Abstract

The large number of smokers in Indonesia needs coordinated and integrated action to address, especially since the number of smokers among students continues to rise. One of the measures to address this issue is the no smoking area policy, including at school. However, no smoking area policy objectives must be supported by optimum policy execution. This study aims to determine the implementation of the Non-Smoking Area Policy at Pramita High School Tangerang City. This study uses qualitative research by conducting in-depth interviews. The principal, students, and counseling teachers are the three primary informants. Teachers and administrative personnel serve as the two supporting informants. The Content Analysis approach was used to analyze the data. Non-Smoking Areas Policy has yet to be implemented optimally at SMA Pramita Tangerang City. The school needs more resources and has yet to constitute a working group to enforce a smoke-free zone and consequences for breaches. There have also been no reporting systems for breaches of this policy, making it impossible to determine the number of violations and the level of compliance of school residents with this policy of no-smoking areas. A school must strengthen the implementation of No Smoking Areas by conducting socialization, developing a dedicated team, providing supporting facilities and infrastructure and imposing strict punishments on violators of the restrictions.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate human resource (HR) management strategies in enhancing nurse performance at the Muhammadiyah University of Cirebon General Hospital (RSU UMC). A qualitative research approach was employed, utilizing case study and phenomenological methods through in-depth interviews, observations, documentation reviews, and questionnaires. The findings reveal that HR strategies such as selective recruitment, continuous training, and performance evaluation have been implemented and have shown a positive impact on nursing competence and service delivery. However, several challenges remain that hinder the full effectiveness of these strategies. These include high workload pressures, training content that is not entirely relevant to daily practice, performance evaluations that focus mainly on quantitative measures, and an incentive system perceived as inequitable. Furthermore, poor interprofessional communication and uneven distribution of tasks further reduce job satisfaction and motivation among nurses, ultimately affecting the quality of patient care. These limitations indicate that the current HR strategy needs to be improved and made more responsive to the real needs faced in the field. Based on the results, this study recommends the development of a more integrated HR strategy that emphasizes needs-based and adaptive training, a comprehensive and balanced performance evaluation framework, and a fair reward system that values service quality over quantity. Such improvements are essential to foster a supportive and motivating work environment, leading to increased nurse performance, higher job satisfaction, and improved patient satisfaction. This research contributes valuable insights for hospital management in designing effective HR strategies in healthcare settings.

Abstract

The menstrual cycle is the time between the beginning of menstruation in the previous period and the onset of the next period. One of the factors that affect the menstrual cycle is nutritional intake and nutritional status. This study aims to determine the importance of nutritional intake and nutritional status on the menstrual cycle in adolescents. This article uses a selection method based on the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) diagram, in accordance with the inclusion criteria and predetermined keywords, and identified 10 articles to be analyzed. Based on the 10 articles analyzed, it was found that most show the importance of nutritional intake and nutritional status in affecting the regularity of the menstrual cycle. Several articles also demonstrate a relationship between both micro and macro nutritional intake and nutritional status on the menstrual cycle in adolescent girls. Nutritional intake and nutritional status play an important role in the regularity of adolescent menstrual cycles. These findings have important implications for public health policy, suggesting the need for comprehensive nutritional education programs targeting adolescent girls, healthcare providers, and educators. The evidence supports the development of school-based nutrition interventions and clinical guidelines for managing menstrual irregularities through nutritional approaches. Moreover, there is a clear relationship between nutritional intake and nutritional status and the menstrual cycle.
