Abstract

This study aims to determine the creative thinking abilities students of SMPIT Raflesia in class VIII in solving problems based on higher order thinking skills. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method with a case study approach. The results of this study indicate that overall creative thinking skills in solving HOTS-based questions at SMPIT Raflesia are still very low. Students with high categories can achieve 4 indicators of creative thinking namely: fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration. Students in the low category can achieve 3 indicators of creative thinking namely: fluency, originality and elaboration. Meanwhile, students with low category levels can achieve one indicator of creative thinking namely: fluency. Relatively, the creative thinking ability of students is still low with an average percentage of 39% for all indicators.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa pada materi garis dan sudut pada siswa kelas VII.1 MTs Muhammadiyah Ciasmara. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya rata-rata nilai ujian penilaian tengah semester (PTS). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII.1 MTs Muhammadiyah Ciasmara tahun ajaran 2021-2022, yang berjumlah 30 siswa yang terdiri dari 11 siswa laki-laki dan 19 siswa perempuan. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut : tes ujian sebelum diadakan tindakan nilai rata-rata 66.30% dengan persentase pencapaian KKM adalah 40.00% dan yang belum mencapai KKM 60.00%, setelah diadakan tindakan pada siklus I hasil tes mencapai nilai rata-rata mencapai 74.64% dengan persentase pencapaian KKM adalah 73.33% dan yang belum mencapai KKM 26.67% serta rata-rata persentase pemahaman konsep adalah 75.85% (kategori tinggi), sedangkan pada siklus II nilai rata-rata mencapai 87.02% dengan persentase pencapaian KKM adalah 86.67% dan yang belum mencapai KKM 13.33% serta rata-rata persentase pemahaman konsep adalah 86.92% (kategori sangat tinggi). Sehingga dapat disimpulkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas VII.1 MTs Muhammadiyah Ciasmara. Kata Kunci: Model pembelajaran STAD, PTK, Pemahaman Konsep Matematika. Abstract. This classroom action research aims to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts on line and angle material in class VII.1 MTs Muhammadiyah Ciasmara. This research is motivated by the low average score of the mid-semester assessment test (PTS). This research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects of this study were students of class VII.1 MTs Muhammadiyah Ciasmara for the academic year 2021-2022, totaling 30 students consisting of 11 male students and 19 female students. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded as follows: the test test before the action was held the average score was 66.30% with the percentage of KKM achievement being 40.00% and those who had not reached the KKM 60.00%, after the action was held in the first cycle the test results reached an average score of 74.64% with the percentage of achieving KKM is 73.33% and those who have not reached KKM 26.67% and the average percentage of understanding of concepts is 75.85% (high category), while in the second cycle the average value reaches 87.02% with the percentage of KKM achievement is 86.67% and who have not reached the KKM 13.33% and the average percentage of concept understanding is 86.92% (very high category). So it can be concluded that the STAD type cooperative learning model can improve the understanding of mathematical concepts of class VII.1 MTs Muhammadiyah Ciasmara students. Abstract

Studi ini ialah studi eksperimen semu yang memiliki tujuan guna melihat adanya dampak model GDL pada kapasitas pemecahan masalah matematika siswa SMA. Studi ini memiliki populasi sebanyak 532 siswa pada tingkat XI di SMA N 20 Jakarta tahun ajaran 2021/2022 yang mencakup lima kelas. Sampel studi ditentukan dengan menerapkan teknik purposive sampling, terpilih kelas XI IPA 1 yang menjadi kelas eksperimen serta kelas XI IPA 2 yang menjadi kelas kontrol dengan jumlah 30 siswa pada setiap kelas. Studi ini mengaplikasikan nonequivalent control group design. Data didapat dari temuan pretest serta posttest kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika sehingga menghasilkan data kuantitatif. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji paired sample t test serta uji independent sample t test SPSS statistic mengikuti uji analisis prasyarat yang terdiri atas uji normalitas, homogenitas, serta hipotesis. Berlandaskan temuan studi, diketahui bahwa model GDL dapat diterapkan dengan benar dan berhasil pada waktu yang tepat, kapasitas pemecahan masalah di kelas dengan penerapan model GDL (kelas eksperimen) lebih unggul daripada kelas kontrol, juga penerapan model GDL memiliki dampak yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan siswa SMA untuk memecahkan permasalahan matematika.

