Abstract

Background. Indonesia is well-known as a disaster-prone country. The numerous incident of disasters in Indonesia requires appropriate treatment, such as disaster preparedness efforts. Nurses play important roles during a disaster situation must be well prepared. This study was to examined the correlation between Hospital Disaster Plan Simulation and disaster preparedness level of nurses in Prambanan District Hospital Sleman. Methods. This is a quantitative research, non-experimental, descriptive correlative study with cross sectional design, 79 respondent participated in this study. The variables of nurses preparedness level were measured using the Disaster Preparedness Evaluation Tool Indonesian Version (DPET-I). Data were analyzed using a statistical descriptive and Mann Whitney with a significance level 95 %.Results. Prambanan District Hospital Nurses have a moderate level of disaster preparedness (knowledge:4,58; skills:4,33; post disaster management:4,33). Hospital Disaster Plan Simulation have a correlation with disaster preparedness level of nurses, statistical test showed significant (p < 0,05).Conclusion. Nurses need to improved disaster preparedness level by attending education, simulation like Hospital Disaster Plan Simulation, and increasing understanding of disaster management protocols in their workplace

Abstract

Abstract

Background: COVID-19 is caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus. The spread of this virus is very fast, so patients come to the Emergency Department (ED) for examination. The initial examination was carried out by triage the patient using the RT-PCR method. Then, there are recent studies that Computed Tomography (CT) can be used as a triage tool and help in the early diagnosis of patients with suspected COVID-19. Objectives: To determine chest CT for triage in the Emergency Department (ED) in patients with suspected COVID-19. Method:Search for articles was conducted electronically using Google Scholar, Sience Direct, and PubMed databases. Article used from March 2020 to January 2021. Keywords in this article search used the keywords "chest CT" for "triage" and "emergency department" for "COVID-19" and "chest x-ray" for "triage" and "emergency department" for "COVID-19", thus getting 5 research articles reviewed. Results: A chest CT that can be used as a triage tool based on the speed at which the chest CT results can be released depicting a confirmed COVID-19 patient in 60 minutes. Second, based on the sensitivity of chest CT there was 90.2% and according to chest CT instructions there was 89%. Conclusion: Chest CT examination is very effective as the first triage in diagnosing patients with suspected COVID-19.

Abstract

The patient's family has an important role in the implementation of infection prevention efforts in the hospital because of frequent contact with patients and susceptible to the entry of microorganisms. This behavior can be influenced by the knowledge factor. Individual behavior in accordance with applicable rules describes the extent to which the individual's level of compliance in implementing infection prevention behavior in the hospital. This study uses a cross sectional method with a total sample of 70 people taken by consecutive sampling technique. Collecting data using a questionnaire. The results of the Somers'd test showed that there was a significant relationship between knowledge and adherence to infection prevention behavior (p = 0.000).

Abstract

Background: The elderly are one of the groups vulnerable to disasters, especially the Covid-19 pandemic. Prevention of Covid-19 in the elderly can be increased through vaccination and health promotion efforts. The achievement of COVID-19 vaccination for the elderly is still in the low category and far from expectations. It is possible that the elderly's perception of the covid vaccination can influence the behavior of the elderly in making decisions to take the Covid-19 vaccine. Aim: To identify the elderly's perception of the covid-19 vaccination. Method: The method used in this research is a quantitative descriptive study.. Sampling was carried out using the total sampling technique Data collected using research instruments in the form of questionnaires developed from the Health Belief Model theory. Results: Based on the perception component of the HMB,majority of all perceptions showed moderate results. A perceived vulnerability level of 77.5%, a perceived seriousness of 70.15%, a perceived benefit of 75%, a perception of self-efficacy 83.8% and a cues to act 78.3%, and the majority of perceptions of barriers that are lacking are 75.8%. Conclusion: The majority of elderly’s perception showed moderate results.
