Abstract

Teachers apply the theories in the campus into reality in the classroom. Unfortunately, they face the truth that some students feel anxious in learning English. The language anxiety makes the students can not explore their performance. It becomes teachers’ anxiety when the students deal with the feeling. The aim of the community service is to discuss and brainstorm between lecturers as experts and teachers as practicians. It aims to analyze the teachers’ anxiety in teaching English. The community service is held in Cililin in January 2020. The community service is started by explaining Language Anxiety. Then, the lecturers explain about Coping Strategies. Then, they explain about teaching English based on Industrial Era 4.0 through cultural literation of Cililin. It is closed by the QnA session. Some of the lecturers by the committee. The result is the teacher's anxiety level is quite high. By joining the event of community service, the teachers can decrease their anxiety because the lecturers can give several advice and solutions. The conclusion is the anxiety level of English teachers in senior high schools can be decreased when they discuss with the lecturers in a community service event.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi perspektif seorang guru pamong terhadap kompetensi mahasiswa yang telah melaksanakan PPL (Praktik Pengalaman Lapangan) pada sekolah menengah pertama di Cimahi. Hal ini dilakukan karena guru pamong sebagai subyek penelitian adalah pengguna sekaligus penilai kompetensi mahasiswa (dikaitkan dengan kompetensi guru), dalam memenuhi satu prasyarat mata kuliah yaitu PPL. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan wawancara sebagai instrumen. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisa dan didapatkan hasil yang menunjukkan bila kemampuan mahasiswa PPL masih sangat harus ditingkatkan dalam beberapa hal khususnya yang berkaitan dengan kompetensi kepribadian. Hal ini perlu diatasi dengan memberikan penekanan khusus dari kampus agar mereka mampu berpikir kritis dan membantu memberikan solusi terhadap berbagai permasalahan di sekolah khususnya yang berkaitan dengan peserta didik.

Abstract

Menulis bukanlah sebuah keterampilan yang mudah, ia membutuhkan berbagai prasyarat seperti jumlah kosa kata, tata bahasa dan susunan kata yang menghasilkan makna. Menghadapi era masyarakat 5.0 yang merupakan lanjutan dari fase perkembangan manusia sejak berburu dan meramu, masyarakat agrikultur, masyarakat industrialisasi, dan masyarakat informasi, membuat menulis mendjadi faktor yang penting. Sebagian besar pertukaran informasi terjadi melalui tulisan melalui teknologi digital sebagai sarana untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pembangunan masyarakat dan membentuk nilai-nilai baru. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di IKIP Siliwangi dengan peserta mayoritas mahasiswa berjumlah 40 orang yang disampaikan melalui webinar.  Dalam pelaksanaanya, ada dua tahap, yaitu: 1) Tahap pemaparan , yaitu pengenalan tentang apa itu masyarakat 5.0, kaitannya dengan menulis dan apa tujuan diadakannya webinar, 2) Tahap tanya jawab, dimana siswa menyampaikan permasalahan yang ada terkait topic.Kata Kunci:  masyarakat 5.0, menulis, teknologi digital.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the correlation between  writing skills of class VII students and their oral knowledge of the material. The object of this study is 64 students of VII grade SMPN in Padalarang. The method of this research is quantitative. The writer utilized a multiple-choice exam that comprised 30 test items to assess the student master's vocabulary results. This study indicated that the mean for the student was 65,12 more than the intended mean 53,5 in vocabulary degree. The average writing capability of pupils was 60.76 around the optimum norm of 70. The result shows that the correlation between vocabulary knowledge and the skill of composing text is favourable and substantial. It indicates that knowledge of vocabulary impacts the capacity of writing. Keywords:  Writing Skill; Vocabulary Mastery; Correlation

Abstract

The aims of study is to determine the influence  of watching English film towards  students' pronunciation in speaking practice. The method was the quantitative method of pre experiment one group pretest posttest design. The population was taken from class VIII  students from one of the junior high schools in Talegong in the 2020/2021 academic year. The data was taken from posttest and  pretest one group design to know the students' pronunciation ability. The research was conducted by asking students to watch English film as a medium to improve students' pronunciation skills. The data that has been collected was analyzed using Paired T test and the results showed the pretest (0.007) and the post-test (0.16. It means that the results of pretest was lower than posttest. To find out the difference in these values, then the researcher used a paired Sample T test to organize the parametric statistical data of the study so that they are normally distributed. The data showed that the Sample Paired T test sig (two sides) is 0.000, with a significance level of 0.05. The result is a significance of 0.000 and < 0.05 meaning that the results are lower than the significant level, there is a difference between the post test and pretest data. We can conclude that the hypothesis (H0) is rejected  and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It shows that  the students’ pronunciation is improved through watching English film many times.

Abstract

Indonesia is happening in switching language and language style communication. There are many different types of media that we can use to see how code switching works, and one of them is Vlog. The purposes of this research, researchers to analyze the types of code-switching Zhafira Aqyla’s vlog and to identify the most dominant types of code-switching. This research used by using descriptive qulitative method. Based theory of  (Wiley, 2019), the first step to start this research is to collect information through watching the videos. The second is researchers analyzed of available data. Then, the third compiles the results by categories the tyes of code-switching based on Poplack theory.
