Abstract

Hypertension in the elderly is characterized by an increase in systolic and diastolic blood pressure of ≥ 140/90 mmHg persistently and often occurs in ± 55 years old elderly. Progressive Muscle Relaxation is one technique that can relax muscle tension and create a relaxed feeling that can lower blood pressure. Goals : This study aims to determine the effect of progressive muscle relaxation on blood pressure decrease in elderly with hypertension in Dusun IV Tanjung Anom Medan Year 2018. Methods : The design used design is one group pretest and post test design with purposive sampling method that is 28 respondents elderly who are in Dusun IV Tanjung Anom Medan. The Instruments used for taking data were SOP, observation sheet, stethoscope, sphygmomanometer Result : Data analysis showed the result of pre intervention blood pressure mostly on 1st degree of hypertension 16 people (57,1%) and post intervention mostly on 2 prehypertension were 13 people (46,4%). The result of Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test statistic shows that p = 0,000 (p <0,05) means the effect of progressive muscle relaxation on blood pressure drop in elderly with hypertension in Dusun IV Tanjung Anom Medan Year 2018. Conclutions : The result of this study is expected elderly able to apply this progressive muscle relaxation routinely.

Abstract

Introduction: Many students experience anxiety, especially when going to face an exam. The results of interviews with 10 beginning students at STIKes Santa Elisabeth Medan obtained data that 3 people experienced severe anxiety, 5 people experienced moderate anxiety and 2 people experienced mild anxiety just before the test. They experience sleep disturbances and lack of rest, decreased appetite, fast heart beat, frequent urination, decreased concentration of learning, and feel anxious to remember the exam is getting closer. Method: This type of research is pre-experimental with one-group pre-post test design research. The study was conducted at STIKes Santa Elisabeth Medan in March-April 2018. The total sample of 15 people with a sampling technique was purposive sampling by selecting samples based on criteria set by researchers. The study was conducted using an anxiety level questionnaire instrument and standard operating procedures for color therapy. The data obtained were analyzed using the Wilcoxon sign rank test, at a 95% confidence level.Result: Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that there is an effect of green color therapy on changes in the level of student anxiety in facing exams. Discussion: The green color causes an increase in serotonin levels which has an important role to control sleep-wake, eating behavior, controlling sensory transmission, mood, and a number of behaviors. Providing green color therapy will stimulate the release of serotonin, so that increased levels of serotonin can improve one's mood so that it can create a sense of happiness and reduce anxiety. Someone who is given green color therapy can help individuals to be able to control themselves and focus attention so that the individual can take the right response when in a tense situation. In this study, after being given the intervention of green color therapy respondents who have severe to moderate anxiety levels. While those who have moderate anxiety become mild anxiety. green color therapy can affect changes in student anxiety levels.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Konsep diri merupakan persepsi individu terhadap dirinya sendiri. Hal ini sangat penting dikaji untuk memastikan seseorang percaya terhadap dirinya dan menerima kondisinya. Mahasiswa perawat yang nantinya akan berhadapan dengan klien setiap harinya dalam praktik klinik maupun lapangan kerja perlu memiliki konsep diri positif, agar pelayanan keperawatan yang diberikan semakin professional.Konsep diri yang dimiliki oleh mahasiswa program profesi ners akan menggambarkan perilaku dan motivasi mahasiswa dalam menempuh karir dan pendidikannya selanjutnya. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran konsep diri mahasiswa program profesi ners STIKes Santa Elisabeth Medan tahun 2021 secara umum dan gambaran konsep diri secara khusus berdasarkan masing-masing komponen konsep diri. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui teknik total sampling. Sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program profesi ners berjumlah 84 responden. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (100%) mahasiswa program profesi ners memiliki konsep diri yang positif. Berdasarkan setiap komponen, mayoritas mahasiswa (98%) memiliki citra tubuh positif, 80% memiliki ideal diri realistis, 100% memiliki performa peran yang memuaskan, 100% memiliki kejelasan identitas personal dan 74% memiliki harga diri tinggi. Saran: meskipun menunjukkan hasil positif secara keseluruhan, disarankan agar metode pembelajaran yang diterapkan pada program profesi ners memberikan lebih banyak ruang untuk aktivitas pembelajaran yang mendukung pengenalan diri dan kompetisi yang sehat di antara mahasiswa program profesi ners, baik di lingkungan kampus keperawatan maupun di rumah sakit dan klinik, untuk meningkatkan peluang berprestasi yang dapat mempengaruhi tingkat kepercayaan diri mereka ketika menyelesaikan pendidikan profesi ners.

