Abstract

Malaria was a disease that caused many mortalities in developing countries. In solving this problem, it was needed a focused and directed mentoring continuously. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of malaria cadres on drug intake supervision, the use of mosquito net and environmental modification on malaria sufferers at Public Health Center of Waipukang. This research was analytic observational research with cross sectional study design. The results showed that the average knowledge of malaria cadres was still low. Malaria cadres in Public Health Center of Waipukang were less effective in monitoring the consuming of malaria drugs, mosquito nets usage, and environmental modification in their areas. Furthermore, there were 78% of people who used mosquito net properly and 54% of families obediently did environmental modification efforts. Abstract

ABSTRAK Wilayah NTT merupakah wilayah yang banyak ditumbuhi oleh tanaman tropis salah satunya adalah kelor. Pohon kelor memunyai banyak manfaat bagi kesehatan oleh karena itu pohon ini mempunyai nama lain sebagai pohon ajaib. Pemerintah Propinsi NTT membuka lahan untuk budidaya kelor sampai dengan menghasilkan produk seperti bubuk kelor, teh kelor dan kopi kelor. Namun usaha tersebut mengalami banyak kendala di lapangan sampai dengan proses pengepakan serta uji standar mutu Produk yang dihasilkan oleh karena itu dibutuhkan kerjasama dari banyak pihak untuk memberikan support sistem terhadap kebijakan pemerintah tersebut. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pelatihan pengelolaan pangan yang higienes dan pendampingan pengembangan berbagai jenis produk pangan berbahan dasar kelor. Metode pengabdian masyarakat yang digunakan adalah memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan tentang pengelolaan pangan yang higienes dan pengembangan berbagai jenis produk pangan berbahan dasar kelor terhadap 6 peserta di Desa Otan Kecamatan Semau Kabupaten Kupang Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur pada tanggal 03 Juli – 04 Juli 2021. Hasil kegitaan ini diambil menggunakan penilaian pre test dan post test. Pada aspek pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra terdapat perubahan yang signifikan bahwa seluruhnya dari peserta memiliki pengetahuan baik tentang pengelolaan pangan yang higienes dan pengembangan berbagai jenis produk pangan berbahan dasar kelor. Kesimpulan terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta tentang pengelolaan pangan yang higienes dan pendampingan pengembangan berbagai jenis produk pangan berbahan dasar kelor. Kata Kunci: Pendampingan, Kelor, UMKM  ABSTRACT The NTT region is an area that is overgrown by tropical plants, one of which is Moringa. Moringa tree has many benefits for health, therefore this tree has another name as a magic tree. The NTT Provincial Government opened land for the cultivation of Moringa to produce products such as Moringa powder, Moringa tea and Moringa coffee. However, the business encountered many obstacles in the field, up to the packaging process and testing of product quality standards, therefore cooperation from many parties was needed to provide system support for the government's policy. The purpose of this community service is to provide training in hygienic food management and assistance in the development of various types of moringa-based food products. The community service method used is to provide training and assistance on hygienic food management and the development of various types of moringa-based food products to 6 participants in Otan Village, Semau District, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province on 03 July – 04 July 2021. The results of this activity taken using pre-test and post-test assessments. In the aspect of knowledge and skills of partners, there was a significant change that all of the participants had good knowledge of hygienic food management and the development of various types of moringa-based food products. The conclusion is that there is an increase in participants' knowledge and skills about hygienic food management and assistance in the development of various types of moringa-based food products. Keywords: Mentoring, Moringa, UMKM

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) cases in 2020 in East Nusa Tenggara Province were 5,126 with the highest TB cases being Kupang City, with 522 cases or prevalence rate = 118 per 100,000 population with a low cure rate. A person's behavior about TB can affect the incidence of TB and its treatment. This study aims to determine the knowledge and attitudes of the people in Kupang City about tuberculosis. This type of research is descriptive research with knowledge and attitude variables. The sample in this study were 100 respondents from the community in Kupang City. Data was collected using a questionnaire in a google form which was shared via Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. The data collected were processed and analyzed descriptively to see the frequency distribution of the research variables. The knowledge of the community in Kupang City about tuberculosis is 90% including the Good category, 8% in the sufficient category and 2% in the less category. The attitude of the people in Kupang City in the treatment and prevention of tuberculosis transmission is mostly in the Good category (99%) and the remaining 1% is in the Less category. Although the knowledge and attitudes of the community are mostly good, there is still a need for counseling about knowledge, especially about the transmission method of TB which will have an impact on community actions in preventing TB and reducing the incidence of TB in the community.

Abstract

Background: Quality of the learning process can be said to be good if successfully change attitudes, behaviors and skills of learners in accordance with the purpose of education. So that the learning process can be done well and achieved the standard of competence that is expected, required a Learning Process Standards for educational institutions that includes planning, implementation, assessment and monitoring. Purpose: Get an overview of the application of quality standards on aspects of PBM Planning, Human Resources and Organization in Jurusan/Prodi Poltekkes Kemenkes Kupang. Research Methodology: This research is a descriptive study, the design (design) evaluative study of the retrospective observational nature. Population in this research is the program manager in the Jurusan/ Prodi Politeknik Kesehatan Kemenkes Kupang consists of Kajur/Kaprodi, Sekjur/Sekprodi, responsible person in charge of academic and student affairs. The total population of 36 people (N = 36) consisted of: Kupang Nursing, Midwifery, Environmental Health, Pharmacy, Dental Nursing, Nutrition, Health Analyst, Prodi Nursing Ende and Waingapu, each four (4) people per Department/Prodi. The experiment was conducted for three months, ie May to July 2011. The data were processed and analyzed using descriptive analysis. Aspects studied/unit of analysis is the planning aspect of PBM, HR and organizational aspects, aspects of student. Results: PBM planning, HR is not in accordance with the defined quality standards polytechnic MoH Kupang, Application of the organizational structure as well as the accessories according Ortal MOH guidelines, Documenting HR file has not all been well documented, not all lecturers Placement qualification standards lecturer, lecturer to student ratio is still not according to the standard. Suggestion: Need good planning to PBM and human resources in the Ministry of Health polytechnic Kupang so as to achieve the expected quality standards. Need a good organization to document all relevant files the learning process so as to achieve quality standards that have been set.

Abstract

Lewoleba Public Health Center and Waipukang Public Health Center are included in several Public Health Centers in Lembata District which show the high rates of malaria based on microscopic diagnosis methods. To see if there is a decrease in malaria cases, it is necessary to do a positive rate slide check to calculate the number of malaria positive patients. In order for the results of the examination to be truly valid, effective and efficient, it is carried out by a screening method to obtain True Positive and True Negative numbers, so that the results can be used as a database at the Public Health Center. This study aims to get a real picture of positive malaria cases after treatment, eradication and prevention efforts carried out by the government and donor sector. This type of research is a study of Analytical Epidemiology with screening methods and using a cross-sectional study design. Screening results of malaria sufferers in the Lewoleba Public Health Center with a sample of 600 people: True positive = 29 people, True negative = 555 people, Sensitivity (Sens) = 82.85%, Specificity = 98.20%, prevalence = 6, 51%. Screening results of malaria sufferers in Waipukang Public Health Center with a sample of 574 people: True positive = 537 people, True negative = 10 people, Sensitivity (Sens) = 95.8%, Specificity = 71.4%, prevalence = 94, 25%. The number of positive malaria cases in the Lewoleba Public Health Center work area was 29 people, while the positive malaria case in the Waipukang Public Health Center work area was 537 people.
