Abstract

Some verses of the Qur’an are positioned as the legality of practice of violence and abuse of men to women in their marriage. This paper focuses on the verse paragraph which reduces the rights of women in marriage, associated with a complete picture of women’s rights in marriage which are expected to minimize the outbreak of violence in the house hold and can revive the spirit of the Qur’an for women’s in dependence and the liberation of non-human bondage. Al- Zuhaili’s interpretation of these verses are divided into two parts, namely the interpretation of which is still gender bias and some interpretations which are quite friendly to women, such as appreciation for women’s reproductive role Keywords:women’srights,marriage,Qur’anicinterpretation, Wahbah al-Zuhaili