Abstract

Introduction: Work readiness is an advanced condition or process that will be experienced by students after they feel ready and have the knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed by the world of work. Apart from work experience, work readiness is also influenced by individual internal conditions such as maturity and mental readiness and everything that requires their seriousness and focus. Work readiness requires a competency that must be prepared beforehand, this competency is influenced by the existence of self-efficacy. Self-efficacy, also known as social cognitive theory, or social learning theory, refers to an individual's belief that he or she is capable of carrying out a task. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and work readiness of nursing professional study program students at STIKes Santa Elisabeth Medan in 2021. Methode: The research method used is correlation with a cross sectional approach, the number of respondents is 84 people. Sampling technique with total sampling technique. The results obtained were 61 people (72.6%) had high self-efficacy and 63 people (75.0%) student respondents had work readiness in the ready category. Results: The results of the Spearman Rank statistical test obtained a value of r = (.879) and p (value) = 0.000 (p <0,05). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between self-efficacy and student work readiness. Where the correlation level is in the high category and the direction of the relationship is positive, which means the higher the self-efficacy, the higher the student’s job readiness. Suggestion: Students are expected to be able to maintain or improve self-efficacy and work readiness so that they are able to enter the world of work and carry out tasks or jobs that will be obtained in the world of work.

Abstract

Febrile convulsion often found in children 3-5 years old. This problem is a seizure that occurs when the body temperature rises and is caused by the extracranium process. This research was to decide the relationship between mother’s knowledge and management of febrile convulsion in children 1-5 years old in the Tengah village of Pancur Batu district 2020. This research is a cross-sectional study. We used to simple random sampling technique with 30 respondents. We used a questionnaire for the instrument. The final results showed that the majority of mother's knowledge regarding the management of febrile seizures was in the good category (86.7%) and the majority of febrile seizure management was in the category (90.0%). The results of chi-square statistical test show there is a relationship between knowledge of the mother with the handling of febrile seizures in children in the Tengah village of Pancur Batu District in 2020 (p value = 0,039). This study is expected to be an alternative for health workers to increase the promotion and prevention of problems related to the first treatment of febrile seizures. A person's knowledge is a factor that can influence a mother to take action, the better the mother's knowledge of diseases or health problems, the better the handling and vice versa, if the mother's knowledge is less, the handling of health problems will be better. Health education to the community will be a means to increase knowledge about handling health problems in the community.

Abstract

Baby blues is a condition where there is a change in mood in postpartum mothers that occurs every time after the mother gives birth to her baby. Baby blues occur due to several factors, namely internal and external. Symptoms that appear in postpartum mothers can interfere with the mother's ability to carry out roles, one of which is caring for the baby and inhibiting the release of oxytocin which ultimately reduces milk production. Family support is a way to prevent or overcome the increase in psychological disorders felt by postpartum mothers through motivation and enthusiasm in preventing mothers from experiencing postpartum blues. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and baby blues Incidence on Postpartum Mothers at Pulau Terap Village Kampar Regency Riau Province 2022. This study use a cross sectional design with a total sampling of 46 respondents. The results shows that there is no family support for postpartum mothers as much as 56.5% and postpartum mothers who experienced severe baby blues as much as 45.7%. Data analysis shows that there is a relationship between family support and the incidence of baby blues on postpartum mothers at Pulau Terap Village, Kampar Regency, from the results of the chi square statistical test found p-value = 0.001. It is hoped that further researchers will be able to examine postpartum mothers who are currently experiencing the baby blues, and can implement an intervention in reducing or preventing the baby blues.

Abstract

Pre-school age children in their growth and development experience many changes, both physical and mental changes. This is where the role of parents is needed, because in this preschool period the child's character and behavior are formed. However, many parents follow the requests of the child too much, so that the child gets what he wants, and when one day the parents are unable to fulfill his request, the child can have a tantrum. Tantrums are episodes of peak anger that are usually described by rolling crying, and extreme frustration, because it can hurt the child. Temper tantrums are strongly influenced by parenting patterns, the way parents raise their children plays a role in causing tantrums. Parents who dominate children, fathers and mothers who disagree, and inconsistent parenting causes temper tantrums. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between parenting and temper tantrum behavior in preschool children in Tualang Village, Kec. Siempat Nempu Hulu, Kab. Dairi, Sidikalang. This research method uses a correlation design with a sample of 40 respondents in Tualang Village, Kec. Siempat Nempu Hulu. The measuring instrument used in this study was a parenting style questionnaire and a temper tantrum behavior questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out using the chi square test with (p = 0.015). Abstract

