Abstract

Rhodamine B is a synthetic dye used as a textile dye. It is prohibited as a Food Additive because it can irritate the digestive tract, poison, and even cause cancer and death. The research was to see if there were any Rhodamine B deposits of cotton candy in Makassar. This test used five samples. The methods used in testing are TLC and spectrophotometry UV-Vis. All five samples' test results show no stain was formed (negative). UV-Vis spectrophotometry test on a 553 nm length acquired data of Rhodamine B levels in a row as follows: first sample of cotton candy = 0.005%, sample 2 of cotton candy = 0.001%, sample 3 of cotton candy = 0.0008%, sample 4 of cotton candy = 0.003%, and sample 5 of cotton candy = 0.0009%. They concluded that all five samples identified contained Rhodamine B synthesized dye to a minimal degree of the cotton candy sample distributed in Makassar.

Abstract

Tamarind leaves are plants that contain flavonoids that act as antioxidants. In the extract of Tamarind Leaves (Tamarindus Indica L), there are active compounds in the form of flavonoids, tannins, and saponins. The content in tamarind leaves can provide benefits, especially for health. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of the ethyl acetate fraction of tamarind leaves. The sample was used in the form of ethyl acetate fraction from tamarind leaf extract where the antioxidant analysis method used is the DPPH (1.1 Diphenyl-2-Pikrylhydrazil) reduction method which functions as a free radical compound. The antioxidant activity of the ethyl acetate fraction of tamarind leaves (Tamarindus Indica L) was measured using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 516 nm with various concentrations of 20,30,40,50, and 60 ppm. The comparison used is quercetin. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the ethyl acetate fraction of tamarind leaves (Tamarindus Indica L) has strong antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 20.05 g/mL as the standard for strong antioxidant activity is in the range of 10-50 g/mL.

Abstract

The most essentials factor underlying water management are the characteristics of plants to water requirements, the amount of water given, the irrigation methods, and the characteristics of the soil in storing water. The research purpose is to identify and determine the best irrigation method, which can increase the growth and production of soybean plants. Knowing the best method of giving water/irrigation that is able to maintain soil moisture for soybean plants. The experiment used a randomized block design consisting of four treatments, namely: A0 = Control, A1 = Sprinkle Method, A2 = furrow method, and A3 = Flood method. Each treatment was repeated three times. The data were analyzed statistically and if there was a significant effect, it would be continued with an test of honestly significant difference. The results showed that the Flood method gave the best effect on almost all parameters of growth and production observations and the highest yield for production per hectare was 4.32 tons.

Abstract

Di awal tahun 2020, dunia digemparkan dengan adanya wabah virus Corona yang ditetapkan oleh WHO sebagai pandemik global. Virus ini menular dengan cepat dan telah menyebar ke beberapa negara, termasuk Indonesia. Sampai saat ini, belum ada vaksin untuk mencegah infeksi virus corona. Oleh sebab itu, cara pencegahan yang terbaik adalah menghindari faktor-faktor yang bisa menyebabkan kita terinfeksi virus tersebut. Salah satu pencegahannya adalah rajin mencuci tangan dengan air dan sabun atau menggunakan hand sanitizer. Sejak mewabahnya virus ini, penggunaan dan permintaan masyarakat Indonesia khususnya di Sulawesi Selatan terhadap sediaan hand sanitizer melonjak dan akhirnya langka dipasaran. Program ini bertujuan sebagai upaya preventif melalui pemanfaatan buah jeruk nipis dan lidah buaya yang ada sekitar masyarakat mitra dalam pembuatan handsanitizer. Masyarakat mitra PKM adalah ibu-ibu PKK desa Kamiri Kec. Balusu kab. Barru Sulawesi Selatan. Metode pelaksanaan program ini adalah metode ceramah atau peyuluhan dan pelatihan pembuatan handsatizer. Kegiataan PKM ini memberikan dampak positif yaitu menambah pengetahuan masyarakat desa Kamiri tentang penggunaan hand sanitizer dan memberikan keterampilan untuk membuat sendiri sediaan hand sanitizer dengan memanfaatkan bahan alam yang ada disekitar masyarakat

Abstract

Daun tanaman porang (Amorphophallus muelleri Blume) memiliki potensi sebagai antioksidan karena mengandung senyawa flavonoid yang mampu menangkal radikal bebas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasi serta mengevaluasi sediaan lotion dari ekstrak daun porang yang stabil secara farmaseutik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental yaitu ekstrak kental daun tanaman porang yang diperoleh dengan mengekstraksi daun porang dengan maserasi. Formulasi lotion dibuat dengan memvariasikan asam stearat dengan konsentrasi 10%, 11% dan 12,5% serta trietanolamin dengan konsentrasi 2%, 3% dan 4%. Evaluasi sediaan meliputi uji organoleptik, homogenitas, tipe emulsi, pH, daya sebar, daya lekat, viskositas, tipe aliran, serta kestabilan fisik selama 10 hari penyimpanan. Hasil evaluasi yang telah dilakukan sebelum dan setelah kondisi dipaksakan menunjukkan uji organoleptik tidak terdapat perubahan warna, bentuk dan bau. Uji homogenitas menunjukkan ketiga formula homogen. Uji tipe emulsi menunjukkan ketiga formula merupakan emulsi minyak dalam air. Uji pH berkisar antara 7,2-7,69. Uji daya sebar ketiga formula berkisar antara 5,03-6,36. Uji daya lekat pada formula 2 dan formula berkisar antara 4-5 detik sedangkan formula 1 tidak memenuhi kriteria karena lebih dari 4 detik. Uji viskositas berkisar antara 9200-31806,67 cps. Uji tipe aliran menunjukkan aliran thiksotropik-plastis. Semua sediaan lotion yang telah diujikan memenuhi kriteria, kecuali pada pengujian daya lekat terdapat formula 1 sehingga ekstrak daun porang dapat dibuat menjadi sediaan lotion yang stabil secara farmaseutik.