Abstract

Pembelajaran yang dilakukan di perguruan tinggi menuntut mahasiswa memiliki kemampuan mengatur serta mengendalikan proses belajar secara mandiri. Telah banyak studi terkait self-regulated learning mendapatkan perhatian yang signifikan karena potensinya dalam mempengaruhi prestasi akademik mahasiswa, namun belum banyak penelitian yang memfokuskan self-regulated learning pada tingkat akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan self-regulated learning mahasiswa pendidikan matematika Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof DR HAMKA berdasarkan tingkat akademik. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 71 mahasiswa yang terdiri dari berbagai tingkatan akademik. Self-regulated learning diukur menggunakan kuesioner dengan indikator personal function, behaviour function, dan environment function. Temuan penelitian yang didapat yaitu tidak terdapat perbedaan self-regulated learning mahasiswa pendidikan matematika berdasarkan tingkatan akademik. Berdasarkan hasil temuan ini menunjukan bahwa tingkat akademik tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap self-regulated learning pada mahasiswa pendidikan matematika. Kata kunci: Self-regulated learning, Tingkat Akademik, Mahasiswa Pendidikan matematika Abstract: Learning conducted in higher education requires students to have the ability to organize and control the learning process independently. The concept that refers to a person's ability to organize, supervise, and control learning strategies for effective learning is called self-regulated learning. Many studies related to self-regulated learning have received significant attention because of its potential to affect student academic achievement, but not many studies have focused on self-regulated learning at the academic level. This study aims to determine the differences in self-regulated learning of mathematics education students at Prof DR HAMKA Muhammadiyah University based on academic level. The research sample consisted of 71 students from various academic levels. Self-regulated learning was measured using a questionnaire with indicators of personal function, behavior function, and environment function. The research findings obtained are that there are no differences in self-regulated learning of mathematics education students based on academic level.  Based on these findings, it shows that academic level does not influence self-regulated learning in mathematics education students. Keywords: Self-regulated learning, Academic Level, Mathematics Education Students

Abstract

Algebraic reasoning skills are important for students to master, with algebraic reasoning students are able to solve everyday problems in algebraic form. Gender is one of the factors that differentiates students' reasoning abilities in solving math problems. This study aims to describe algebraic reasoning in terms of gender differences. This type of research is qualitative with research subjects of four students taken from 31 students, Middle School class VIII by selecting two female students and two male students based on the average score level of each gender in solving System of linear equations of two variables questions based on indicator of algebraic reasoning ability. Data collection techniques in this study were tests, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the algebraic reasoning of female subjects is higher than that of male subjects. Some of the factors for the low algebraic reasoning of the subject include: the subject is not careful and forgets the formulas that have been taught.

Abstract

This research aims to determine whether there is a significant relationship between self-efficacy and mathematical problem solving abilities, as well as between learning motivation and mathematical problem solving abilities. Apart from that, this research also aims to find out whether there is a significant relationship between self-efficacy and learning motivation together with the mathematical problem solving abilities of class X students at SMAN 1 Tajurhalang on SPLTV material. This research uses a quantitative approach with correlational methods. The population in this study included all 360 class X students, with a sample of 199 students from six classes. Data collection was carried out through tests to measure mathematical problem solving abilities on SPLTV material, as well as questionnaires that measured students' levels of self-efficacy and learning motivation. The results of the analysis using the Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple correlation show that there is a significant relationship between self-efficacy and mathematical problem solving ability, with a value of r = 0.202 which is classified as a low relationship. Meanwhile, the relationship between learning motivation and mathematical problem solving ability obtained a value of r = 0.194, which is in the very low category. Further analysis also shows that together, self-efficacy and learning motivation have a significant relationship with mathematical problem solving abilities, with a value of r = 0.211 which is in the low relationship strength category.