Remaja merupakan suatu proses pencarian identitas dan jati diri. Proses ini ditandai dengan fase tumbuh kembang yang terjadi dan ditandai dengan tanda perubahan fisik, hormonal, psikologis, emosi, dan sosial. Perubahan pada remaja menimbulkan suatu dampak akan psikologis remaja, ditandai dengan remaja akan cenderung lebih memperhatikan bentuk tubuhnya, sehingga menyebabkan remaja akan cenderung membatasi asupan makanan yang dikonsumsi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kebiasaan makan dengan body image pada remaja kelas IX di SMP N.2 Siborongborong Tahun 2022. Jenis penelitian menggunakan desain cross sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan purposive sampling yang berjumlah 70 responden. Data dianalisis dengan analisa univariat yaitu mengidentifikasi distribusi dan frekuensi pada data variabel independen adalah kebiasaan makan, dan variabel dependen adalah body image dan menggunakan instrument penelitian kuesioner Adolescent Food Habits Checklist (AFHC) dan kuesioner Multidimensional Body Self Relations Questionnare (MBSRQ) dengan menggunakan teknik komputerisasi untuk analisa data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kebiasaan makan yang sehat yaitu 51 orang (72,9%) dan yang memiliki kebiasaan makan yang tidak sehat yaitu 19 orang (27,1%) dan body image positif yaitu 51 orang (72,9%) dan yang memiliki body image negative yaitu 19 orang (27,1%). Dengan menggunakan uji statistik Chi Square didapatkan hasil p (value) = 0,000 (p<0,05) sehingga disimpulkan terdapat adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara variabel kebiasaan makan dengan body image pada remaja kelas IX.

Abstract

The surgical procedure is a potential or actual stressor or threat that causes anxiety in the patient. The causes of preoperative anxiety are related to surgical procedures and anesthesia which cause an increase in heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and reduce the patient's energy level. Anxiety in pregnant women who will undergo sectio caesarea surgery will result in an increase in the mother's vital signs and stress on the fetus. The purpose of this study was to identify the level of anxiety in preoperative sectio caesarea patients at Harapan Pematang Siantar Hospital. This study uses a descriptive design on 66 pregnant women who will give birth by section caesarea through total sampling technique. Data collection was carried out in April 2023 with the Amsterdam Preoperative anxiety and Information Scale questionnaire. The results showed that the respondents' anxiety levels were in the moderate (65.2%) and mild (3.0%) categories. Preoperative anxiety is strongly influenced by the understanding of information and the readiness of the mother physically and mentally. Mothers who will give birth by caesarean section should be trained in relaxation techniques, given clear information about the procedure and effects of anesthesia, accompanied by their husbands or family members so that they have internal motivation that can reduce anxiety levels so that the operation goes well.

Abstract

Halusinasi masih menjadi masalah utama pada klien skizofrenia yang dirawat di Rumah Sakit Jiwa. Terapi modalitas diperlukan untuk mendukung farmakoterapi pengobatan skizofrenia. Salah satu terapi aktivitas kelompok yang mampu mengontrol halusinasi klien skizofrenia adalah stimulasi sensori. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melakukan pendampingan dalam terapi aktivitas kelompok stimulasi sensori pada klien skizofrenia yang mengalami halusinasi di RSJ Prof. M.Ildrem Medan. Kegiatan dilakukan dua kali dengan durasi 60 menit, terdiri dari sesi pembukaan, sesi mengidentifikasi halusinasi dan latihan menghardik, dan sesi evaluasi serta tindak lanjut. Pendampingan diberikan kepada enam klien skizofrenia yang dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok. Stimulasi sensori diberikan dengan permainan bisik kata dan mengidentifikasi suara. Hasil dan kesimpulan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah sangat baik dimana klien mampu mengidentifikasi stimulus sensori yang diberikan. Klien juga mampu mengidentifikasi halusinasinya dan melakukan cara menghardik halusinasi yang benar. Pelaksanaan terapi aktivitas kelompok stimulasi sensori sebaiknya rutin dilakukan untuk mengontrol halusinasi klien skizofrenia, serta melibatkan anggota keluarga untuk menghindari kejadian relaps atau rawat inap ulang.
