Abstract

This article examines the role of traditional Khakot dance in Lampung as a discourse of political technology that influences the body to make individuals obedient to the values and social cultural norms of Lampung. This research focused on three issues. First, the form of representation of the body that complies with the social values and norms of Lampung culture in Khakot dance. Second, the process of forming a body that abides by the social values and norms of Lampung culture in Khakot dance. Third, identifying factors that influence individual compliance with sociocultural values and norms in the context of Khakot dance. This study used a critical discourse analysis paradigm and utilized primary and secondary data. Analysis of all obtained data was carried out textually and contextually using Michel Foucault's body discipline theory which is presented in a qualitative descriptive form. The results showed that the representation of the body that obeys the social values and norms of Lampung culture is reflected in aspects of Khakot dance performances, including the selection of costume forms and choreographic forms such as movement and floor pattern composition. The process of forming the body to be obedient to the social values and norms of Lampung culture in the context of Khakot dance involves formal and non-formal education, as well as through sociocultural activities in Lampung society. Factors that influence individual compliance are social control, normalization, and panopticon.

Abstract

Indonesian Wayang is a cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO that must be preserved and passed toward future generations. One of the efforts to maintain wayang existence is through the insertion within educational field by the help of technology and animation in the form of digital storytelling. This research is aimed at exploring the implementation of wayang-based digital storytelling project at an Indonesian school which combined art, culture, skills, character education, cultural heritage values and global knowledge. The researchers applied narrative inquiry design in order to investigate and have in depth exploration toward the implementation of wayang-based digital storytelling within the researcher’s classroom. After having the analysis and reflection toward teaching and learning process as well as teaching documentation, it is concluded that the wayang-based project is potential to help students in addressing cultural challenges. Through the wayang media applied, the young generation know and increase their awareness to preserve the local cultural heritage. Further, the implementation of project in group using technology integration is concluded to be effective to enhace students’ collaborative, communicative, and ICT literacy which is very important in the 21 century era. Moreover, the topic which was close to socio environmental issues is expected to raise students’ awareness to be active individual to protect the surroundings. In conclusion, the application of wayang-based project within the classroom is effective and potential to strengthen Profil Pelajar Pancasila character stated in national curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka).

Abstract

Program   intention   of   this   activity,    which   named      job   trammg.  on~:::rrepreneurship,is giving the partical experience stock in the form of knowledge,skill, also motivation  and attitude  objectively, to  all  student as participant while aving a job training, doing together-the performance totally in the field of ceramic decorated industry.Further is also expected, that the participant will be able to apply the values of entrepreneurship, to be a benefit to the student after finishing their lecture in a period to coming.                                                                                      -Method and execition pattern used in this job training's  activity is, within the theory of stock purchasing, conception about entrepreneurship, and the management of medium small enterprise, and also direct pratice in industry.,          Result of this activity execution is inferential as follows. All of the participant from this job training on entrepreneurship have done the following activities. a) Stock phase in purchasing  which located in campus; b) Practising  of preproduce phase directly, in the from of ceramic raw material processing, namely clay; c) Practising the production, which consists of these activities : design making, making of product printing;  mould,  ceramic  products  making  by  various  techniques,  practising  in draining and  will  product,  and  also  finishing  product  by various  techniques,  d) Practice or application   the experince on postproduction   phase, which consists as follow; study of the warehousing,  naking of packing product, and management of show room; and e) The study of managing an enterprise and making of new proposal which aims to effort a new enterprise.Key words:   training,  production,  and finishing ceramic.

Abstract

This particular training is a program concerning: 1) developing a new clay material made of Lapindo Sidoarjo mud and ash taken from Merapi mountain Yogyakarta, and 2) to produce prototypes of ceramic products from this particular clay. The participants of this program are teachers majoring in arts and culture of junior high schools in Sleman Yogyakarta, who are the members of the art education teacher association known as Teachers Association. The program involved 25 teachers and it was conducted on June 9-13th, 2016. The main materials given in the training were related to the substance of the clay and the method of producing ceramic products using that particular clay. The program was held at Centre of Teachers' and Academic Professionals' Development and Empowerment of Art and culture Yogyakarta. The training was conducted through lecturing, discussion and demonstration and giving a practical workshop. The results of the training are as the following. First, all of the participants showed their enthusiasm and high motivation during the training. Secondly, the participants of the training were successful in making good quality ceramic products using the clay made of Sidoarjo mud and Merapi ash.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe: 1) forms of deconstruction of craftmanship dimensions in the aesthetic representation of Yogyakarta’s contemporary art; and 2) factors leading to the strong deconstruction of craftmanship dimensions. The method employed was qualitative, using hermeneutics as the main approach. The researcher and a documentation guide were the main instruments in the research. The research data were in the form of artwork documents created by Yogyakarta artists, during the last ten-years or starting in 2010. The data were then analyzed using a qualitative descriptive model, incorporating the following steps: data reduction, discussion, and conclusion. The results of this study show that the form of deconstruction of craftmanship dimensions in the aesthetic representation of Yogyakarta’s contemporary art is related to the technical domain of creation and the content of the work, which is represented deconstructively. In terms of its contents, the artwork is no longer a representation of craftmanship either on its functional praxis or nobility, instead it shows a social-criticism function. The factors that cause the strong deconstruction of craftmanship dimensions in the aesthetic representation of Yogyakarta’s contemporary art include the strong influence of postmodernism accompanying the development of culture in the contemporary era, as the antithesis of modernism. This is realized by rejecting the principles of monosemic-logocentrism and by offering new principles, namely pluralism and polysemic-particularity in culture and arts, with all its grand narration. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: 1) bentuk-bentuk dekonstruksi dimensi kekriyaan dalam representasi estetis seni rupa kontemporer Yogyakarta; dan 2) penyebab kuatnya dekonstruksi dimensi kekriyaan dalam representasi estetis seni rupa kontemporer Yogyakarta sebagaimana dimaksud. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah jenis kualitatif dengan pendekatan utama hermeneutik. Instrumen utama penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri, yang dibantu dengan pedoman dokumentasi. Data penelitian berupa dokumentasi karya seni rupa Yogyakarta, yang dibuat pada periode sepuluh tahunan terakhir atau mulai tahun 2010. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model deskriptif kualitatif, dengan tahapan reduksi data, pembahasan, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk dekonstruksi dimensi kekriyaan dalam representasi estetis seni rupa kontemporer Yogyakarta berkaitan dengan domain teknis penciptaan dan isi karyanya, yang direpresentasikan secara dekonstruktif. Dari sisi isinya, hasil ciptaan tersebut tak lagi sebagai representasi kekriyaan baik dari sisi praksis fungsional maupun keadiluhungannya, melainkan lebih sebagai fungsi kritik sosial. Adapun faktor penyebab kuatnya dekonstruksi dimensi kekriyaan dalam representasi estetis seni rupa kontemporer Yogyakarta meliputi cukup kuatnya pengaruh faham postmodernisme yang mengiringi perkembangan kebudayaan di era kontemporer ini, sebagai antitesis faham modernisme. Hal ini diwujudkan dengan menolak prinsip logosentrisme-monosemik, dan menawarkan prinsip baru, yakni pluralitas serta partikularitas-polisemik dalam berkebudayaan dan berkesenian, beserta segala narasi besar yang menyertainya.
