Abstract

Introduction: Elderly is someone who has reached the age of 60 years and over. The age of a person who is getting older will experience a decline due to the aging process, such as deterioration of the function of body cells so that it can affect changes in appearance, physical changes, decreased cognitive function, changes in the five senses such as vision, hearing, feelings, and motor changes. The problem of changes in body function can result in decreased cognitive function being the biggest cause of the inability for the elderly to carry out normal daily activities, and dependence on taking care of themselves. Goals: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between cognitive function and the independence of the elderly in Daily Living Activity at the UPT Social Services for the Elderly of Binjai, North Sumatra Province in 2021. Method: This study was a correlation study with a cross sectional design. Sampling was done by simple random sampling technique with a population of 176 people using the formula vincent gaspersz with a total sample of 62 respondents. Result: The statistical test results obtained p-value 0.000 (P<0,05), which indicates a relationship between cognitive function and the independence of the elderly in daily living activities at the Binjai Elderly Social Service Unit, North Sumatra Province in 2021. Conclusion: This research is expected to be an alternative for health workers in the Binjai nursing home to increase promotional efforts and preventive against problems related to handling dependence of the elderly in daily activities by means of health workers playing an active role in improving cognitive function of the elderly so that they are able to care for themselves for their survival.

Abstract

Anxiety is a feeling of anxious, worried, discomfort or fear. Anxiety often occurs in students facing exams test mainly the OSCE, the anxiety may be reduced if students can master the lessons that followed. Factors that can be affected the activity of a person is motivated to learn, where the motivation is symptom that arise within and from outside themselves that pushing to do something to achieve the expected goal and motivation is also the basis mover pushing to learn.. The purposed of this study was to identify the correlation between learning motivation and the anxiety of the sixth semester college students of Ners which follow the OSCE examination. Kind of this study was descriptive correlation that use the cross sectional approach. Population of this study is all student sixth semester of ners is 61 reponden. Sampling has done by using total sampling technique. The result of statistic test Spearman Rank shows that There was a correlation the motivation to study with anxiety students for following OSCE (p value=0,038), but the power of this relationship is still weak ( r = 0,266 ) because there are other factors that could affect the anxiety when take OSCE examination

Abstract

Burnout syndrome is a response to an emotionally demanding situation with the demands of the recipient who needs the help, attention, and care of the service provider. Burnout have 3 dimensions, they are emotional fatigue, depersonalization, and achievement of the self-achievement. The purpose of this research is to identify burnout syndrome incidence towards nurses in the inpatient room of the Elisabeth Hospital, Medan, 2017. The research is conducted in the Elisabeth Hospital, Medan. This research is descriptive survey design. The research population is nurses who numbered 139 respondents. Sampling technique of simple random sampling has 103 respondents. Data analysis in this research is a univariate analysis. The results show that the majority of nurses on burnout syndrome in the low category are 68 respondents (66%), based on 21-30 year old-majority age are 53 respondents (51.5%), women-majority gender are 62 respondents (60.2%), Diploma III Nurses-majority latest education are 51 respondents (49.5%), majority of unmarried status are 43 respondents (41.7%), and majority of long working for 2-4 years old are 37 people (35.9%). A description of burnout syndrome incidence towards nurses in the inpatient room of the Elisabeth Hospital, Medan, 2017, is in the low category. The results of research are suggested to nurses to train their skills, follow skills training, and maintain effective coping in working.

Abstract

Hypno-teaching is a creative, unique, and imaginative learning method. This study aims to determine the Effect of Hypno-Teaching Toward The Ability of Critical Thinking Students 2nd Level of Nursing Study Program, STIKes Santa Elisabeth Medan. The study design was classroom action research. This study's respondents were 74 students of Nurses level II, which obtain through the purposive sampling technique. These respondents divide into two groups: the intervention group using the Hypno-teaching method and the control group using the conventional learning method. Each group was 37 respondents. The results showed that the mean Ability of students' critical thinking in the intervention group before Hypno-teaching was 7.84 with a standard deviation of 3,648 after Hypno-teaching was 12.46 with a standard deviation of 3,671. The statistical test results showed that the value P = 0.000 means a positive difference in the average Ability of critical thinking of students between before and after Hypno-teaching, with an increase in the range of 4.62. The control group also found that the mean pretest scores of students were 10.78 with a standard deviation of 4.158, and the mean post-test scores were 13.27, with a standard deviation of 3.097. The results of statistical tests showed that the value of P = 0.004 means that there is a difference in the average Ability of critical thinking of students in a positive direction between before and after learning that using conventional methods, with an increased range was 2.49. This study showed that the Hypno-teaching method could improve students' critical thinking skills better than Sectional methods. These two methods influence students' critical thinking skills, but the average increase in Hypno-teaching reached 4.62, while in the conventional method only increases to 2.49

