Abstract

Abundance of Fruit Fly Species (Diptera: Tephritidae) and Its Parasitoid Associated on Star Fruit Plants (Averrhoa carambola L.) in Gianyar regency. This study was conducted to determine the abundance of fruit flies, and itsspecies of parasitoid on starfruit plants in Gianyar regency. Samples of star fruit attacked by fruit fly was taken purposively. The purpose of this study was to know the abundance, composition, and percentage of damage, kinds of parasitoid and parasitization rate. The results showed that was found 2 kinds of fruit flies, that are Bactrocera. carambolae and B. papayae. B. carambolae was dominant in all districts in Gianyar Regency compare themB. papayae. In Sukawati district was 64%, (492 adults), Blahbatuh district was 59.817% (460 adults), Ubud district was 61.528% (491 adults), Payangan district was 55.476% (390 adults), Tampaksiring district was 55.001% (390 adults), respectively. Meanwhile, B. papayae in Sukawati district was 35.348%, (269 adults), Blahbatuh district was 40.182% (309 adults), Ubud district was 38.471% (307 adults), Payangan district was 44.523% (313 adults) and Tampaksiring district was 40.998% (271 adults), respectively. The average of damage percentage was 86.33%. There are 3 kinds of parasitoids associated on fruit flies in starfruit plants in Gianyar regency. The parasitoid are Diachasmimorpha sp, Opius sp. and Fopius arisanus. The average parasitization rate was 11.12%, with the highest parasitization rate in Ubud district was 12.40% and the lowest in Tampaksiring districtwas 9.58%.

Abstract

The growth rate comparison of white oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus (Jacq. ex Fr)Kummer) mycelium in the composition of different seed (F3) and baglog media . Cultivation ofoyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus (Jacq. ex Fr) Kummer) has grown rapidly along with the increasein income and health awareness. Oyster mushrooms growing need for media with a particular compositionin order to grow optimally. Oyster mushroom production is determined by the quality of the seeds (F3)is used, which is sourced from the media with good quality and composition. The research aimed todetermine the rate of growth of white oyster mushroom mycelium in the different composition of seedmedium (F3) (sawdust: fine bran: corn flour: CaCO3 ). The experiments was conducted at nurseriesand oyster mushroom development, Jl. Siulan Gang Zella No. 7 Denpasar, from June to August 2013.Each treatment contained 50 bottles, and 10 bottles only used as a sample, in environmental conditionswith temperature and humidity ranges, 20-29oC and 59-86% respectively . T-test was used todifferentiate the growth rate of white oyster mushroom mycelium with different compositions. Theresults showed that seeds (F3) derived from the growing media composition, sawdust (1 week old):fine bran: corn flour: CaCO3 (10:4:2:0,5) significantly different and better than the composition sawdust(age 1 month ): fine bran: corn flour (20:2:1:0.5), with a growth rate of mycelium in a mean 6.14±0.56cm/week and 1,81±0,82 cm/week, respectively. Spawn running in baglog with media composition10:4:2:0.5 was 2.77±1.22cm/week, but with composition media 20:2:1:0.5 mycelium could not grow.Effect of temperature and humidity on the growth rate of white oyster mushroom mycelium in seedmedia (F3) is not significantly.

Abstract

The diversity of fungi that contaminate rice and corn in the traditional market of Denpasar. Rice and corn are food commodities consumed daily by the public, but the rice and corn has been contaminated by a fungus, during the process of transportation and storage of experience. So it appears the author wishes to examine how big fungus has contaminated rice and corn in the traditional market town of Denpasar. Research conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Pathology, from April to June 2016. Research carried out consisted of: (1) isolating fungi that contaminate the rice and corn, and identify microscopy morphological, and (2) determine the diversity index and dominance index, as well prevaliensi fungal contamination. Identify the genera level, using reference books Samson et al., 1981; Pitt dan Hocking, 1997; Barnett dan Hunter, 1998; dan Indrawati et al., 1999. The results showed that the fungus can contaminate both the rice and corn in the market Kereneng, Agung, Badung and Ketapaian were Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus niger and Aspergillus spp. The highest prevalence of fungi that contaminate both the rice and maize are the A. flavus, 73.61 % and 92.96 % respectively. Index of diversity in rice and corn amounting to 0.742 0,302. Index of dominance in rice and maize respectively 0.581 and 0.867. Aflatoxins were found to have not reached the threshold tolerated (20 ppb) is in the rice at 0 ppb, while the largest corn at 2,133 ppb in Kereneng market.

