Abstract

Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah aktualisasi dan filosofi kepemimpinan tradisional yang diberikan kepada generasi muda di Bale Marojahan Medan. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan membantu salah satu acara yang tidak bisa dilaksanakan karena tidak adanya dana untuk menjalankan rencana kegiatan tersebut. Acara yang diselenggarakan adalah dengan mendanai acara seminar aktualisasi dan filosofi kepemimpinan tradisional yang tema kali ini memfokuskan pada tradisi Mandailing Angkola dan Minangkabau. Penyelenggaraan cara seminar ini diselenggarakan di Bale Marojahan Medan yang yang menjadi tempat berkumpulnya beberapa komunitas yang terdiri dari generasi muda untuk bisa meningkatkan rasa cinta terhadap tradisi dan nasionalisme bangsa. Target yang dibidik adalah generasi muda untuk tidak mengabaikan kearifan tradisi dan nilai-nilai budaya masyarakat lokal tentang kepemimpinan. Evaluasi kemudian dilakukan 3 bulan sesudah acara diselenggarakan untuk melihat bagaimana aplikasi dan semangat dari generasi muda untuk menggali konsep kepemimpinan tradisional sebagai salah satu alternative dan pilihan diantara berbagai bentuk pola kepemimpinan yang ada kepada komunitas masing-masing.

Abstract

This research focuses on analyzing the empowerment of social institutions as village government partners in the participatory development process. The location is in Percut Village, Percutseituan District, Deliserdang Regency. The background that is used as a reference for this research begins with the understanding that the urgency of villages in development in Indonesia is so urgent. The village is given authoritative to grow and develop in line with the development of its own community. Furthermore, the village holds millions of pieces of knowledge of the virtues of life and harmony of local wisdom that should be maintained, can be recognized from the mantra of three orders, namely; ordinances, manners, and manners (Zamroni, 2017). This kind of thinking construction is important to restate in order to examine the current relationship between the village government and the community (social institutions). Social institutions as partners of the Village Government have a very strategic role; start to formulate participatory development plans, implement, control, utilize, maintain and develop participatory development, mobilize and develop participation, mutual cooperation and community self-help, and foster dynamic development of the community in the context of community empowerment. Seeing the huge role that village community institutions have, it is important and interesting that this research is carried out to see the existence of community institutions as village government partners in the participatory development process. With this research, it will provide reference data for stakeholders related to community institution empowerment. In addition, it is an academic study in public policy and provides input to the village government regarding the reference to the model of community institution empowerment as a partner of the village government in order to work together to manage development in a participatory village. As for answering the problem of this study using qualitative methods and types of research with a descriptive approach. The targeted research output is a journal article and as a follow up will create a model in the institutionalization of village community organizations.

Abstract

Working as a journalist has a routine that is basically a need for information that the public wants. The routine that is carried out does not recognize any time and conditions, in other words, it must always be standby / ready to do coverage. However, most people think that the job of a journalist looks relaxed and easy-going because it is not bound by a schedule like most people in the office. But actually, the work of journalists is very demanding and risky. The work of journalists every day, regardless of time, place and conditions, is directly related to the nine principles of journalism, one of which is the fourth principle which states that journalists must maintain independence in their journalistic duties. The purpose of this study is to analyze the independence of journalists in carrying out their journalistic duties in Medan City. This research uses descriptive method with qualitative approach. The research was conducted in Medan City for 5 months using data collection techniques namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The conclusion of the research related to the application of journalists' independence in carrying out journalistic duties in Medan City is that it cannot be fully realized, due to many conflicts of interest.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of organizational communication in the implementation of coffee barista training at the Center for Vocational Development and Productivity (BBPVP) Medan. Effective organizational communication is the key to success in knowledge and skills transfer in vocational training programs. The research method uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Research subjects consisted of instructors, training participants, and program managers at BBPVP Medan. The results showed that organizational communication in coffee barista training has been effective with indicators of high participant participation, good material understanding, and achievement of learning objectives. Supporting factors include instructor competence, adequate infrastructure, and varied communication methods. However, there are still obstacles in terms of coordination between units and feedback mechanisms. This research recommends improving internal communication systems and developing more interactive communication models to increase training effectiveness. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas komunikasi organisasi dalam pelaksanaan pelatihan coffee barista di Balai Besar Pelatihan Vokasi dan Produktivitas (BBPVP) Medan. Komunikasi organisasi yang efektif menjadi kunci keberhasilan dalam transfer pengetahuan dan keterampilan pada program pelatihan vokasi. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari instruktur, peserta pelatihan, dan pengelola program di BBPVP Medan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi organisasi dalam pelatihan coffee barista telah berjalan efektif dengan indikator tingginya partisipasi peserta, pemahaman materi yang baik, dan tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran. Faktor pendukung meliputi kompetensi instruktur, sarana prasarana memadai, dan metode komunikasi yang variatif. Namun, masih terdapat kendala dalam hal koordinasi antar unit dan feedback mechanism. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perbaikan sistem komunikasi internal dan pengembangan model komunikasi yang lebih interaktif untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pelatihan.
