Abstract

Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a disease that occurs due to decreased oxygen flow to the heart as a result of a buildup of plaque in the arteries. Patients with CHD usually feel afraid because they are exposed to the most vital parts of the body which can be at risk of death, this is what causes CHD patients to feel anxious. Anxiety that is not resolved can cause changes in heart rhythm which can make the patient's condition worse. One of the non-pharmacological techniques for dealing with anxiety is audio murottal Al-Quran therapy. The purpose of this case study was to determine the effect of murottal Al-Quran audio therapy on the anxiety level of CHD patients. The method used is descriptive method with a case study approach. The sampling technique was purposive sampling which met the inclusion criteria. The instrument used is State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). The results of the application of murrotal audio therapy in CHD patients showed that there was a change where the patient's anxiety level decreased from moderate anxiety level (STAI score: 64) to not anxious (STAI score: 22). Conclusion: there is an effect of murrotal audio therapy on CHD STEMI patients in the ICU room of dr. T.C. Hillers Maumere .

Abstract

Bronchopneumonia is one of the world's health problems that occurs in children where the disease is caused by bacteria that enter the bronchi and alveoli. The inflammatory process of bronchopneumonia usually results in an inability to maintain a patent airway. If this condition is not treated immediately it can cause the child to experience severe shortness of breath which can worsen the child's condition so that the child needs to be treated in the Intensive Care Unit. In this case the family has an important role in determining the treatment or method needed by the patient in the intensive care unit. However, families are prone to experiencing anxiety which will slow down the process of decision making and patient care, so it is very important for the role of nurses to overcome family anxiety, one of which is the intervention of Nurse Social Support. The purpose of this study was to identify Nurse Social Support interventions to reduce family anxiety in the ICU. The type/research design used is descriptive method with a case study approach. The subject of this case study is a family that has met the inclusion criteria, namely the client's biological mother with anxiety problems, and is willing to be a respondent. Participant taking technique using purposive sampling. The research instrument for family anxiety used the STAI questionnaire ((State-Trait Anxiety Inventory). The results showed that the Nurse Social Support intervention could reduce the anxiety of the patient's family because the family felt that their interaction with the nurse was an opportunity to share feelings, knowledge and information so they could overcome anxiety.

Abstract

Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) is a medical emergency that is still a major cause of global morbidity and mortality. The success of ACS treatment and prevention of recurrence is highly dependent on self-care. However, many ACS patients have difficulty performing self-care due to low self-efficacy. This study aims to explain the relationship between self-efficacy and self-care in ACS patients. This study used a correlation analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population was 62 outpatients at the Heart Clinic, with a sample of 41 people selected using purposive sampling. Self-efficacy was measured using the Cardiac Self-Efficacy Scale (CSE scale) and self-care using the Self-Care of Coronary Heart Disease Inventory (SC-CHDI). The study was conducted in April-May 2025. Data were analyzed using the Pearson product moment correlation test. The results showed a p value of 0.004 (p <α), which means there is a relationship between self-efficacy and self-care in ACS patients. The direction of the relationship is positive, meaning that the higher the self-efficacy, the better the self-care, and vice versa with the closeness of the relationship in the weak category (r 0.437). Self-efficacy is positively related to better self-care behavior in ACS patients. Therefore, nurses can integrate self-care improvement care through comprehensive self-efficacy education.

