Abstract

Women have an important role in their position in household life, but this is often used as the main cause of women having limitations in other fields such as the economy, education and even politics. Kedah State is one of the areas in Malaysia which is the location for international scale community service activities. This activity was held to see how far the role of women's empowerment is involved in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals on poverty. For this reason, this community service activity will provide a solution for the Kedah community with the aim of providing knowledge to partners regarding women's empowerment in increasing economic, social and cultural values ​​and efforts that can be made to increase it. The method used in this community service is through socialization, delivery of material and discussion, and answer directly to the community. The results obtained from this activity are the lower ability of women than men, the existence of cultural involvement in society and the lack of functioning of the role of local community institutions. Community service activities carried out in the form of outreach to women's groups in Kampung Singkir Kedah Malaysia were able to provide knowledge and understanding of the importance of women's role in improving the family economy by improving self-quality through good social interaction and education.

Abstract

The research focuses on the serious threat that land or forest fires pose to Riau Province, with their profound effects on the environment, society, and economy. This research aims to identify urgent interests related to fire problems in Riau Province, analyze factors that support and hinder fire management, and develop policy recommendations to improve mitigation efforts. The data analysis process in this research relies on the Nvivo 12 Plus platform, allowing for more efficient collection, presentation and processing of qualitative data. The research results show several factors that support the implementation of agile governance, including active stakeholder involvement, adequate use of technology, and development of an integrated Geographic Information System (GIS). However, inhibiting factors were found, such as lack of resources and resistance to change. The proposed policy recommendations include strengthening stakeholder involvement through collaborative forums, improving technological infrastructure, increasing public awareness, developing rapid response protocols, regular monitoring and evaluation, strengthening laws and law enforcement, and promoting inter-regional and inter-institutional cooperation. The urgency reflects the necessity of responding promptly to prevent the damaging effects of forest and land fires on the environment, public health, and local economy.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the readiness of the Indragiri Hulu Regency government, especially Satpol PP and KPBD, to implement the Si ATAN BEDA application, which has been implemented. E-Readiness analysis was carried out using the STOPE approach. The Si ATAN BEDA service application functions as a channel for public complaints, making it easier for the public to submit reports and complaints regarding disturbances of peace, public order, and regional disasters. Implementing the Si ATAN BEDA application service has not shown optimal results due to the government's lack of understanding regarding E-Readiness and making decisions without adequate consideration of the facts. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. After the field data was collected, the data was processed using NVivo 12 to provide a visual depiction of the field findings and analyzed based on the theory that supports the findings. The results and discussion concluded that the STOPE framework model, which consists of strategy, technology, organization, people, and environment, is the most appropriate model for evaluating the E-Readiness of the Indragiri Hulu Regency government. In the strategy domain, there is a lack of leadership roles in providing direction and supervision, as well as weaknesses in application development planning. The technology domain shows that there are obstacles in application use and security that still need to be strengthened. The lack of cooperation between the government and the private sector in implementing applications is a challenge in the organizational domain. The human resources domain shows that officers' skill qualifications are not aligned with their educational background, and their understanding of applications still needs to be improved. Meanwhile, in the environmental domain of public knowledge, the lack of public knowledge about the application shows a lack of socialization by the government, so the community has not fully felt the benefits.

Abstract

Bank sampah merupakan salah satu upaya pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah berbasis partisipasi warga yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan nilai ekonomi sampah sekaligus menjaga kebersihan lingkungan. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini dilaksanakan di Bank Sampah Maju Bersama yang berlokasi di RT.02 RW.12 Kelurahan Air Dingin, Kecamatan Bukit Raya, Kota Pekanbaru. Bank sampah ini tergolong baru berdiri dan masih menghadapi beberapa permasalahan utama, yaitu rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam memilah sampah produktif, jumlah nasabah yang masih terbatas akibat kurangnya informasi mengenai keberadaan bank sampah, serta minimnya sarana dan prasarana pendukung kegiatan penimbangan dan pencatatan sampah. Metode pelaksanaan PKM dilakukan melalui observasi lapangan, sosialisasi dan edukasi kepada masyarakat berbasis komunitas, serta pemberian fasilitas pendukung bank sampah. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman masyarakat, khususnya ibu-ibu rumah tangga, mengenai pentingnya pengelolaan dan pemilahan sampah sejak dari sumbernya. Selain itu, penyediaan papan nama bank sampah serta sarana prasarana penunjang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat dan mendukung tertib administrasi pengelolaan bank sampah. Kegiatan PKM ini diharapkan mampu mendorong keberlanjutan Bank Sampah Maju Bersama sebagai sarana pengelolaan lingkungan yang memberikan manfaat ekonomi dan sosial bagi masyarakat sekitar.

Abstract

Kemasan produk berperan penting memberikan daya tarik untuk meningkatkan minat konsumen serta daya saing produk di pasar. Namun, masih terdapat usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM) masih menggunakan kemasan berbahan plastik konvensional yang berdampak negatif terhadap lingkungan. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan pelaku usaha UMKM Batik Lambo Sari di Terengganu, Malaysia, untuk dapat memanfaatkan sustainable packaging berbahan ramah lingkungan. Metode kegiatan dilakukan dengan memberikan penyuluhan dan pelatihan, kelompok mitra diperkenalkan dengan konsep kemasan berkelanjutan, seperti penggunaan bahan daur ulang ramah lingkungan berbasis sumber daya terbarukan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan pemahaman peserta semakin meningkat terhadap kemasan berkelanjutan dan peserta mulai mampu memahami mendesain kemasan yang ramah lingkungan dengan tetap mengkedepankan aspek fungsional dan estetika. Diperlukan dukungan lebih lanjut dari pemerintah dan berbagai pihak terkait untuk mendorong adopsi kemasan berkelanjutan secara lebih luas. Kegiatan ini sejalan dengan tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan (SDGs) terkait industri, inovasi, dan infrastruktur, serta kemitraan untuk mencapai tujuan.
