Abstract

High demand for shallots needs to be supported by an increase of yield in each region. The use of high-yield cultivar is one of the ways that can be done to increase the productivity of shallot conducted. Bangka has a soil of the Ultisol type, so adaptive cultivars on the land are indispensable. The research was carried out at the Experimental and Research Garden of Universitas Bangka Belitung. This study aims to determine the potential yield of onions and adaptive onion cultivars in Bangka Ultisol soil. The method used is a Randomized Block Design (RBD). Consists of 5 cultivars, such as Ambassador 1, Ambassador 2, Violetta, Keramat, and Maja Cipanas. Violetta is the most adaptive cultivar, that can grow to the height of the plant and the number of leaves that are almost equivalent to the onion plant planted in its native place. The onion cultivar that has the best yield potential to be grown in the Ultisol land of Bangka Regency is the Violetta cultivar because the weight of the bulbs and the number of bulbs produced are almost equivalent to the onion plants grown in their native area.

Abstract

Pasokan lada Indonesia salah satunya berasal dari Provinsi Bangka Belitung dengan produk lada putih yang terkenal secara populer dengan muntok white pepper. Pengendalian hama terpadu belum menjadi fokus utama karena sebagian besar petani lada masih menerapkan pengendalian hama menggunakan pestisida / insektisida kimia sintetik. Penggunaan insektisida sintetik yang berlebihan menjadikan lingkungan tercemar dan berdampak buruk pada keseimbangan ekosistem bahkan kesehatan petani. Untuk itu, pengendalian secara terpadu menggunakan pestisida nabati perlu dimaksimalkan dalam rangka menjaga stabilitas produksi komoditas lada sekaligus mempertahankan kondisi lingkungan yang bebas bahan pencemar kimia. Pestisida nabati memiliki prospek yang baik sebagai teknologi alternatif pengganti pestisida sintetik. Optimalisasi program KRPL (Kawasan Rumah Pangan Lestari) merupakan upaya intensifikasi pemanfaatan pagar hidup, pekarangan rumah, jalan desa, dan fasilitas umum lainnya (sekolah, rumah ibadah), serta lahan terbuka hijau. Selain kendala pemanfaatan pekarangan untuk menanam tanaman sumber pestisida nabati masih belum pernah dilakukan masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan di Desa Namang Kecamatan Namang Kabupaten Bangka Tengah. Kegiatan yang telah dilakukan dipusatkan dirumah kediaman Bapak Wahid, Bapak Rozi dan Kantor Kepala Desa Namang. Kegiatan yang telah dilakukan meliputi pelatihan petani mitra mengenai teknik produksi bibit lada sehat, produksi pestisida nabati berbasis tanaman pekarangan dan optimalisasi pekarangan sebagai unit usahatani berskala mikro

Abstract

Tin mining activities on Bangka Island cause the land to become nutrient-poor. Post-tin mining land use was done by adding ameliorant and cultivating pakchong grass. This research aimed to see the growth and yield of pakchong grass in post-tin mining land by applying mycorrhiza, biosaka and NPK fertilizer. This research was carried out on post-tin mining land in Dwi Makmur Village, Merawang District, Bangka Regency from March 2023 to July 2023. This research used a Randomized Group Factorial Design (RAKF) consisting of 2 treatment factors. The first factor was giving Mycorrhiza (B1) and Without Mycorrhiza (B2). The second factor was NPK 100% (P1), NPK 75% + Biosaka (P2) and NPK 50% + Biosaka (P3). The analysis of variance showed that mycorrhizal treatment had a significant effect on the number of leaves and tillers and had no significant effect on other treatments. Giving NPK + Biosaka treatment had a very significant effect on the number of leaves and had no significant effect on other treatments. The mycorrhiza  to pakchong plants grows better than without giving mycorrhiza. Giving a fertilizer to the 75% NPK + Biosaka (P2) treatment had no significant effect on the 100% NPK (P1) treatment. Giving mycorrhiza + NPK 75% (B1P2) results in higher plant height and leaf number compared to other treatments.

Abstract

The pepper (Piper nigrum L.) a plantation crop that widely cultivated farmers in Indonesia, especially in Bangka Belitung Islands. One of the challenges of pepper cultivation in Bangka Belitung is the reduction in land conversion caused by tin mining. Tin mining causes high levels heavy metal content. The heavy metal lead (Pb) is element that can influence its growth. Pb are will become an inhibitor of enzyme formation which inhibits plant metabolism and effect growh of pepper. The aim of this research to determine the effect of giving Pb to both varieties and determine which varieties are adaptive in planting media containing Pb. This research was carried out April to July, at Bangka Belitung University. The method used was experiment and the design used was a randomized (RAKF). Treatment consists 2 factors. The first factor is Petaling 1 cultivar and the Nyelungkup cultivar. The second factor, Pb concentration which consists of Pb concentration of 0 ppm, 100 ppm and 200 ppm. Data analysis used the F test (ANOVA) followed the Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The research results showed each cultivar did not have a real influence on the observed parameters. Aplication Pb concentrations 100 and 200 Ppm had effect on plant height, number of leaves, increasing number of shoots, leaf area and root length and root fresh weight. Nyelungkup cultivar is a cultivar that is better able to adapt to growing media contaminated with the heavy metal Pb better than Petaling 1.