Abstract

Acute pain is one of the main complaints that is often the reason for patients to come to the Emergency Installation (IGD) and is an important indicator in assessing the quality of nursing care. Fast and appropriate pain management will increase patient comfort and satisfaction with health services. One of the factors that greatly affects the reduction in pain is the timing of the administration of analgesics. The sooner the analgesic is administered, the more effective it is at reducing pain, which ultimately impacts the patient's satisfaction level. This study aims to explain the relationship between the time of analgesic administration and the satisfaction level of patients who experience acute pain in the emergency room. The type of research used is correlation analytics with cross-sectional designs. The sampling technique used accidental sampling with a total of 43 respondents, according to the inclusion criteria. The research was conducted in May 2025. Data on the timing of analgesic administration were collected through observation sheets, while patient satisfaction data was obtained using a structured questionnaire. The results showed that most of the patients who received analgesics did not match the recommended time felt dissatisfied, namely 26 people (60.5%). Based on the results of the contingency coefficient test, a value of p = 0.000 was obtained, which means that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. This shows a significant relationship between the speed of analgesic administration and patient satisfaction. The sooner the analgesic is administered after a pain assessment, the higher the patient's level of satisfaction with the services provided. Therefore, emergency room nurses are expected to increase responsiveness in administering analgesics, starting from assessment, determination of interventions, to implementation according to hospital standard operating procedures (SPO).

Abstract

Pain is a complex phenomenon as a psychological experience. Inaccurate pain assessment results in inappropriate pain management. Inappropriate pain appraisals are associated with perception. The aim of the research is to explain the correlation between nurses' perceptions of patients' pain assessments. The type of research is observational research, with a cross sectional approach. This research involved 60 respondents (30 nurses and 30 patients) taken using quota sampling and carried out in November 2023 at RSUD dr. T.C. Hillers Maumere. The instrument used to measure perceptions uses a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The r value>0.4438 and Cronbach's alpha value 0.893. Pain assessment was measured using standard operating procedures (SOP). Data were analyzed using the contingency coefficient test. The research results showed that 56.7% had negative perceptions and 80% of nurses carried out pain assessments that did not comply with the SOP. The results of the contingency coefficient test obtained a value of p = 0.067 (p > 0.05), so there is no relationship between nurses' perceptions of pain assessment in patients in the emergency department. This research concluded that the majority of nurses' perceptions were negative perceptions and the highest assessment of pain was that it did not comply with the SOP. In addition, there was no relationship between nurses' perceptions of patients' pain assessments. For this reason, nurses must carry out pain assessments according to existing SOPs.

Abstract

ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) is an emergency condition caused by rupture of atheroma plaque in the coronary arteries which blocks blood flow to the heart. If this condition is not treated immediately it can result in disability and death. The family has an important role in determining the treatment needed by the patient in the Intensive Care Unit. However, families are vulnerable to experiencing anxiety which will slow down the process of decision making and patient care, so the role of nurses is very important in overcoming family anxiety. One of them is the intervention of providing educational therapy. The aim of this research is to provide nursing care to Paisen families with STEMI to overcome anxiety. The type and research design used is a descriptive method with a case study approach. The subjects of this case study are families who have met the inclusion criteria, namely the patient's wife with anxiety problems, can read and write, and is willing to be a respondent. The participant collection technique used purposive sampling. The research instrument used the HARS (Hamilton Anxiety Raiting Scale) questionnaire. The research was carried out in 2 days. The research results show that educational therapy intervention can reduce the patient's family's anxiety from severe to mild anxiety. For this reason, nurses are expected to be able to provide social support both informationally and emotionally so that there is no anxiety in the family.

Abstract

Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) remains a leading cause of death worldwide. Therefore, good self-care is essential to prevent recurrence, improve quality of life, and reduce complications. Self-care is influenced by disease perception, but its relationship in ACS patients remains understudied. The purpose of this study was to explain the relationship between illness perception and self-care in ACS patients. This was a correlational analytic study with a cross-sectional design. A sample of 42 individuals was selected according to research criteria and purposive sampling was used. The study was conducted from September to October 2025 at the Cardiology Clinic. Data on illness perception were collected using the Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire (B-IPQ). Self-care was measured using the Self-Care of Coronary Heart Disease Inventory (SC-CHDI) questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation test. The results showed a relationship between illness perception and self-care in ACS patients. The direction of the relationship was positive, meaning that the more positive the illness perception score, the better the self-care score, and vice versa. The correlation strength was 0.453 (weak category). Therefore, interventions aimed at improving perceptions have been shown to improve compliance and clinical outcomes in ACS patients. For nurses, integrating these interventions into ACS management is key to improving safe care and treatment success.
