Abstract

Tiohu craft (Fimbristylis globulosa) in Gorontalo has the opportunity to be developed into a creative industry, but in fact the craft just can survive without having significant development. The lack of development on the craft is assumed due to a problem hindering, while its survivability up to now is expected due to the potential that support it. This study aims to analyze the potential and problems in the development of tiohu crafts in Gorontalo. This study employs a qualitative research method with a case study model. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and literature review. Data were analyzed interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusions. The results showed that the Gorontalo tiohu craft has the potential to be developed but there are problems that hindering. These potentials and problems are revealed from the basic aspects of the craft, namely: the condition of craftspeople, production technology, product form and function, and distribution or marketing. These aspects are interrelated and have a direct influence on the sustainability and direction of its development, therefore it can be used as a basis in formulating strategies on developing Gorontalo tiohu craft in the future or other similar crafts

Abstract

This study aims to clarify the influence of various factors on the development of traditional textiles, by examining the case of the development of traditional karawo textiles in Gorontalo Province, Indonesia from 1970 to 2020. This study employs a qualitative research method with a historical approach. Data were collected through historical documents, observation, interviews, and a literature review. Data were analyzed interactively with continuous comparisons during and after data collection. The results showed that the development of traditional karawo textiles from 1970 to 2020 can be further divided into three distinct periods: 1970–2000, 2000–2010, and 2010–2020. During each period, karawo textiles were influenced by various factors, both internal and external. The most influential internal factors were the emergence of craftspeople and designers as production bases and continuous innovation. The most influential external factors were the actions of government and commercial institutions. Government policies encouraged individuals and non-governmental organizations to contribute to the development of karawo textiles. Commercial institution influent the distribution and marketing of karawo textile products.  The study also describes the types of factors and their impacts. The study concludes that to ensure the sustainable development of traditional textiles, therefore those internal and external factors must consistently contribute from time to time.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang media pembelajaran seni rupa berbasis multimedia interaktif bagi siswa Sekolah Luar Biasa Negeri (SLBN) Kota Gorontalo. Penelitian metode Research and Development (RD). Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, eksperimen, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif melalui: reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa proses perancangan media pembelajaran seni rupa dilakukan melalui empat tahap yaitu: 1) analisis kebutuhan yaitu untuk memperoleh informasi tentang pentingnya media pembelajaran multimedia interaktif bagi siswa SLBN Kota Gorontalo dan informasi terkait materi-materi yang dibutuhkan siswa tunantera, tunarungu dan tunadaksa; 2) seleksi materi yaitu memilih materi-materi yang dibutuhkan untuk ditampilkan pada media pembelajaran multimedia interaktif, seperti: jenis font, warna, gambar, audio, dan video; 3) perancangan yaitu menyusun atau merancang materi yang sudah diseleksi sesuai kebutuhan melalui proses: a) menyusun lay out untuk tampilan visual desain media pembelajaran multimedia interaktif; b) merancang produk yaitu menyusun tampilan akhir dengan menggunakan aplikasi Articulate storyline 3, Photoshop CS5, Audacity; 4) evaluasi yaitu menguji media pembelajaran multimedia interaktif yang berhasil dirancang pada guru dan siswa SLBN Kota Gorontalo untuk mengetahui keefektifan penggunaanya dalam pembelajaran seni rupa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran seni rupa berbasis multimedia interaktif yang berhasil dirancang telah sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa SLBN Kota Gorontalo, baik untuk siswa tunanetra, siswa tunarungu, maupun siswa tunadaksa. Oleh karena itu, disarankan kepada guru di SLBN Kota Gorontalo untuk menggunakan media tersebut dalam pembelajaran seni rupa, guna mencapai hasil pembelajaran yang lebih maksimal. Kata Kunci : Media pembelajaran, Seni Rupa, Multimedia Interaktif, Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan inovasi pada produk kerajinan anyaman mendong dan mendeskripsikan kualitas yang dihasilkan dari penerapan teknik ecoprint untuk produk kerajinan anyaman mendong pada kelompok pengrajin di Desa Bolotangi Timur Kabupaten Bone Bolango Gorontalo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui, eksperimen, observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui, reduksi data, penyajian data serta pembahasan, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, bahwa inovasi pada produk kerajinan anyaman mendong dengan penerapan teknik ecoprint melalui proses mordanting tawas, mordanting kapur, dan tanpa mordanting, yang dilakukan dengan cara yang sama, ternyata menghasilkan kekuatan warna yang berbeda-beda. Mordanting tawas menghasilkan warna muda yang tampak cerah pada anyaman mendong. Mordanting kapur menghasilkan warna tua yang tampak lebih gelap pada anyaman mendong. Tanpa mordanting menghasilkan warna pudar yang tampak samar pada anyaman mendong. Masing-masing warna yang dihasilkan memiliki keunggulan dan kelemahan. Keunggulan mordanting tawas adalah warna alami anyaman tidak berubah, tetapi warna ecoprint yang dihasilkan agak pudar. Keunggulan mordanting kapur adalah warna yang dihasilkan tampak kuat dan menonjol tetapi warna anyaman mendong berubah dari warna alaminya. Keunggulan tanpa mordanting adalah warna dan kerapatan anyaman tidak berubah, tetapi warna ecoprint yang dihasilkan sangat pudar. Disimpulkan bahwa inovasi warna pada kerajinan anyaman mendong dapat dilakukan dengan teknik ecoprint, melalui mordanting tawas, mordanting kapur, dan tanpa mordanting, sesuai dengan intensitas atau kekuatan warna yang diinginkan. Kata Kunci: Inovasi, Kerajinan, Anyaman, Mendong, Ecoprint.

