Abstract

Initial studies in Boarding School Al-Islah Bulusan Semarang City, as much as 50% of the nutritional status of female teenagers experienced more nutrition. Today's teens have unhealthy eating patterns. Implementation competencies include knowledge, attitudes and skills about the selection of food in accordance with the standards of Indonesia Balanced Nutrition Guidelines are needed to improve nutritional awareness. The purpose of this study to determine the association of Indonesian Balanced Nutrition Guidelines competence with a body mass index status of female teenagers. The design studies with cross-sectional survey. The sampling technique was by purposive sampling amounted to 44 female teenagers. Data were collected through interviews and analyzed using Rank Spearman Rank test. The results showed that the status of the body mass index in young women is almost entirely better nutritional status (95.5%), lack of energy consumption (86.4%), lack of protein consumption (95.5%), and competence level about Balanced Nutrition Guidelines were good (84.1,%). In general, if the level of competence is seen from the competence of knowledge about Balanced Nutrition Guidelines were good (56.8%),competence level of attitudes about Balanced Nutrition Guidelines for attitude positive (52.3%), and competence level of skills about Balanced Nutrition Guidelines were good (40.1%). Based on Rank Spearman test there is a relationship of competence (knowledge,attitudes, skills) with a body mass index status (p-value = 0.017 and the correlation coefficient (ρ) = -0.359). The board suggested that boarding schools improve food management and curb the purchase of food at boarding corresponding Balanced Nutrition Guidelines.

Abstract

Ibu menyusui membutuhkan asupan gizi lebih banyak daripada ibu yang tidak menyusui sehingga membutuhkan keberagaman jenis makanan yang dikonsumsi. Sebagian besar ibu menyusui di Indonesia memiliki status gizi yang kurang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis hubungan keberagaman jenis makanan, tingkat kecukupan gizi dengan status gizi ibu menyusui. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian analitik observasional menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 96 ibu menyusui yang masih memberikan ASI dengan usia bayi 0-6 bulan. Jumlah subjek 53 orang yang dipilih dengan  teknik purposive sampling. Analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson dan Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata skor keberagaman jenis makanan adalah 8,73 dengan kategori sedang sebanyak (39,6%). Kelompok pangan yang kurang dikonsumsi adalah sayur dan buah-buahan.  Tingkat kecukupan energi kurang sebanyak (56,6%), kecukupan protein kurang sebanyak (52,8%), kecukupan lemak kurang sebanyak (58,5%) dan kecukupan vitamin A kurang sebanyak (58,5%). Status gizi ibu menurut IMT sebagian besar (52,8%) tergolong normal. Ada hubungan antara keberagaman jenis makanan (p=0,024), kecukupan energi (p=0,000), dan food taboo (p=0,044) dengan IMT.Tidak ada hubungan tingkat kecukupan protein (p=0,152), lemak (p=0,070), vitamin A (p=0,401), prioritas makanan dalam keluarga (p=0,084) dengan IMT. Disarankan kepada puskesmas untuk meningkatkan frekuensi promosi kesehatan seperti penyuluhan makanan sehat, beragam terutama pentingnya mengkonsumsi sayur dan buah-buahan saat menyusui oleh petugas kesehatan seperti kader posyandu.

Abstract

Young female anemia due to the less adequacy of iron intake, increased demand for iron and menstruation. Iron supplementation to increase hemoglobin levels. The objective of the study were to analyze differences in iron adequacy, enhancer factors (protein adequacy & vitamin C) and hemoglobin levels before and after iron supplementation for 1 month. Quasi experimental research method with one group pretest-post test approach. Intervention in the form of iron supplementation with the same type, amount and dose. Measurements before and after supplementation with time measurements. The research population were the eleventh grade school girl living in boarding school of the MTA Surakarta high school is 46 female students. The amount of samples is 32 students with quota sampling technique (sampling by quota). Data analysis using Wilcoxon signed rank test and Paired sample t test. The result showed that average iron adequacy in before supplementation was 43,6% and after supplementation became 23,6%; average protein adequacy in before 104,6% and after 101,4% and average vitamin C adequacy in before 42,3% and after 34,7%. Average hemoglobin levels in before 11,29 g/dL and after 11,07 g/dL. Wilcoxon signed rank test on iron adequacy between before and after supplementation obtained value p = 0,597; protein adequacy p = 0,340 (p> 0,05) and vitamin C adequacy p = 0,043 (p <0,05). Paired sample t test at hemoglobin level p = 0,253 (p> 0,05). The conclusion wasnot difference in iron adequacy, protein adequacy and hemoglobin levels in before and after iron supplementation of female students. It was difference vitamin C adequacy in before and after iron supplementation of female students. Recommendation for subsequent research to perform a valid measurement (measurement after menstruation/stable hormonal state) and a period of study longer than 1 month.

