Abstract

Dalam lingkungan masyarakat banyak jenis serangga yang perlu dikendalikan walaupun tidak dapat diberantas secara tuntas contohnya adalah jenis serangga lalat. Lalat merupakan serangga penular atau vektor beberapa jenis penyakit bagi manusia. Untuk meminimalkan pemakaian insektisida dalam pengendalian serangga lalat maka perlu dilakukan pengendalian lalat secara alami dan sesuai dengan kepadatannya. Tujuan penelitian adalah  untuk mengetahui efektifitas perangkap lalat ( fly trap ) yang dibuat oleh peneliti dengan menggunakan variasi umpan untuk memerangkap lalat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pra eksperimen dengan desain postest only design (one shot case study). Hasil dari penelitian ini dengan memasang 3 fly trap dengan 3 jenis umpan berbeda yaitu umpan udang, umpan fermentasi cabai, dan umpan tomat busuk, diperoleh jumlah lalat terperangkap yaitu umpan udang sebanyak 1374 ekor  lalat (86%), umpan fermentasi cabai  sebanyak 123 ekor lalat (8%), dan umpan  tomat busuk sebanyak  104 ekor lalat (6%). Hasil penelitian ini diuji dengan uji statistik one way anova menunjukan bahwa nilai p = 0,000 < 0,05 dapat diartikan bahwa secara statistik Ho ditolak. Maka disimpulkan bahwa dari 3 variasi umpan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini, umpan udang lebih efektif dibandingkan umpan cabai dan umpan tomat busuk yang kemudian diikuti oleh umpan fermentasi cabai dan umpan tomat busuk.Kata Kunci: Lalat, Fly Trap, Variasi Umpan

Abstract

Because it produces high-value biomass. However, this technology has not been developed at the community level. Therefore, before black soldier fly technology is promoted to the public, it is important to know the public's perception of the use of this technology. The aim of this research is to analyze housewives' perceptions of the use of black soldier fly technology in processing household organic waste in rural areas, a case study in Laras Dua Village, Simalungun Regency, Indonesia. The sample size was 100 housewives obtained by Slovin equation. The first step, housewives received education and counseling about the use of black soldier flies in processing household organic waste, then continued with interviews using a Likert scale questionnaire. The results of the perception analysis showed that rural housewives strongly agreed that the use of black soldier fly technology provided technological (83.7%), economic (85.7%), and social (82.2%) benefits for rural areas. The positive perception of the technological, economic, and social benefits of using black soldier fly technology will encourage rural communities to use this technology as a sustainable household waste processing solution

Abstract

Pengujan Village is a coastal area located in Bintan Regency, where the livelihoods and food sources of the community are largely derived from the sea. The increasing activities in fishing and seafood processing have led to the negative impact of rising household waste. The purpose of this community service is to educate the Pengujan Village youth organization (karang taruna) on waste segregation and the processing of household plastic waste into paving blocks. The methods used in this activity include preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Data were analyzed using the paired sample T-test. The results show a significant difference in knowledge before and after the education, with a p-value of 0.014 (α < 0.05). This education is a concrete step to enhance the community's knowledge in waste segregation and the processing of household plastic waste into paving blocks that have economic value.

Abstract

Arcangelisia flava (L.) Merr., commonly known as kayu kuning, is a medicinal plant traditionally used in Southeast Asian medicine. Various studies have identified bioactive compounds such as furanoditerpenes, alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, and phenolic compounds that contribute to its pharmacological activities, including antimicrobial, antioxidant, and antidiabetic effects. Despite the growing body of research on its pharmacological potential, the mechanisms of action of these bioactive constituents remain inadequately understood, and clinical evidence supporting its use in modern therapy is still limited. This systematic review compiles data from diverse scientific sources, focusing on the phytochemical composition, extraction methods, pharmacological activities, and comparisons with conventional pharmaceutical agents. The analysis revealed that A. flava contains various bioactive constituents responsible for its therapeutic effects. Furanoditerpenes demonstrate antimicrobial and antifungal activity, while alkaloids and phenolic compounds exhibit significant antioxidant and antidiabetic properties. Extraction techniques varied across studies, affecting the efficiency of bioactive compound isolation. Comparisons with standard pharmaceuticals suggest that A. flava extracts exhibit comparable efficacy in several pharmacological domains. These findings indicate that A. flava holds considerable promise as a natural therapeutic agent. However, further investigations are needed to clarify its pharmacological mechanisms through pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies, as well as clinical trials to confirm its safety and effectiveness in human applications. The integration of modern technological approaches such as metabolomics and bioinformatics could facilitate the identification, standardization, and development of phytopharmaceutical products derived from A. flava, thereby advancing its potential use in evidence-based medicine.
