Abstract

The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is a territorial dispute between Armenia and Azerbaijan in 2020 that attracted the attention of international actors, especially Turkey and Russia. In times of peace of conflict, Turkey entered into an agreement with Russia to carry out the construction of the Turkish-Russian Joint Center. The purpose of this study is to find out the factors that are the reasons for Turkey to make an agreement with Russia in establishing a Joint Turkish-Russian Center. Using qualitative descriptive research methods with data and information collection techniques in accordance with references from books, journals, and articles on the web. The theory used is the decision-making theory initiated by Richard Snyder, H.W. Bruck, and Burton Sapin, that "the actions of a country are foreign policies that are influenced by internal and external conditions". The first is Turkey's dependence on Russia in nuclear projects and agreements on the purchase of military equipment, while in the external sphere there is a great influence of Russia's geopolitics in the Caucasus region as well as in the conflict.

Abstract

The Indo-Pacific region, as the fastest-growing and economically significant area in the world, is increasingly becoming a focal point of geopolitical tensions, particularly with the emergence of the AUKUS alliance. The introduction of nuclear-powered submarines by Australia under AUKUS presents a profound threat to the stability and security of the Indo-Pacific, challenging existing treaties like the Southeast Asia Nuclear Weapon Free Zone (SEANWFZ) and potentially igniting an arms race. Understanding these dynamics is critical for shaping policies that can mitigate the risks of escalating military conflicts and ensure regional stability. The primary objective of this study is to critically analyze the security implications of the AUKUS alliance on the Indo-Pacific region, with a particular focus on how the introduction of nuclear-powered submarines by Australia could undermine regional treaties and provoke an arms race. This study employs a qualitative research approach, specifically using the method of a literature review. The data sources for this study consist of secondary data, including academic journal articles, books, governmental and non-governmental reports, and policy briefs. Data collection was conducted by systematically searching for relevant literature using keywords such as "AUKUS," "Indo-Pacific security," "military alliances," and "geopolitical threats." The literature was then reviewed and categorized based on its thematic relevance to the study. For data analysis, a thematic analysis method was used to identify and interpret patterns within the literature. The research results show: the impact of defense spending in the Indo-Pacific can be influenced by changes in regional dynamics caused by the AUKUS agreement. Countries can change their defense budgets based on their assessment of security threats in the region and changes in the balance of power. Countries can provide funding to enhance their cybersecurity capabilities, which could include investing in cyber defense measures to protect critical military infrastructure and networks. Investments in capital and technology and equipment are part of defense expenditure. CAUCUS can enhance economic cooperation and integration between participating countries and open new opportunities for trade, investment, and technology transfer in the Indo-Pacific region. This could impact the economic landscape resulting from defense partnerships.

Abstract

The United States' threat to Saudi Arabia following the 2022 decision by OPEC+ to cut crude oil production by two million barrels per day reveals the complex interplay between domestic political pressures and international energy geopolitics. This study aims to analyze the underlying internal and external factors influencing the U.S. response, using the Internal-External Setting theory developed by Snyder, Bruck, and Sapin. Employing a qualitative policy analysis approach, the research utilizes data from peer-reviewed journals, official government reports, and credible media coverage to examine U.S. foreign policy behavior. The findings show that internal factors—such as public opinion, inflationary pressures, the upcoming midterm elections, and media framing—played a critical role in shaping Washington's confrontational stance. Simultaneously, external dynamics, including Saudi Arabia’s leadership within OPEC+, post-pandemic energy market volatility, and shifting global power relations, further escalated diplomatic tensions. The study reveals how domestic political needs intersect with international strategic interests in driving foreign policy decisions. By applying the Internal-External Setting theory, this research highlights the interdependence of domestic and global considerations in modern energy diplomacy. The implications are significant for understanding U.S. geopolitical behavior in an era of energy insecurity and shifting alliances. This study contributes to the broader discourse on global energy governance, international economic stability, and the evolving nature of U.S.-Middle East relations.

Abstract

Russia's invasion of Ukraine occurred on February 24, 2022, followed by an information war that occurred on social media. Ukraine, which is inferior in terms of the number of weapons compared to Russia, certainly took advantage of this momentum to win the information war circulating on social media. Therefore, the narrative, in the form of persuasion or pressure, was carried out by official accounts from the Ukrainian government and officials to put pressure on several parties. Twitter is used to win the information war and get support from all parties. There are three Ukrainian targets: foreign governments, foreign companies, and the public. Of course, this is Ukraine's move to be able to attack Russia, especially on the economic front. This study uses qualitative research methods and secondary data. The theory used in this research is international political communication theory

Abstract

This study examined the status of posyandu and described the ownership of health services in the working area of the Sukoharjo District Health Office during 2017–2021. This descriptive study used secondary data reported by 12 puskesmas to the Sukoharjo District Health Office, including posyandu data and health service ownership. Data were analyzed descriptively and presented in graphs. Sukoharjo Regency consists of 12 sub-districts, each served by one puskesmas. Sociodemographic data show that the population decreased from 899,550 people in 2017 to 891,923 people in 2018, a decline of approximately 0.9 percent. The analysis of posyandu status indicated fluctuating trends over the 2017–2021 period, with an increase in 2018 and a decrease in 2020 in the working areas of Bulu and Grogol puskesmas. In contrast, in the other 10 puskesmas, there was no increase in the number of posyandu throughout the study period.