Abstract

Ikan teri asin sering dimakan oleh masyarakat Indonesia dan kandungan gizi ikan teri salah satunya protein, lemak, dan air. Tingginya Kandungan air pada ikan teri menyebabkan pembusukan menjadi cepat. Beberapa pedagang menambahkan pengawet agar dapat bertahan lama, bahkan ada yang menggunakan bahan pengawet berbahaya, seperti formalin. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis penurunan kadar formalin pada ikan teri sebelum dan sesudah perendaman air hangat 400C dan air garam konsentrasi 5%. Dengan penelitian ini masyarakat lebih waspada terhadap pembelian ikan teri karena banyak ikan teri yang mengandung formalin. Jenis penelitian ini adalah observasional analitik menggunakan pendekatan waktu cross sectional. Total sampel penelitian ini yaitu 15 sampel ikan teri. Analisis univariat dengan distribusi frekuensi, sedangkan analisis bivariat menggunakan Wilcoxon, uji t Paired, dan Mann Whiteney. Hasil uji kadar formalin menyatakan dari ke 15 sampel ikan teri positif mengandung formalin. Rata-rata penurunan kadar formalin pada ikan teri asin setelah direndam dengan air hangat 400C dan air garam dengan konsentrasi 5% yaitu 3,76% dan 3,25%. Hasil analisis dengan menggunakan wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa ada penurunan kadar formalin setelah direndam dengan air hangat 400C (p value = 0,001). Hasil analisis dengan menggunakan t paired menunjukkan bahwa ada penurunan kadar formalin setelah direndam air garam konsentrasi 5% (p value = 0,0001). Hasil uji mann whiteney menunjukkan perendaman air hangat 400C dan perendaman air garam dengan konsentrasi 5% memiliki efektivitas yang sama terhadap penurunan kadar formalin pada ikan teri asin ( p value  = 0,494). Perlu dilakukan penyuluhan secara intensif dan menyeluruh kepada pedagang ikan teri asin dan cara mengatasinya.

Abstract

Adolescent female students who live in islamic boarding schoolha a high risk for anemia since the nutrient intake is low and experience a fast growing period. One of the factors that can cause low nutrient intake was a fasting period during Ramadhan. Nutrient intake is influenced by food availability at the boarding school. The objective of this study was to analyze the correlation of food availability and nutrient intake on hemmoglobin level of female students during Ramadhan fasting on Islamic boarding school. The research used quantitative method with a cross sectional design. The population of this research were 48 female studentson their 8th grade. They aged between 13 - 15 years old. The subjects were 43 female students who were fastingand fulfill the inclusion criteria. Data were taken by interviews using food recall 2 x 24 hours method, anthropometric measuring and hemoglobin levels measuring using hemocue® Hb 201+ analyzer.data were analysed using Rank Spearman test. The finding showed that 62.8% of the subject were anemic. The food availability levels was low based on Desirable Dietary Pattern (DDP Score) which was 81.23. the energy adequacy levels was low in 86.0% subjects, 46.5% low in protein adequacy levels, 67.4% low in iron adequacy levels, and 60.5% low in vitamin C adequacy levels. There were correlations between energy adequacy levels (p=0.000), protein adequacy levels (p=0.000), iron adequacy levels (p=0.000) and vitamin C adequacy levels (p=0.000) with the hemoglobin level. It is suggested to the organizer to select affordable price foods but still can fulfill the female students need.

Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) is a condition where adolescent girls or women are having nutritional deficiency (energy and protein) which occurs for a long time or even years. CED risk is a condition where adolescent girls/women have a tendency to suffer from CED. Someone is diagnosed having CED risk is when the mid-upper arm circumference < 23,5 cm. The purpose of this research was to analyze the correlation of knowledge, attitude, level of energy consumption, protein and Body Mass Index for Age with CED risk in adolescent girl in Islamic Centre Baiturrahman Vocational High School Semarang on Ramadhan fasting 2017. This was a quantitative research with cross sectional design study. Population of this research were 87 adolescent girls in grade XI. Samples of this research were 46 adolescent girls who meet the inclusion criteria. Sampling technique was using purposive sampling. Data was analyzed using Rank Spearman. The results showed that average of respondents’ knowledge about nutrition 57.5% score. Median score of respondents’ attitude about nutrition 58.5% positive attitude. Median score of respondents’ level of energy consumption 55.0% RDA. Median score of respondents’ level of protein consumption 62.17% RDA. The average of respondents’ Body Mass Index for Age -0.3135. Statistical trial showed that there were no correlation of knowledge with CED (p=0,631), attitude with CED (p=0,251), level of energy consumption with CED (p=0,545), and level of protein consumption with CED (0,052). There was a correlation of Body Mass Index for Age with CED (p=0,000). This research suggested adolescent girls to increase nutritional intake as needed in order to prevent CED in the future.

