to determine the proper nutritional status of children, especially for early detection and prevention of stunting. For this reason, it is important to increase knowledge through media of posters and leaflets that can be used by cadres at any time. Community service was carried out by involving 17 posyandu cadres in the working area of the Samarinda Kota health center in December 2022. The programs consisted of media design, followed by socialization and education at the posyandu. The media that has been designed is given to cadres during socialization and education. In addition, the practice of using media correction of anthropometric measurement procedures is also carried out. After being given education, there was an increase in pre-post test knowledge by 35.3%. It is necessary to periodically update the material of anthropometric measurement procedures to ensure the accuracy of measurements and measurement skills to evaluate the accuracy of cadre measurements.

Abstract

Prevalensi stunting di Indonesia masih menjadi masalah kesehatan masyarakat karena prevalensinya di atas 20%. Terdapat berbagai faktor yang mempengaruhi kejadian stunting, antara lain pelaksanaan Inisiasi Menyusu Dini (IMD), dan dukungan dari petugas kesehatan. Pandemi COVID-19 memberikan dampak yang cukup besar terutama terhadap kesehatan ibu dan bayi, dukungan dari tenaga kesehatan sangat dibutuhkan sebagai pendukung dalam pelaksanaan EBI. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelaksanaan inisiasi menyusu dini dan pendampingan tenaga kesehatan terhadap kejadian bayi stunting usia 6-12 bulan pada masa pandemi COVID-19 di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Muara Rapak Balikpapan. Metode penelitian ini adalah case control dengan rasio case control 1:1, jumlah sampel 56 responden. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan data sekunder dari pengukuran antropometri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 85,7% bayi stunting tidak melaksanakan EBI. Analisis statistik menggunakan uji chi square diperoleh p-value = 0,000 (p < 0,05) untuk variabel pelaksanaan EBI, dan nilai p-value = 0,313 (p > 0,05 ) untuk variabel dukungan tenaga kesehatan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa bayi yang tidak mendapatkan IMD memiliki resiko 13 kali kejadian stunting dibandingkan bayi yang mendapatkan IMD.

Abstract

Background: Nutritional problems in adolescent need special attention because it greatly affects their growth and development. The prevalence of obesity according to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (2020) is 13.5% in adolescents aged 16-18 years. Adolescents who are obese have a risk of health problems such as the heart and blood vessel systems. Purpose: This study aimed to determine the effect of diet, physical activity, and genetics of obesity in Vocational High School adolescents in the working area of Puskesmas Segiri. Methods: The research design was a 1:1 case-control with a total sample size of 110 adolescents. Data collection used the Food Frequency Questionnaire, Physical Activity Questionnaire for Adolescents, genetic questionnaires, and secondary data from anthropometric measurements. The data analysis used the chi-square test with a significant odds ratio of 0.05. Result: The results showed that there was a significant influence between diet and obesity in adolescents (p = 0.003), there was no significant effect between physical activity on the incidence of obesity in adolescents (p = 0.003). 0.820) and there is a significant influence between genetics on the incidence of obesity in adolescents (p = 0.000). Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, there is an influence between dietary pattern and genetic factors on the incidence of obesity, but physical activity does not affect there is no influence between physical activity on the incidence of obesity. Adolescents are advised to limit risky food and drink habits and can change healthy lifestyles.Abstrak. Latar belakang: Masalah gizi remaja perlu mendapat perhatian khusus karena sangat berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan perkembangan tubuh. Prevalensi obesitas menurut kemenkes RI (2020) yakni sebesar 13,5% pada remaja usia 16-18 tahun. Remaja yang mengalami obesitas memiliki risiko pada gangguan kesehatan seperti system jantung dan pembuluh darah. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh pola makan, aktivitas fisik, dan genetik terhadap kejadian obesitas pada remaja SMK kelas X di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Segiri. Metode: Desain penelitian ini adalah case control 1:1 dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 110 remaja. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner Food Frequency Questionnaire, Physical Activity Questionnaire for Adolescent, kuesioner genetik, dan data sekunder hasil pengukuran antropometri. Analisis data menggunakan uji chi square dengan odds ratio dengan signifikan 0,05. Hasil: Penelitian menunjukan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara pola makan terhadap kejadian obesitas pada remaja (p=0,003), tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara aktvitas fisik terhadap kejadian obesitas pada remaja (0,820) dan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara genettik terhadap kejadian obesitas pada remaja (p=0,000). Simpulan: Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terdapat pengaruh antara pola makan terhadap kejadian obesitas, tidak terdapat pengaruh antara aktivitas fisik terhadap kejadian obesitas, dan terdapat pengaruh antara genetik terhadap kejadian obesitas. Dianjurkan para remaja dapat membatasi kebiasaan makanan minum yang berisiko dan dapat merubah gaya hidup sehat.

Abstract

Background : Nutrition problems in toddlers become a public health problem when it exceeds WHO indicators in which the issue of malnutrition and undernutrition 17.8%, short toddlers 27.5% and thin toddlers 11.1%. The problem of undernutrition, short and thin toddlers are public health problem in the chronic category.Objective :  to determine the factor related to the nutritional status of toddlers in Loa Ipuh Health Centre. The design of this research is a cross-sectional study with total sample of 97 toddlers. Data collection uses anthropometric measurements, 24 hours of form food recall and questionnaires for mother's knowledge of breastfeeding complementary feeding and the utilization of health services.Method : Data analysis is using Pearson product-moment test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between the food intake with the WAZ (P=0,000), HAZ (P=0,000) and  WHZ (P=0,021), mother's knowledge about complementary feeding with the WAZ (P=0,041), HAZ (P=0,010) and WHZ (P=0,010), utilization of health services with the WAZ (P=0,007), HAZ (P=0,009) and WHZ (P=0,006). Result : there is a significant positive relationship between intake of toddler feeding, mother's knowledge about complementary feeding and the utilization of health services with the nutritional status of toddlers WAZ, HAZ, and WHZ. Access to health services should be improved and evenly distributed throughout the health centre area.Conclusion : There is a significant positive relationship between food intake for children under five, maternal knowledge about complementary foods and health service utilization with the nutritional status
