Abstract

This paper aims to examine the improvement of the quality of education of PTKIS through academic services. Academic services can be interpreted as an effort made by universities to provide convenience to meet the needs of students related to academic activities. Academic service system consists of at least: academic system, administration system, and information system. The quality of academic services is based on the performance of faculty and administrative staff. The results of this paper show that managing an educational institution required a quality academic service system, which is able to satisfy service users (students). This research method is qualitative with the study of literature that examines theories that exist in the library, the theory is related to the improvement of the quality of College and academic services. The results of this study indicate that the academic service at STAI Hasanudddin Pare is still low under the expected service, but in general academic service standard minimum set. The results of this study are used to improve the factors that can improve the quality of education at STAI Hasanuddin Pare Kediri

Abstract

In international relations, the political behavior of a government is needed as a measure of success in establishing political relations both regionally and in international politics. Globalization that continues to revolve requires strategic actions and tactics of relations between countries built through the reliability of political behavior that must continue to be developed through a variety of beneficial diplomacy through the attentions of political behavior. This condition requires the ability to approach behavior and minimize the strength of weapons. Now the world is confronted with intelligent political diplomacy to reduce the number of victims of inter-state conflict that has been very detrimental to humanity in the past. through international institutions and awareness of the behavior of the state government peace between countries can certainly be achieved.

Abstract

This paper aims to see the shift of Indonesia’s foreign policy from diplomacy to a confrontation during the Soekarno era from 1945 to 1965. The change of foreign policy orientation become a spotlight on this paper that explores the issue based on historical chronology, national interest, and the dynamics of international politic that shaped the goal of Indonesia’s international politics, that is to defend its independence and gaining recognition as an independent and sovereign country. The analysis used to study this shift of foreign policy of Indonesia, from diplomacy to confrontation is described using the qualitative method through a historical approach. The data and information used for analysis in this study are sourced from secondary data obtained from the literature study.

Abstract

Kehadiran kebijakan luar negeri memiliki pengaruh yang besar bagi pelaksanaan kehidupan bernegara setiap aktor internasional, terutama bagi negara super power seperti Amerika Serikat. Kondisi tersebut membuat Amerika Serikat memiliki kontrol terhadap negara lainnya dengan melakukan tindakan yang hanya menguntungkan sebelah pihak saja, seperti melakukan proteksi. Kebijakan Country of Origin Labelling (COOL) merupakan salah satu bentuk proteksi yang dilakukan oleh Amerika Serikat dengan tujuan untuk membatasi jumlah daging sapi impor dari Kanada yang masuk ke pasar Amerika Serikat karena telah terkontaminasi oleh penyakit Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) atau sapi gila yang sangat berbahaya bagi kesehatan manusia. Implementasi kebijakan COOL tersebut berhasil membuat jumlah ekspor daging sapi Kanada menurun sehingga menyebabkan defisit pada neraca perdagangan negaranya. Oleh karena itu, Kanada harus memilki upaya untuk menjaga stabilitas ekspor daging sapinya sehingga dapat memberikan keuntungan bagi perekonomian Kanada serta tercapainya kepentingan nasional negara.

Abstract

A note on Tol Laut Jokowi is presented covering the economic potensial of the sea, maritime security history of Indoensian Maritime in brief. Overlapping of authorizations in the sea manajerial usies by the government institutions namely : Bakamla, Maritime ministry and Fisheries, Navy, and the state police should not create conflict of interest if they can be coordinated signergitically diplomatic concerns should be taken cares related to the China’s concept on South China Sea, in prospect of UNCLOS.

Abstract

Historicallly, Aceh was and is still part of Indonesia, accrding the proclamation of independent promulgated in 1945. At the infant stage the declared Republic of Unity was transformed into a United Republic of Indonesia. The uncertainty of political situation inspired the Dutch imperial to reoccupied Indonesia. Controntation by the people and the Indonesian government against the Dutch imperial ended on a round table negotiation in Den Haag where the Dutch serendered the sovereign back to Indonesia United Republic. Since Aceh were not part of the Dutch Imperial, and therefore not subjected to this sovereign, Aceh tried to claim an independent territory from Indonesia. Moreover, feel disappointed by unfair and enequal treatment by the Central Government Jakarta, Aceh with GAM proclaims independent. Under the MOU Helsinky, a peace settlement could be reached. An analysis of what is the future of Aceh after this MOU is presented.

Abstract

One of the developments in political science is the emergence of political development studies as a separate field of study, in addition to other fields of study such as political theories, political institutions, parties, groups and public opinion, and international relations. Western scholars develop this study in their efforts to understand the socio-political changes in developing countries. Therefore, the context of political development tends to be aimed at developing countries with the assumption that rationalization, integration and democratization have not yet been implemented in these countries.

Abstract

The prospect of nano technology is reviewed. This covers the definitions, historical records, concerns, applications, scope of the future, risks economic aspects, and the need of regulations. From the prospect of economic potentials, it is concluded that Indonesia should take part in developing capabilities in nano technologies. This participation could be initiated by initiating a small study group in UNAS.

Abstract

China claims Indonesia’s sovereign in Natuna sea, which is located next to South China Sea (SCS). China insists that part of the Natuna sea belongs to China based on Nine-Dash Line map policy which makes it a claim to the South China Sea area. The Nine-Dash Line map was formed based on historical of China’s dynasty. The China’s hegemony is also shown by the islands’ exploration and management in the South China Sea. The conflict between China and Indonesia has been going on for quite a long. It is marked by the China’s actions in sending their fishing vessels to cross the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and doing the illegal fishing in Natuna sea. There are several confrontation issues between China’s vessel and Indonesia sea in Joko Widodo’s reign, but they are undaunted. They show implicit support to Indonesia’s sovereignty. This research used descriptive method to describe the conflicts in the South China Sea. There were 2 (two) concepts and 1 (one) theory in this research. Those were the Concept of National Interest, the Concept of Sovereignty and Geopolitical Theory. The results of this reasearch showed that the government in Joko Widodo’s reign has attempts in many ways in the face of China’s hegemony that was built in South China Sea, especially in Natuna Sea area. The attempts included the President's assertive demeanor by visiting Natuna, also holding the military training and development. In fact, Indonesia continued its diplomatic attempt in carrying out its role as an honest broker to the South China Sea conflict.