Abstract

This paper aims to explain the quality of education services in schools referring to the principles of school governance. Using qualitative methods with secondary data, because it comes from literature data sources. The Milles&Huberman model interactively analyzed with data reduction steps, data display and conclusion drawing. The final result is known that; 1) the phenomenon at SMPN Lembang, transparency and accountability are not optimal because they are only delivered through ceremonies, not yet accompanied by access for parents and students to obtain information about the implementation of school governance; 2) there is a gap in facilities and infrastructure between MI Darul Ulum Bima, SDN 29 Jambi, SMA YASPORBI Jakarta which have an effect on differences in the efficiency of school management and have an impact on the quality of education; 3) a phenomenon in one of the Kab. Sambas who did not prepare information about the school's passive assets, so that it has the potential to be dysfunctional; 4) a phenomenon that occurs in 3 SMA and 3 SMK in DI Yogyakarta that have implemented a SIM and feel the benefits in the form of increasing access to information with speed and accuracy for the effectiveness of academic services.

Abstract

Seni kerajinan eceng gondok Gorontalo berpeluang besar untuk dikembangkan, tetapi upayaupayapengembangannya kurang berhasil maksimal karena dilakukan secara spekulatif tanpadidasari karakteristiknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan merumuskan konsep pengembangan senikerajinan eceng gondok Gorontalo berdasarkan karakteristiknya. Penelitian menggunakanmetode kualitatif model studi kasus dengan grounded theory. Data dikumpulkan melaluiwawancara, observasi, pengujian, dan studi pustaka. Data dianalisis secara interaktif melalui:seleksi dan pengkodean, kategorisasi data, display data serta pembahasan, dan penarikankesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan, bahwa konsep pengembangan seni kerajinan ecenggondok Gorontalo berdasarkan karakteristiknya dilakukan melalui diversifikasi dan inovasiteknologi produksi, produk, dan distribusi, sesuai kemajuan teknologi dan dinamika pasar.Daya prediksi konsep tersebut dirumuskan dalam bentuk pernyataan kausal dan peluangpenerapannya disajikan dalam bentuk langkah-langkah kerja sistematis. Konsep pengembangantersebut dapat digunakan sebagai penuntun dalam pengembangan seni kerajinan eceng gondokGorontalo di masa depan atau seni kerajinan lainnya yang sejenis.Kata Kunci: Kerajinan Eceng Gondok, Karakteristik, Konsep Pengembangan, Diversifikasi, Inovasi.

