Abstract

This study investigates the efficacy of the affordable NRF24L01 wireless communication module in half-duplex mode for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication. The prototype integrated the NRF24L01 module with an ESP32 microcontroller and an OLED display. The study assesses the delay and packet success rate to uncover the module's attributes under half-duplex situations. This not only surpasses the mere collecting of data, but also emphasizes the practical limitations and strengths of the module. The project aims to achieve two main objectives: firstly, to gather empirical data that may be used to make well-informed decisions in the design of NRF24L01 applications, and secondly, to contribute to the broader examination of wireless communications protocols. It improves comprehension of the impact of half-duplex operation on the performance of the NRF24L01 module. By revealing the mechanics of half-duplex communication, it enhances the efficiency of NRF24L01 usage and facilitates the development of a better protocol.

Abstract

The development of modern automotive technology emphasizes the importance of vehicle connectivity and autonomy, with the aim of enhancing safety and comfort. Due to its role in managing critical vehicle functions and its vulnerability to security threats, the automotive industry has developed two primary approaches to address CAN Bus security. Therefore, the automotive industry has developed two main approaches to address this security issue. First, passive defense through security protocols that include encryption, authentication, and message verification, and second, anomaly detection using advanced technologies. Several anomaly detection methods have been introduced, including K-Means clustering, Support Vector Machines, and Deep Learning, each offering advantages in detecting specific attack patterns. However, one increasingly popular approach is time analysis, which leverages message inter-arrival patterns and clock skew on the CAN Bus to identify suspicious behavior and detect anomalies in real-time. Although this method has shown effectiveness in detecting various types of attacks, the main challenge lies in its ability to identify highly concealed attacks that may not be visible to traditional methods. This research provides an understanding of various anomaly detection approaches on electric vehicle CAN Bus networks, with a primary focus on time analysis. By reviewing several approaches, this study offers valuable insights into improving the security of electric vehicles and the overall smart transportation ecosystem. The results show that time-based analysis methods can detect various types of attacks, such as spoofing, replay attacks, and denial-of-service, with high efficiency.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the acceptance and performance of users of the Virtual Class application in the Bali Melajah Portal using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA). This study found the main components of adoption, evaluated performance disparities, and suggested ways to improve LMS adoption in secondary schools. Methods: This study used a quantitative approach through an online survey conducted to collect data from teachers and students. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to evaluate the relationship between the variables in the research model. IPA was used to evaluate system performance and determine areas for improvement. Results: The study showed that perceived ease of use significantly influenced perceived usefulness, which in turn affected attitudes and behavioral intentions. Meanwhile, behavioral intentions positively affected actual system use. Performance mismatch was found, with the lowest percentage of conformity of 97.76% for actual system use. Quadrant analysis highlighted that, although the system was perceived as useful and easy to use, involvement, accessibility, and institutional support were necessary for effective system use. Novelty: This study offers a two-pronged assessment of LMS adoption in secondary schools by combining TAM and IPA. Unlike earlier studies that only evaluated user perceptions or system performance separately, this paper provides a complete approach to maximizing government-supported digital learning platforms. These findings give policymakers and application developers knowledge to improve the adoption of Virtual Classroom LMS.

Abstract

Public Street Lighting (PJU) is a crucial component of public infrastructure, but ineffective real-time maintenance often leads to slow damage detection, resulting in energy waste, high maintenance costs, and increased safety risks. Previous research has highlighted the importance of proactive monitoring systems based on the Internet of Things (IoT) for PJU energy efficiency. However, conventional Human-Machine Interface (HMI) solutions such as custom mobile applications are often expensive and inflexible. This research proposes the implementation of the Telegram API as a low-cost HMI for a real-time monitoring and damage notification system for PJU. This system integrates an ESP32 microcontroller with an LDR sensor, ultrasonic sensor, and PZEM-004T module for acquiring data on light intensity, traffic activity, and electricity consumption. The Telegram Bot is utilized to send monitoring data and damage notifications in real-time to operators without requiring additional applications or dedicated servers. The main innovation lies in using Telegram as the primary communication medium, which is fast, secure, and efficient. Test results show that the system successfully detects and notifies light conditions and monitors energy consumption accurately, with notifications received within 1-2 seconds as long as the internet connection is stable. This implementation proves that the Telegram API is a functional, responsive, secure, and cost-effective HMI solution for public infrastructure management, offering flexibility and ease of access across various platforms.

Abstract

The manual administration of the Co-Assistant (Coass) program at Dental and Oral Education Hospitals is often inefficient, prone to delays, and lacks transparency in data handling. To address these limitations, this study implemented a web-based information system developed using the Agile Scrum methodology. Development was carried out through five iterative sprints, totaling 106 story points, enabling the team to incrementally build and refine system features in alignment with stakeholder needs. The Scrum approach not only facilitated the completion of the product backlog but also proved instrumental in managing complex business logic and ensuring seamless inter-module integration. Key outcomes include enhanced efficiency in logbook recording, streamlined clinical assessment workflows, and improved data transparency. These results suggest that Agile Scrum is well-suited for dynamic, semi-academic environments such as teaching hospitals. This research offers a replicable, adaptive development model that can guide other health education institutions in accelerating the digital transformation of their academic and clinical administrative processes.

Abstract

Face decection using Dlib-HOG offers high performance under ideal lighting condition but significantly degrades when applied to low-light images. This study evaluates the effectiveness of Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) as a preprocessing method to enhance face detection accuracy under poor lighting conditions. CLAHE is applied to grayscale images to improve local contrast without introducing excessive artifacts, thereby making facial features more distinguishable for the HOG-based algorithm. Experiments were conducted on a facial image dataset with varied lighting conditions, comparing detection results before and after preprocessing. The results show a notable improvement in detection accuracy from 85.7% to 96.4% and a reduction in false negatives, with only a minimal increase in processing time. These findings confirm that CLAHE is an efficient and lightweight enhancement technique for improving the performance of Dlib-HOG on low-quality images.