Abstract

AbstrakKitab Adiparwa merupakan bagian dari Mahabarata di dalam cerita-cerita Adiparwa mengandung nilai-nilai pendidikan yang sangat tinggi yang dapat dipergunakan sebagai cermin dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Keberadaan Adiparwa di kelangan umat Hindu masih terbatas adanya, sedangkan nilai-nilai pendidikan yang terkandugn didalamnya apabila dikaji, disebarkan dan diamalkan akan dapat mengarahkan manusia ke jalan yang baik dan bahagia lahir dan batih terutama untuk membina mental spiritual.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali kandungan nilai-nilai pendidikan yag terdapat dalam kitab Adiparwa dan untuk mengetahui relevansinya terhadap pendidikan agama Hindu. Berdasarkan analisa kitab Adiparwa mengandung nilai-nilai yang dapat dijadikan pedoman dalam pendidikan agama Hindu seperti pendidikan kerohanian etika dan moral yaitu tentang perbuatan baik, hormat-menghormati antara sesama manusia, hormat terhadap orang tua, patuh, disiplin, jujur dan bertanggung jawab. Semua itu adalah untuk menuju ketentraman umat manusia dan kehidupan yang bahagia lahir dan batin. Kata Kunci: Adiparwa, Mahabarata, Pendidikan Hindu AbstractAdiparwa scripture is part of Mahabharata which contain high education values that can be used as a mirror in daily life. Adiparwa existence still limited among Hindus whereas the education values which contain inside of it if be reviewed, propagated and practiced will be able to guide people toward good path and to aim body and soul happiness especially to build spiritual mind.This study intends to explore the content of education values which contained inside Adiparwa scripture and to determine its relevance to Hindu education. Based on the analysis, Adiparwa contains values that can be used as guidance in Hindu education such as spirituality ethics and moral education which is about good attitude, respect to each other,  respect to parents, obedient, discipline, honest and responsible. Abstract

Tuberkulosis (TB) merupakan penyakit infeksi akibat M.tuberculosis yang mengakibatkan morbiditas dan mortalitas yang tinggi. Merebaknya strain M. tuberculoisis yang resisten terhadap obat anti tuberkulosis membuat penanganan TB menjadi semakin sulit dan beban ekonomi yang tinggi. Tujuan dari penulisan paper gagasan tulis ini untuk mendeskripsikan potensi nanopartikel alginat-kitosan-ekstrak daun kedondong hutan sebagai penatalaksanaan TB dan MDR-TB. Dari 87 jurnal yang ditelaah, 50 jurnal ditemukan sesuai dengan topik bahasan dan digunakan sebagai referensi karya ini. Kombinasi penyalutan alginat-kitosan merupakan kombinasi yang paling tepat karena dapat meningkatkan bioavailabilitas dan pelepasan berkelanjutan dari obat antibakteri. Nanopartikel alginat-kitosan-ekstrak daun kedondong hutan dapat menghambat sintesis asam mikolat  M. tuberculosis, proteasom dan mengakibatkan lisis dinding sel M. tuberculosis. Ekstrak daun kedondong hutan mengandung senyawa flavonoid dan triterpenoid yang berfungsi sebagai antituberkulosis. Flavonoid dapat berikatan dengan situs aktif HadB sehingga menghambat aktivitas enzim β-hydroxyacyl-ACP dehydratase yang berfungsi dalam elongasi rantai meromycolic. Selain itu, flavonoid dapat menghambat proteasom M. tuberculosis yang dalam keadaan dorman. Triterpenoid memiliki gugus sehingga mampu mengakibatkan lisis dinding sel M. tuberculsosis. Nanopartikel alginat-kitosan-ekstrak daun kedondong hutan memiliki potensi sebagai terapi baru untuk TB dan MDR-TB. Belum terdapat penelitian mengenai kombinasi modalitas ini sehingga diperlukan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk mengetahui potensi pasti nanopartikel alginat-kitosan-ekstrak daun kedondong hutan.