Abstract

Wood is one of Gorontalo's local natural resources needed for various uses. However, only a few of these types of wood are naturally high quality, while most are low quality and, therefore, need to be more utilized. This service activity aims to utilize these low-quality local wood in various souvenir products through collaboration with the local community as partners. Implementation of activities uses participatory methods in the form of practical training through the stages: socialization and knowledge provision, provision of tools and materials, production process training, and finishing process training. The results are increased knowledge and skills of partners in producing various souvenirs from low-quality local wood, success in providing adequate tools and raw materials (low-quality local wood) to support production performance, partners succeeded in producing ten types of souvenirs by applying various finishing patterns, according to the models offered with a similarity level of 90%. With these results, partners become more productive and able to produce regularly, and their business is believed to continue to develop sustainably. This way, various low-quality local wood types from Gorontalo can be utilized optimally.

Abstract

Souvenir merupakan salah satu elemen penting dalam mendukung eksistensi desa wisata guna meningkatkan daya tarik dan belanjaan wisatawan. Namun sebagian besar pengelola desa wisata belum mampu memproduksi souvenir yang unik dan bervariasi sesuai kebutuhan wisatawan, karena lemahnya keterampilan produksi yang dikuasai. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk melatih pengelola desa wisata sebagai mitra dalam meningkatkan keterampilan memproduksi beragam jenis souvenir yang unik sebagai komoditas desa wisata. Kegiatan pengabdian menerapkan metode partisipatif dalam bentuk pelatihan praktis (workshop) melalui tahap: sosialisasi dan pembekalan pengetahuan, penyediaan alat dan bahan, pelatihan proses produksi souvenir, penerapan finishing, dan pembuatan kemasan. Adapun hasil yang dicapai adalah: 1) meningkatnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra dalam memproduksi beragam jenis souvenir yang unik; 2) tersedianya alat dan bahan yang memadai untuk memproduksi beragam bentuk souvenir; 3) mitra berhasil memproduksi 10 model souvenir dengan menerapkan beragam corak finishing dan disajikan dalam kemasan yang bervariasi. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, model-model souvenir tersebut telah sesuai dengan contoh yang ditawarkan dengan tingkat kemiripan 80% dan memiliki prospek pasar yang menjanjikan. Souvenir-souvenir tersebut dianggap layak untuk diproduksi secara massal atau dalam jumlah tertentu guna memenuhi kebutuhan pasar (wisatawan). Dengan demikian, diyakini mitra mampu mengembangkan usaha di bidang souvenir dengan memproduksi beragam jenis produk souvenir secara rutin, yang berkontribusi dalam mendukung eksistensi desa wisata yang dikelolanya secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Learning media is an important instrument that needs to be developed to improve students' understanding of the subject matter, but not all teachers are able to develop learning media according to the subject matter. This study aims to develop audio-visual learning media to improve students' understanding of the material on drawing flora and fauna. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the 4D model: define, design, development, and dissemination. Data were collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and assessment sheets for material validation, media feasibility, and media effectiveness. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively and quantitatively. The results show that the development of audio-visual learning media for drawing flora and fauna material can be done through four stages: 1) definition, namely conducting historical analysis, facilities and infrastructure, resources and curriculum; 2) design, namely compiling learning materials, editing process for learning media and dubbing; 3) development, namely realizing videos into audio-visual learning media, with a material validation score of 98.07% (very valid), a feasibility score of 90.63% (very feasible), and an effectiveness score of 89.19% (very effective); 4) distribution by providing the media to schools for learning to draw flora and fauna. It is concluded that the developed audio-visual learning media can be used effectively in learning to draw flora and fauna in Junior High Schools.
