Abstract

Infused water is drinking water that has been given additional pieces of fruit so that the water gives a certain sensation of water. Infused water are consumed by the community because the manufacturing process is easy and use local fruits. To determine the vitamin content (A and C), mineral content (K, Ca, Mg) and acceptability of infused water with sample codes (A, B and C). The benefits of this study are to be able to add to the list of healthy and nutritious drinks that are beneficial for health because infused water contains vitamins and minerals. Experiments with Complete Random Design (CRD), Sample code A, B and C in the analysis of vitamin levels, mineral content and acceptability. Acceptance analysis was carried out Friedman test and Wilcoxon test. Vitamin and mineral levels were analyzed by ANOVA and LSD statistics. Infused water contains mineral potassium, calcium and magnesium and contains vitamins A and C, there are significant differences between the sample code A, B and C. Infused water containing minerals, vitamins, and accepted by the community.

Abstract

Helminth infections are common in children. This infection attacks more children because their activities are more related to the soil, and the child's diet does not recognize hygiene and hygienic food quality. Diagnosis is done by stool examination to find helminth eggs, can also be supported by eosinophil examination. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of helminthiasis with the number of peripheral blood eosinophils in student’s elementary school Gebangsari 01. This study was an observational study using a cross-sectional approach. The population was 40 students in grades 3 and 4. The sample is a total population of 40 people. Fourteen students were not infected with soil transmitted helminth and the eosinophil count was normal. Most students have a clean and healthy lifestyle until 100% negative worm infections. There is no relationship between behavior with the number of eosinophils of student’s in elementary school Gebangsari 01.

Abstract

The body's form of defense or natural immune response against intracellular bacteria is phagocytosis. Cells capable of phagocytosing macrophages in natural responses play a role in presenting antigens to lymphocytes in specific immune responses. The number of lymphocytes associated with the incidence of death in TB patients in hospitals. This study aims to determine the lymphocyte profile in pulmonary TB patients with new cases in the city of Semarang in 2020. This study uses a descriptive-analytic research design. The population in this study were new cases of pulmonary TB patients at the Semarang Health Center in 2020. The sample in this study was new cases of pulmonary TB patients at the Semarang Health Center from September to October 2020. The results showed that the newest cases of pulmonary TB were male (59%), and based on age the most were productive age (87.8%), and the lymphocyte profile of 78% of respondents had relative lymphopenia, 19.5% of respondents were normal and 2.4% of respondents experienced relative lymphocytosis. Overall, it can be said that the profile of patients with lymphopenia is 14.63%, and relative lymphopenia is 78%.

Abstract

Abstract According to Sopiah (2021), hypertension is still the cause of frequent deaths. Physiological and degenerative processes that occur in the elderly can cause changes in cholesterol levels. Hypertensive factors can be caused due to the occurrence of hypercholesterolemia. If a person is affected by hypertension and hypercholesterolemia, it can be dangerous for the health of the elderly. One of the important parameters in assessing the risk of hypertension is total cholesterol. As we get older, most elderly people suffer from cholesterol because the body is no longer able to move freely so that a lot of cholesterol accumulates in the liver, so the elderly need a balance between diet and exercise to avoid excess cholesterol (Susanto, 2010 in Putri, 2016). The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between cholesterol levels and blood pressure. The benefits of this study are that it can add information to the public about the relationship between cholesterol levels and blood pressure, know the causes and effects of high cholesterol and blood pressure, and can increase self-awareness about the importance of maintaining cholesterol levels and blood pressure. The type of research used was observational which was descriptive and 36 samples were obtained. The results of normal cholesterol levels were obtained by 6 respondents (19.44%) and high cholesterol levels as many as 30 respondents (80.56%), in the results of normal blood pressure there were 24 respondents (66.67%) and high blood pressure as many as 12 respondents (33.33%). The results of the chi-square statistical test can be seen that p-vaue = 0.343 (> 0.05), which means that there is no relationship between cholesterol levels and blood pressure in the elderly community of RW IX Sendangmulyo Village, Tembalang District, Semarang City. The conclusion of this study is that there is no relationship between cholesterol levels and blood pressure. Keywords: Cholesterol Levels, Blood Pressure, Elderly © 20xx Universitas Abdurrab

Abstract

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death globally and one of the main risk factors is impaired lipid profiles due to smoking habits (Naomi et al., 2021). Smoking has a significant effect on lipid metabolism. Several studies have shown that smoking habits can cause increased levels of total cholesterol, LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein), and triglycerides, and decreased levels of HDL (High Density Lipoprotein) (Amalia, n.d.) 2018. This imbalance contributes to the risk of cardiovascular disease, atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease (Amalia, n.d.). This study aims to determine the lipid profile of conventional smokers in motorcycle repair shop workers on Jalan Wolter Monginsidi Semarang Method: This study is a descriptive quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach. Analysis Results Lipid profile levels of conventional smokers in motorcycle repair shop workers on Jalan Wolter Munginsidi total cholesterol levels showed significant differences between smoker groups with a p value = 0.010. The average total cholesterol level in light smokers was 141.92±18.97 mg/dL, moderate smokers 150.76±26.86 mg/dL, and heavy smokers 207.70±50.13 mg/dL. This indicates that the heavier the smoker classification, the higher the total cholesterol level. For triglyceride, LDL, and HDL levels, although there were differences in the mean between groups, the statistical test results did not show a significant difference (p>0.05). This indicates that the number of cigarettes consumed per day has a greater influence on increasing total cholesterol levels than other lipid parameters. Conclusion: The number of cigarettes consumed per day has a greater influence on increasing total cholesterol levels than other lipid parameters.