Abstract

Social connection requires each individual to have a strong understanding of the environment. Concept understanding can be improved through software. The goal of this research is to predict the effect of mathematics learning using Cabri 3D software. The dependent variable is the mathematics concept of understanding ability. The independent variable is the dummy variable that determines the type of the class. The value of the dummy variable for the class that applied the Problem-based Learning (PBL) assisted by Cabri 3D is 1 and the value of the dummy variable for class without Cabri 3D is 0.  Students' mathematics ability was measured by a percentage or probability. The values of the mathematical concept understanding obtained by students were converted into probability values. After the data has been collected, probit regression analysis was used to see the probability of success of mathematical concepts understanding of those who were taught using PBL and those who were taught without using PBL without Cabri 3D. The results of data analysis showed that the types of classes significantly affect the mathematical concept of understanding ability. Thus, it can be concluded that learning with Cabri 3D can improve the mathematical concept of understanding ability.

Abstract

Computational thinking ability is the ability to solve complex problems with algorithmic solutions based on computational aspects. Self efficacy is a belief in one's own abilities. The subjects in this study are class VIII-H students at SMPN 226 Jakarta as many as 34 students who will then be selected 3 students based on the categorization of self efficacy questionnaire (high, medium, and low) to be interviewed. A qualitative approach with a descriptive form was used with the aim of describing the ability of mathematical computational thinking in terms of self efficacy in class VIII students at SMPN 226 Jakarta. Data were collected from questionnaires, written description tests, and interview guidelines, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students in the high self efficacy category met four indicators, namely, decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithmic thinking. Students with moderate self efficacy fulfill three indicators, namely, decomposition, pattern recognition, and abstraction. Meanwhile, students with low self efficacy fulfill two indicators namely, decomposition, and pattern recognition. In addition, the results of this study indicate that the better the self efficacy in students, the better the mathematical computational thinking ability. Abstract

AbstractMathematical anxiety is an uncomfortable condition caused by irregular feelings and is usually shown by feeling anxious, worried, and afraid when studying mathematics. This study aims to identify students' mathematical anxiety levels in the learning loss phenomenon after the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is quantitative research with descriptive research methods. The sample of this research is 60 respondents. The subjects of this study were students at the junior high school level located in the Bekasi district. The results of this study indicate that mathematical anxiety in the learning loss phenomenon after the Covid-19 pandemic is in the moderate category with a percentage of 63.3% for class VII and 70% for class VIII. Students' mathematical anxiety on affective aspects which are in moderate indicators is fear and anxiety. Students' mathematical anxiety on the cognitive aspect which is in the moderate indicator is difficult to concentrate. Students' mathematical anxiety in the physiological aspects which are moderate indicators are fast heart palpitations and headaches. Abstrak Kecemasan matematis adalah kondisi tidak enak yang disebabkan oleh perasaan yang tidak beraturan dan biasanya ditujukan dengan rasa gelisah, khawatir, dan takut ketika sedang belajar matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tingkat kecemasan matematis peserta didik pada feomena learning loss pasca pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian deskriptif. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 60 responden. Subyek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik pada tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) yang berlokasi di kabupaten bekasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kecemasan matematis pada fenomena learning loss pasca pandemi covid-19 berada pada kategori sedang dengan persentase 63.3% untuk kelas VII dan 70% untuk kelas VIII. Kecemasan matematis peserta didik pada aspek afektif yang berada diindikator sedang adalah takut dan gelisah. Kecemasan matematis peserta didik pada aspek kognitif yang berada diindikator sedang adalah sulit konsentrasi. Kecemasan matematis peserta didik pada aspek fisiologis yang berada diindikator sedang adalah jantung berdebar kencang dan sakit kepala.

Abstract

Students’ creative mathematical thinking abilities are directly proportional to HOTS-based problems. The purpose of this research is to analyze students' mathematical creative thinking abilities in solving HOTS problems on circle material. The research subjects were 8th grade junior high school students consisting of 6 people at a school in Tangerang, using qualitative descriptive methods. Tests and interview methods were used to collect data. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The result of this research shows that subjects in the high category can fulfill 4 indicators, namely, originality, fluency, flexibility, and elaboration. Subjects in the medium category only fulfill 2 indicators, namely fluency and elaboration. Subjects in the low category cannot fulfill all indicators. These findings are very important for educators and are also expected to contribute to improve students' mathematical creative thinking abilities.
