Abstract

Fiber to The Home (FTTH) is one of the optical networks used for every home in accessing the internet in the form of voice, data, and video. In this study, the authors built an FTTH design from a Handheld Light Source (HLS) as input, then connected it to ODC. Furthermore, it is connected with ODP, OTP, and ROSET. After building the design, the design was tested using the link power budget calculation method, which is 22.803 dB. As a result, the design has a total attenuation value of 18.4 dB which means it meets the standards and can be used. Next, analyze the problems that have the potential to cause macro bending interference in the FTTH home cable installation segment cable. The methods used in this macro bending problem are the HLS calibration method, Optical Power Meter (OPM) measurement, and Visual Fault Locator (VFL) macro damage detection. From this analysis, the results of macro bending will be obtained on the parameters of curvature diameter, the number of windings, and the search for critical angles of indoor cable macro bending. This macro bending in-home wiring installations affect the total attenuation value on FTTH. In addition, the macro bending of 3-winded indoor cables with a diameter of 0.5 cm on each winding still meets the standards in the FTTH design. However, for macro bending 5 windings with a diameter of 0.5 cm, each winding can cause the total attenuation value of FTTH to pass the Link power budget and ITU-T G984.

Abstract

Load balancing is tasked with dividing and balancing the traffic load on two or more ISPs in a balanced way so that the output obtained when using this technique is to maximize throughput, minimize response time and avoid overload on one ISP line when one of the ISPs experiences a disconnection. This can be seen from the automatic connection switching to an active ISP gateway, so that network performance continues to run normally. Throughput testing in the morning, afternoon, and evening showed very good value changes after load balancing was applied. Delay and Packet Loss tests also show a change in value from bad to very good after the implementation of the Load balancing system. The results of this study indicate that in measuring network performance for conditions of delay, packet loss, jitter and throughput before and after system implementation using load balancing and failover with the Per Connection Classifier (PCC) method, different results were found

Abstract

A room can be categorised as comfortable or not depending on the temperature and humidity of the air in the room. In order for the room temperature to be maintained, an Air Conditioner (AC) is needed. In the AC there is refrigerant as the most important component that functions to provide cool and cold effects in the room. However, refrigerant leakage in AC is one of the causes of greenhouse emissions that have an impact on climate change. In order to reduce the emissions caused by AC usage, many researchers are utilising Peltier as a device designed to replace the AC cooling system. In order for TEC to work optimally when cooling the air in the room, it is necessary to design a combination system of Portable Air Conditioner (AC) cooling using TEC and Arduino Uno-based water cooler. The working principle of designing a portable Air Conditioner cooling combination system using TEC and water cooler requires a temperature set point value in the water cooler system, where the Arduino is given a set point temperature range on the heatsink. The temperature on the heatsink affects the pump speed. if the higher the temperature on the heatsink read by the DS18B20 temperature sensor, the pump will work quickly to cool the heatsink side. The temperature on the heatsink, pump speed, and the height of the water cooler in the tub are displayed on the LCD. Before assembling and arranging the components that will be used in the portable Air Conditioner cooling combination system using TEC and water cooler, the design flow of the working principle and tool design of the portable Air Conditioner cooling combination system is needed. After the components are assembled and arranged, the test results are obtained with the conclusion that the TEC with the water cooler method is better at cooling a room measuring 1x1 metre than the water cooler method.