Abstract

Severe acute malnutrition is a condition where nutritional deficiencies are seen based on nutritional status that is below the average standard determined based on the anthropometric indicator of body weight by height (WHZ)) with z-score <-3 SD and presence or absence of edema. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors associated with malnutrition status in under five child in Nutrition House of Semarang City. The type of research used is descriptive analytic quantitative research with cross sectional method. Population in this research is all mother and child who undergo recovery at Home Nutrition by sampling technique using total sampling technique that is 20. Anthropometric measurements were performed to calculate z-scores, filling out questionnaires, food recalls and food and non-family food expenditure forms. After doing the research, it is known that child suffering from severe acute malnutrition based on indicator WHZ is as many 11 people (55%). The results showed that variables associated with nutrition status were energy consumption level (p = 0,002), protein consumption (p = 0,04), and infectious disease (p = 0,000). While the variables associated with the level of energy and protein consumption is maternal nutrition knowledge and family economic status variables (p = 0.001).

Abstract

Student as preadult still requires the fulfillment of nutrients to support the activities during the course. But many students were the nutritional requirements have not been met thus causing a problem of nutrition, such as shortages and excess nutrients, can be prevented by the understanding and practice in accordance with the principles and guidelines for balanced nutrition. This research aims to see the correlation between attitudes grateful for the diversity of food, habit of eating a varied, hygiene lifestyle, physical activity, sufficiency level of energy protein and nutritional status of students. This research used a cross sectional to measure the independent and dependent variables at the same time. The population is all the Nutrition Public Health students Diponegoro University. Samples numbered 36 people using total sampling technique. Analysis of data using statistical test of Rank Spearman with a significance of 5% (0,05). The results showed there were 18 students who have a normal nutritional status, 23 of 36 students agreed to the attitude of grateful for the diversity of food, 18 students have the habit of eating were poor, 18 students have good hygiene life, 18 students have moderate physical activity, 26 students have under RDA of energy, and there were 25 students have upper RDA of protein. This study showed no association of food diversity grateful attitude (p = 0,163; r = -0,237), the habit of eating a variety of foods (p = 0,81;  r = 0,638), a clean lifestyle (p = 0,203; r = 0,235), physical activity (p = 0,992; r = -0,002), and there is a correlation energy sufficiency level (p = 0,005; r = -0,460), protein sufficiency level (p = 0,001; r = -0,549) on the nutritional status of students. Suggestion of this research students need to pay attention to their weight and improve their nutritional status by applying the principles and guidelines for balanced nutrition.

Abstract

Health development in the field of nutrition services is done to  improvemen t of nutrition troughout the life cycle since in the womb until elderly with prone to malnutrition group’s priority.The problem of malnutrition in pregnant woman at this time is the focus of attention, because the problem is very dangerous especially to pregnant woman who have anemia and Chronic Energy Deficiency. Nutritional problems that occur caused by several factors either directly or not. The purpose of this study was conducted to determine the relationship between socio-economic variables and nutrient intake with the incidence of Chronic Energy Deficiency in pregnant women. The form of research ,mis quantitative research that use observational analytic approach Cross sectional with Chronic Energy Deficiency are 27 people and Non-chronic Energy Deficiency are 47 people, so total sample are 74 people. Data were obtained by interview and questionnaire method. Data was analyzed using Chi Square test. The results of this study indicate that the educational variables (0.561> of 0.05), Job (0.272> 0.05), income (0.550> 0.05) and indicate Energy intake ( 0,006 <0,05) , protein intake (0,003 <0,05) and fat intake (0,000 <0,05) The conclusion of this research is that there is no correlation between socio-economic variables (education, occupation, and income) with Chronic Energy Deficiency in pregnant women and in nutritional intake variable (energy, protein, and fat) have correlation with Chronic Energy Deficiency in pregnant women

Abstract

Anemia is a decrease in the number of red cell mass or hemoglobin mass that it can not fulfill its function is to carry oxygen in sufficient quantities to peripheral tissues. Disruption of the formation of red blood cells can be caused by food consumed less containing nutrients, especially essential nutrients such as iron, folic acid, vitamin B12, protein and vitamin C. Prevalence of Anemia in Grobogan District in 2015 amounted to 30.9%. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the intake of iron, folic acid, vitamin B12 and vitamin C with hemoglobin levels of students in Junior High School 2 Tawangharjo Grobogan District. Type used observational research with cross-sectional approach. The data collection is done with recall 24 hours over two days in a row and hemoglobin content value obtained from venous blood sampling method Sahli and corrected by the method Sianmethemoglobin. The total sample of 70 samples were taken using stratified random sampling is done randomly by lottery. The correlation test used is the Spearman rank correlation. The results showed that the intake of iron, folic acid, vitamin B12 and vitamin C intake of the majority of research subjects including less category. 67.1% iron intake, intake of folic acid 77.1%, 65.7% intake of vitamin B12, vitamin C intake as much as 52.9% and 75.7% suffering from anemia. The result of the correlation intake of iron, folic acid, vitamin B12 with hemoglobin levels obtained value of p <0.05 and correlation of test results vitamin C content of hemoglobin obtained value of p> 0.05. There is a relationship intake of iron, folic acid, vitamin B12 with hemoglobin levels of students in Junior High School 2 Tawangharjo Grobogan District. And there was no association of vitamin C intake with hemoglobin levels of students in Junior High School 2 Tawangharjo Grobogan District.