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kesehatan yang prima akan di dapatkan ketika tubuh mendapatkan  oksigen yang baik. Henti nafas diakibatkan melemahnya kerja jantung sampai dengan terhentinya kerja jantung dan dapat mengakibatkan tidak terpenuhinya oksigen dalam tubuh yang artinya kebutuhan dasar hidup tidak dapat terpenuhi. Tujuan dari penyuluhan bantuan hidup dasar adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan dapat melakukan tindakan secara mandiri untuk pertolongan bantuan hidup dasar di lingkungannya. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah siswa/i SMA Yayasan Anastasia Pancur Batu. Metode yang digunakan dalam penyuluhan bantuan hidup dasar ini adalah dengan melakukan presentasi materi dan melakukan simulasi bantuan hidup dasar. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah siswa/i mempu mengetahui tentang dasar-dasar pemberian bantuan hidup dasar dan mampu melaksanakan pemberian bantuan hidup dasar di lingkungannya. Diharapkan dengan dilaksanakannya penyuluhan ini, pada siswa/i dapat sigap dan mampu memberikan bantuan hidup dasar guna memperkecil angka kematian. Kata Kunci : Bantuan Hidup Dasar, Penyuluhan Kesehatan ABSTRACT Excellent health will be obtained when the body gets good oxygen. Stopping breathing is caused by the weakening of the work of the heart to the cessation of the work of the heart and can result in not meeting oxygen in the body, which means that the basic needs of life cannot be fulfilled. The purpose of basic life support extension is to increase knowledge and be able to take action independently for basic life support assistance in their environment. The target of this activity is SMA Anastasia Pancur Batu Foundation. The method used in this basic life support extension is to present the material and perform basic life support simulations. The result of this activity is that students are able to know the basics of providing basic life support and are able to provide basic life support in their environment. It is hoped that with the implementation of this counseling, students can be alert and able to provide basic life support in order to reduce the mortality rate. Keywords: Basic Life Support, Health Education

Abstract

ABSTRAK Untuk mencapai kesehatan yang panjang harus dimulai sejak dini. Pada usia dini, balita sangatlah berperan penting sebagai permulaan kehidupan yang akan datang. Tindakan kesehatan yang dapat dilakukan diawal kehidupan manusia adalah dengan adanya imunisasi. Imunisasi yang di berikan haruslah lengkap hingga batas usia dengan berbagai macam imunisasi yang akan diterima. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kesehatan balita sejak dini. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah bayi dibawah umur 5 tahun yang akan menerima imunisasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah balita yang dating mendapatkan imunisasi sesuai dengan umurnya. Diharapkan dengan dilaksanakannya pengabdian masyarakat ini, para ibu dapat rajin untuk membawa balita mereka untuk di bawa keposyandu secara rutin dan balita mendapatkan imunisasi lengkap guna memberikan kesehatan yang baik di masa yang akan dating dan mengurangi resiko sakit, cacat dan kematian pada balita. Kata Kunci :Posyandu, Balita ABSTRACT To achieve long health must start early. At an early age, toddlers are very important as the beginning of life to come. Health action that can be done early in human life is immunization. The immunization given must be complete up to the age limit with a variety of immunizations to be received. The purpose of this community service is to improve the health of toddlers from an early age. The target of this activity is infants under 5 years of age who will receive immunizations. The result of this activity is toddlers who come to receive immunizations according to their age. It is hoped that with the implementation of this community service, mothers can be diligent in bringing their toddlers to the Integrated Healthcare Center, regularly and toddlers get complete immunizations to provide good health in the future and reduce the risk of illness, disability and death in toddlers. Keywords: Integrated Healthcare Center, Toddler

Abstract

Resilience is a person's ability to adapt in stressful situations, be able to rise from the trauma experienced, and have a solution in solving every problem. Resilience is needed for nurses, as a foundation to always think positively in providing nursing care, especially during this covid-19 pandemic so that nurses have good sources of resilience. This study aims to describe the resilience of nurses exposed to COVID-19. The method used in this research is a descriptive research design with univariate data analysis. The sampling technique in this study is total sampling with a population of 89 nurses. The results show that the resilience of nurses exposed to COVID-19 at Bunda Thamrin General Hospital has a high category of resilience as many as 67 people (75.3%).

Abstract

Surgery is all treatment measures that use invasive methods by opening or displaying the body part to be treated. The most frequent and common problem caused postoperatively is pain Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the correlation of pain intensity and pain interference in postoperative patients Method: Desaign of This research is a descriptive correlative research using a cross sectional design. The number of samples in this study were 70 people. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling. Bivariate analysis used is the product moment test. Results: The results showed that postoperative patients had severe pain intensity with a total of 44 people and a percentage of 62.90%, had moderate pain interference with a total of 49 people and a percentage of 70 and there was a significant relationship between pain intensity and pain interference in postoperative patients (p value =0.001, <0.005). Conclusions The conclusion of this study is there was a significant relationship between pain intensity and pain interference in postoperative patients

Abstract

Interpersonal communication is a process and effort of individuals or groups in influencing by conveying information or messages intended to other individuals both verbally and nonverbally so that feedback and interactions occur between the two parties as a process of transferring knowledge from lecturers to students. In this investigation, we'll findioutitheidescription ofiinterpersonal communication between students and lecturers at the Nursing Study Program of STIKes Santa Elisabeth Medan. This type of research is descriptive research design, the sampling in this study used a total sampling technique, their respondent were 91 people. Their results of the research showed that the interpersonal communication ofithird-level Nurses students with the majority of lecturers was in the pretty good category (94.5%). with the existence of interpersonal communication students with lecturers can be maintained or improved for the better.

Abstract

Life review therapy is one of therapy to reducing depression, building confidence, psychological well-being, and contentment in elderlylife. Purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of life review therapy on depression in elderly at Binjai erderly social service unit Province of North Sumatera 2021. This research method uses one-group pretest – posttest design. The sampling Technique was purposive sampling, with a sample of 30 respondents. The  measuring instrument used by the Geriatric Depression Scale questionnaire. The results showed that the score before life review therapy is 7,20 (SD=2,592), and after life review therapy 4,13 (SD=2,825). Statistical test results show the life review therapy affected depression in elderly at Province North Sumatera Binjai erderly social service unit with paired t-test, ρ value = 0,001. This research is expected to be an alternative to reducing depression, improving well-being and quality of elderlylife.