Abstract

Post tin mining tailings land in Bangka Belitung Islands Province has an area of around 400 000 ha. In terms of area, the land has the potential to be used as cultivated land, one of which is melon. The aims of the study is to see the effect of cow manure fertilizer and drip irrigation water volume on  melon plants growth in post tin mining tailings area. This research was conducted from June to August 2018 in the tailings area of Dewi Makmur Village, Merawang District, Bangka Regency. This experimental  used a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial method. The first factor was cow manure with three levels (K1 = 2.5 kg/planting hole; K2 = 5 kg / planting hole; K3 = 7.5 kg / planting hole) and the second factor was drip irrigation volume (A1 = 800 ml; A2 = 1 500 ml). The results showed that giving cow manure and water irrigatian has no significant effect  on melon plant height, stem diameter and number of leaves, but the treatment  7.5 kg of  cow manure and 1 500 ml water gave results that tended to be better.

Abstract

Abstrak: Sampah organik khususnya eceng gondok sering menimbulkan masalah di antaranya dapat menyumbat saluran irigasi sehingga menyebabkan banjir saat volume air meningkat. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, diperlukan inovasi melalui pemanfaatan eceng gondok sebagai media tanam dalam sistem vertikultur untuk budidaya tanaman sayuran di halaman rumah warga. Tujuan dari program ini adalah untuk menambah wawasan dan memperkuat pemahaman kelompok Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) dan Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Desa Pajaten dalam memanfaatkan sampah organik sebagai media tanam dalam sistem vertikultur untuk budidaya tanaman sayuran. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode sosialisasi dan praktik kepada kelompok Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) dan Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Desa Pajaten sebanyak 20 orang. Evaluasi dilaksanakan dengan cara peserta mengisi angket (post test) untuk menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta. Hasil pengabdian juga menunjukkan bahwa dalam 20 orang peserta adanya peningkatan sebesar 85% terkait pemanfaatan eceng gondok. Program ini berpotensi menjadi langkah awal bagi pemerintah desa untuk mengatasi permasalahan sampah sekaligus mendukung kemandirian pangan masyarakat.Abstract: Organic waste, especially water hyacinth, often causes problems, including clogging irrigation channels, causing flooding when water volume increases. To overcome these problems, innovation is needed through the utilization of water hyacinth as a planting medium in a verticulture system for the cultivation of vegetable plants in the yard of residents. The purpose of this program is to increase insight and strengthen the understanding of the Family Empowerment and Welfare (PKK) and Women Farmers Group (KWT) of Pajaten Village in utilizing organic waste as a planting medium in a verticulture system for vegetable cultivation. The method used was socialization and practice to the Empowerment and Family Welfare (PKK) and Women Farmers Group (KWT) of Pajaten Village as many as 20 people. Evaluation was carried out by means of participants filling out a questionnaire (post test) to show the increase in participants' understanding. The results of the service also showed that in 20 participants there was an increase of 85.45% related to the utilization of water hyacinth. This program has the potential to be the first step for the village government to overcome waste problems while supporting community food independence.

Abstract

Rendahnya produksi tanaman lada putih di Bangka Belitung disebabkan oleh degradasi lahan akibat aktivitas penambangan timah. Perbanyakan lada melalui setek merupakan solusi untuk mengatasi ketersediaan bibit secara cepat mendukung peningkatan produksi tanaman lada. Keberhasilan setek ditentukan oleh kemampuan pembentukan akar dan tunas yang dapat dioptimalkan melalui aplikasi zat pengatur tumbuh (ZPT) dan pemupukan NPK yang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi jenis zat pengatur tumbuh (ZPT) dan dosis pupuk NPK terhadap pertumbuhan bibit lada (Piper nigrum L.) varietas Nyelungkup. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Penangkaran Bibit Desa Pusuk, Kecamatan Kelapa, Kabupaten Bangka Barat. Rancangan lingkungan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial (RAKF). Faktor pertama adalah jenis ZPT yaitu ZPT alami (air kelapa 25%) dan ZPT sintetik (Rootone F 0.5 g). Faktor kedua adalah dosis pupuk NPK mulai dari 0, 5, 10 hingga 20 g/polybag. Data hasil pengamatan di uji Anova dan uji rerata DMRT pada taraf 95%. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa jenis ZPT berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan bibit lada. ZPT sintetik memberikan hasil terbaik pada diameter batang, sedangkan ZPT alami optimal untuk luas daun. Pupuk NPK dengan dosis 20 g/polybag memberikan hasil terbaik pada seluruh parameter pertumbuhan yaitu waktu muncul tunas, panjang tunas, jumlah daun, diameter tunas, luas daun, dan panjang akar. Kombinasi ZPT sintetik dengan pupuk NPK 20 g/polybag menghasilkan interaksi terbaik untuk waktu muncul tunas, panjang tunas, dan diameter tunas.
