Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Barrett Taxonomy Reorganization Method on the intensive reading ability of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Duampanua, Pinrang Regency, 2019/2020 academic year. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with True Experimental Design. The variables in this study were the Barrett Taxonomy Reorganization Method and intensive reading skills. The experimental group was class VIII.1 students and the control group was grade VIII.3 students of SMP Negeri 2 Duampanua, Pinrang Regency. Research data collection techniques in the form of tests. The results showed that the intensive reading ability using the Barrett Taxonomy Reorganization method was higher than the intensive reading ability using the conventional method for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Duampanua, Pinrang Regency. This is evidenced by the results of the t-test with a significance level of 5% (95% confidence level) obtained t count (3.061)> t table (0.278). The value of t count> t table shows that the intensive reading skills of the two groups differ significantly. Therefore, it can be concluded that the effect of the Barrett Taxonomy Reorganization method can not only improve students' understanding but also their reading ability.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the conservation of oral literature through local wisdom based on creative industries in the Tidung Island community. The method used in this study is ethnography with observation, interview, and document techniques. The theory of performance structure by Koster as the theory used in this study, the value of local wisdom with the concept of John M. Echol and Hasan Syadily which is in accordance with the local wisdom of the people of Tidung Island, and the creative industry by Sariono in the show in the form of creative work of the people of Tidung Island. The results of this study: (1) the performance structure of Palang Pintu on Tidung Island in 2022, (2) The value of Islamic local wisdom in the Palang Pintu performance in the Tidung Island community,  and (3) The creative industry of the Palang Pintu show on Tidung Island which was developed through a collaborative performance between Mandar silat as a local culture of the Tidung Island community by creating Betawi rhymes that are in accordance with the language and oral literary value on the Tidung Island.Keywords: conservation; creative industry; local wisdom; Palang Pintu; Tidung Island

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Indonesian teacher's strategy in dealing with the weak interest in learning Indonesian in grade 8 students of SMPN 1 Bontonompo Selatan. The research instruments in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. The data sources used in this study are primary and secondary data sources. The approach in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection techniques are documentation guidelines, interview guidelines, and observation guidelines. Data analysis techniques are the identifying stage, the classifying stage, the analyzing stage, and the describing stage. The research results obtained from this study are: the strategies used by Indonesian teachers in dealing with weak interest in learning Indonesian language education in grade 8 SMPN 1 Bontonompo Selatan using three strategies namely conducting diagnostic tests, using various media and methods and establishing cooperation between teachers and parents of students. This strategy is the choice of Indonesian language teachers in dealing with students' weak interest in learning to increase student motivation and interest in learning.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas 2 SD Negeri Alluka Kecamatan Bontonompo Selatan Kabupaten Gowa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Tempat dan waktu dalam penelitian ini di SD Negeri Alluka pada tanggal 22 Mei 2023. Subjek penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu 27 siswa kelas 2. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu observasi, tes dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam meningkatan kemampuan membaca melalui media kartu kata bergambar pada siswa kelas II SDN Alluka dapat di terapkan. Hal ini dapat di lihat pada nilai rata-rata hasil belajar pada siklus I terdapat 17 siswa (62%) yang tuntas membaca permulaan menggunakan media kartu kata bergambar di kelas II SDN Alluka dan siklus II menjadi 23 siswa (85%) yang tuntas memahami kemampuan membaca permulaan dengan penerapan media kartu kata bergambar pada siswa kelas II SDN Alluka, Kabupaten Gowa.

Abstract

The main problem in this research is how to apply the EGP method based on audio-visual media to improve the ability to write short stories in class IX students of SMPN 3 Pallangga, Gowa Regency. This study aims to improve the ability to write short stories through the EGP method based on audio-visual media in class IX students of SMPN 3 Pallangga. This type of research is class action research (Class Action Research). Research procedures include planning, implementation of action, observation and reflection. The subjects in this study were 25 students of class IX 6 at SMPN 3 Pallangga, Pallangga Regency. The results showed that in the first cycle, out of 25 students, only 5 students met the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) or were in the low category. Classically it has not been fulfilled because the average value obtained is 69.56%. Whereas in cycle II where out of 25 students there were 23 students who had fulfilled the KKM and classically it had been fulfilled, namely the average value obtained was 84.36% or was in the very high category. Based on the results of the research above, it can be concluded that the ability to write short stories in class IX students of SMPN 3 Pallangga, Gowa Regency through the application of the EGP method based on audio-visual media has increased.
