The aim of the research are (1) to know an influence on the development of Adobe-Flash multimedia programs on the ability of students to improve vocabulary skills in English. (2) to find the percentage of the influence of the development of multimedia programs on the ability of students to improve vocabulary skills in English. This research is an experimental research. The program implementation technique for this research is a preliminary test used to measure students' vocabulary abilities of the material being taught while the final test is carried out to determine student learning outcomes after being treated using Multimedia-based Object-Oriented Programming (AdobeFlash) learning methods in English. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam hal keterampilan berbicara dengan menggunakan Strategi Quantum Learning. Dari hasil penelitian dapat dilihat dari 72 orang siswa, dalam mendeskripsikan hasil penelitian ini, peneliti membagi dalam 3 tahap yaitu: Deskripsi hasil perhitungan kemampuan berbicara mahasiswa fakultas keguruan dan ilmu pendidikan jurusan bahasa Inggris tanpa strategi Quantum Learning. Deskripsi hasil perhitungan kemampuan berbicara mahasiswa fakultas keguruan dan ilmu pendidikan jurusan bahasa Inggris dengan menggunakan strategi Quantum Learning. Deskripsi hasil hubungan antara pengaruh penggunaan strategi Quantum Learning terhadap kemampuan berbicara mahasiswa FKIP jurusan bahasa Inggris.Kata Kunci: Pengaruh, Pembelajaran, Strategi, Prestasi, Berbicara, Quantum

This study deals with the analysis of Denotative and Connotative meaning on the Jakarta Post article. The objectives of the study was to find out the types of meaning used in Jakarta Post Article, to find out the types of the dominant meaning used on Jakarta post article and to explain the meaning of the most dominant types used on Jakarta Post article.This study was conducted by applying descriptive qualitative method. The data were taken from Jakarta Post Article, which published from October 2017, November 2017, and December 2017. The finding showed that total of Denotative meaning is 88 (63,3%) and total of Connotative meaning is 51 (36,6%) that is found from 6 articles. Its hope that the result of this study will be useful to everyone who wants to study meaning Jakarta Post Article.Keywords: Denotative Meaning, Connotative Meaning, Descriptive Qualitative Design.

This study aims to describe the effect of Mind Mapping Learning Model on students' ability in writing in Public Speaking courses. The subjects of the study were all three semester students of English education which amounted to four classes of 60 students. This research uses questionnaires data which is distributed to 60 English Semester Three Students at UMSU. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis which include mean, median, standard error and standard deviation, and t test to know the influence of Mind Mapping Learning Model to students ability in writing in Public Speaking course. This study aims to improve the ability to speak English in students in Medan. In this study, research data collection techniques used observation, interviews and documentation methods. The data sources for this study were students at SMA Negeri 6 Medan in class XI MIA2. By applying the Student Team Achievement Division learning model and using dialogue media. the research instrument is test, observation sheet, interview (Classroom Acton Research) . This study uses a qualitative and quantitative design. The research data analysis technique uses three steps, namely 1. Data reduction, 2. Data presentation, 3. Making conclusions. Findings from data analysis, Before applying the Studnet Team Achievement Division (STAD) learning model, there were 30 students (96%) who did not complete with a score of 44.46-66.67. and 6 (4%) students 78.78 - 88.89 completed with grades. And after applying the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) learning model, in the first cycle there were 35 students (99%) who scored 78.78. 88.89 this value has exceeded the KKM score of 75% and 1 student (1%) did not complete. There was an increase of 26.15. The conclusion is that the application of the Student Team Achievement Division learning model is very effective in improving students' speaking skills.

This study entitled “Analysis the Effect of Polysemy on the Speech Learning from Covid-19 by Nadiem Makarim to Elementary School Student”. The objectives of this study were (1) to identify the types of polysemy, (2) to investigate polysemy elements used in the speech, and (3) to identify the effect of polysemy were used on the speech to elementary students. The descriptive qualitative is applied in this study. The data were obtained from the speech by Nadiem makarim using documentation method. Afterward, analysis of this study use data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing and verification. The findings of the research show that there are 65 data of polysemy’s words which find in Learning from Covid-19 speech. Based on the types of polysemy, most of Irregular Polysemy were 38 words (58.5%) and followed by Regular Polysemy with 27 words (41.5%). The effect of polysemy on the speech to the elementary student has not been widely applied to elementary school students. Inasmuch as, the student has limited complex reasoning to a word that has another meaning and is critical. In a sentence, polysemy plays an important role and has the function to distinguish the meaning of a word meaning.

This research is entitled Analysis the Increase Learning Outcomes in Poets Subject Through CTL Approach to Grade III of State Elementary School 060807 Medan. The reason for this research is to improve the learning outcomes and learning exercises of grade III of State Elementary School 060807 Medan in learning to write poetry. This study utilized classroom research activities conducted in two cycles with student research subjects as the research method. Research information collection methods in the form of test and non-test procedure methods. At that point, the analysis in this consider used the quantitative method. The results of this study show an increase in student learning results. In the preaction test, the average value was 59.57, while in cycle I the normal value was 72.50. In this way the increment in the normal value of writing poetry from the preaction to cycle I was 12.75 points. In cycle II the normal score came to 81, an increase of 8.5 points from cycle I and 21.25 points from the preaction test. Based on the research comes about, teachers are advised to apply the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach since it is demonstrated to progress student learning results.
