Abstract

This study is to determine the feasibility of supervision, leadership, and compensation in influencing employee work discipline in Medan Denai Sub-district. This study was conducted with descriptive qualitative with literature study method through literature studies sourced from previous research journals. The results show that effective supervision contributes significantly to improving employee work discipline, with higher levels of compliance. In addition, supportive and participative leadership styles were also found to have a strong positive influence on work discipline, encouraging employee motivation and engagement. Fair and competitive compensation was also shown to play an important role, where employees who were satisfied with the rewards they received tended to show better levels of discipline. Supervision, leadership, and compensation are important factors in improving employee discipline. There is a need for companies to implement better supervision strategies, promote supportive leadership, and ensure competitive compensation to maximize employee discipline and productivity. Recommendations for future research include a deeper exploration of the specific mechanisms linking supervision and leadership to work discipline.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of Work Motivation, Work Discipline, and Communication on Employee Organizational Commitment. This type of research is a descriptive qualitative study using a literature review method based on previous research journals. The results of this study explain that there is a relationship between work motivation, work discipline, and work communication in enhancing organizational commitment. To determine an employee's organizational commitment, one must consider their motivation to work, discipline in adhering to existing regulations, and ability to communicate well to take necessary actions in achieving the company's vision and mission. In this regard, it is necessary to instill a sense of responsibility in all employees, making them aware of their significant role within the organization, involving employees in every activity aimed at achieving organizational goals, and fostering a sense of belonging to the organization. This is intended to cultivate a strong emotional bond between employees and the organization, making it easier to achieve organizational goals if every employee has a strong commitment to the organization.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the influence of leadership style, work supervision, and working environment toward the employees’ performance in the Civil Registry Service Office of South Tapanuli Regency. Quantitative method and approach are used together with statistical analysis via SPSS version 26. The population of this research consists of 45 employees working at the Civil Registry Service Office of South Tapanuli Regency. Probability Sampling is done through saturated census; due to the fact that the total population is less than 100 persons. The results show that leadership style has partially positive and significant influences toward the employees’ performance with an amount of tcount > ttable (3,126 > 2,01954), work supervision has positive and significant influences toward the employees’ performance with an amount of tcount > ttable (3,758 > 2,01954), and working environment has positive and significant influences toward the employees’ performance with an amount of tcount > ttable (4,759 > 2,01954). Moreover, the leadership style, work supervision, and working environment simultaneously have positive and significant influences toward the South Tapanuli Regency’s Civil Registry Service Office employees with an amount of fcount > ftable (160,475 > 2,83). The research results show that partially and simultaneously, H1 is accepted; meanwhile H0 is denied. In addition, the coefficient of determination value is 91,6%; with a residual of 8,4% from other independent variable that is purposely left out from this research.

Abstract

The aims of this study were (1) to describe the form of persona deixis in Boy Candra's novel Origami Hati, (2) to describe the form of place deixis in Boy Candra's Origami Hati novel, (3) to describe the form of time deixis in Boy Candra's Origami Hati novel, ( 4) to describe the function of persona deixis in the novel Origami Hati by Boy Candra, (5) to describe the function of deixis of place in the novel Origami Hati by Boy Candra, (6) to describe the function of time deixis in the novel Origami Hati by Boy Candra, (7) to describe the implications of deixis in the novel Origami Hati by Boy Candra on learning short story texts in junior high school. The results showed that the deixis contained in the novel Origami Hati by Boy Candra includes first-person deixis, second-person deixis, third-person deixis, place deixis and time deixis and their respective functions. The function of persona deixis in this novel is used to refer to actors or participants who are involved in language events; used as a pointer to belonging; used as a subject; used as an object. The function of place deixis in this novel is used as a description of the place where a language event takes place. The function of time deixis in this novel is used to refer to the time of utterance; used to refer to past or before utterances; used to refer to the time after the utterance. Personal deixis in this novel consists of the form aku, -ku, saya, anda, kami, kita, kamu, -mu, kalian, dia, -ia, mereka. The deixis of time in this novel refers to the past, present and future. The deixis of place in this novel refers to places that are far from the speakers, close to the speakers and somewhat far from the speakers.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a complex psychiatric disorder that disrupts cognition, emotion, perception, and behavior, significantly affecting daily functioning and social interaction. Paranoid schizophrenia, a well-recognized subtype, is characterized by persistent paranoid delusions, frequently accompanied by hallucinations—most commonly auditory—and other perceptual disturbances, often leading to unpredictable or aggressive behaviors. A 34-year-old male patient, Mr. A, was brought to Cut Meutia General Hospital on February 9, 2024, by his father and the village chief due to episodes of aggression. The patient reported that his behavior occurred because a creature was controlling his body and disturbing him. His family indicated that he had experienced similar episodes in the past and had previously been hospitalized for the same condition. Based on established clinical guidelines, he was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. Pharmacological management was initiated, including risperidone, clozapine, lodemer injection, diazepam injection, divalproex, and trihexyphenidyl, targeting psychotic symptoms, agitation, and behavioral disturbances, with the aim of stabilizing his mental state, preventing further aggressive episodes, and supporting overall functional recovery.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to increase understanding to the community of Medan Johor sub-district about work supervision and employee performance. The specific target in this community service is for the people of Medan Johor sub-district to know what work supervision and employee performance are. The materials presented in this community service are: what is work supervision, and employee performance. The connection will affect the improvement of community work in Medan Johor sub-district so that the community gets a solution to work supervision and employee performance. From this community service, the results show that the community of Medan Johor sub-district has known and understood the importance of insight into work supervision and employee performance so as to improve work performance.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis deskriptif teks menggunakan strategi peta konsep di SMPN 1 Taba Penanjung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Sample dari penelitian ini dalah siswa kelas VIIID di SMPN 1 Taba Penanjung yang terdiri dari 30 siswa. Data diperoleh dengan pemberian tes awal yang dilakukan sebelum adanya perlakuan dan memberikan tes pada siklus I, siklus II dan siklus III setelah adanya perlakuan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa ada peningkatan terhadap pemahaman menulis siswa dengan menggunakan peta konsep di SMPN 1 Taba Penanjung (Bengkulu Tengah). Hal ini dibuktikan dengan perolehan perbedaan nilai rata-rata tes awal dan nilai rata-rata tes akhir. Rata-rata nilai tes awal adalah 47,06 atau 6,89% sedangkan rata-rata tes akhir adalah 54,41 atau 20,68% pada siklus I, 72,27 atau 96,55% pada siklus II, dan 82,44 atau 100% pada siklus III. Peningkatanya dari tes awal sampai tes akhir pada siklus III adalah 35,38 atau 93,11%.
