Abstract

PENILAIAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS DAN PENGUASAAN KONSEP PADA MATERI EKOSISTEMAbstractCritical thinking skills and mastery concepts are competencies that measure cognitive aspects. Both of these competencies support each other. This study aims to analyze critical thinking skills and mastery concepts of students in the ecosystem material. This was quantitative research. The sampling technique used Purposive Sampling, namely 60 high school students. Data was collected through the critical thinking skills test and mastery concept of ecosystem tests for students and interviews with the teacher. Based on the analyzed data, the average critical thinking skills and mastery concepts of an ecosystem are 53,15 and 61,10, which are in the low category. This is because students still have difficulty in understanding the basic concepts of ecosystems; students have not understood yet the terms in the ecosystem so that the terms with their meanings are often exchanged which has an impact on the low achievement of students.AbstrakKeterampilan berpikir kritis dan penguasaan konsep adalah kompetensi yang mengukur kemampuan kognitif. Kedua kompetensi tersebut saling berkaitan dan mendukung satu sama lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keterampilan berpikir kritis dan penguasaan konsep peserta didik pada materi Ekosistem. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling, yaitu 60 peserta didik SMA. Data diperoleh melalui tes tentang keterampilan berpikir kritis dan penguasaan konsep pada materi Ekosistem yang dikerjakan oleh peserta didik dan wawancara dengan guru. Berdasarkan analisis data, rata-rata keterampilan berpikir kritis dan penguasaan konsep materi Ekosistem peserta didik, masing-masing adalah 53,15 dan 61,10. Hasil tersebut termasuk dalam kaegori rendah. Hal ini disebabkan oleh sulitnya peserta didik dalam memahami konsep dasar Ekosistem, belum mengertinya istilah-istilah dalam ekosistem sehingga sering terjadi pertukaran istilah dengan maknanya yang berdampak pada rendahnya prestasi belajar siswa.

Abstract

Abstract:Panyirapan is a village whose community work is dominated by farmers. People are still farming conventionally and do not know the techniques of farming with a hydroponic system. The hydroponic training conducted by BLK Lembang aims to educate the people of Panyirapan village to switch to hydroponic farming that is more environmentally friendly. The training was held from 27 October to 12 November 2020. The training method consisted of providing theory and practice by BLK representative instructors. The theory given to the training participants is an introduction to hydroponics in general, Applying Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Provisions in the Workplace, as well as the given practice, namely the practice of installing wick systems, NFT, seedlings, making AB Mix stock solutions, transplanting, and standards. operational (SOP) hydroponic gardening. The training participants were 16 people who were heterogeneously selected and grouped into 4 groups. The vegetable crops grown are pakcoy, red lettuce, green lettuce, spinach and kale. The results of the training show that the training participants have competence in the field of hydroponics which is attached to the graduation certificate which is distributed to the trainees at the end of the series of training activities. The training activities provide knowledge to the community, especially the training participants on how to grow modern crops (hydroponics), being able to motivate themselves to become entrepreneurs in the field of hydroponic agriculture by forming a hydroponic farmer group, namely the fragrant blooming hydroponic vegetable community. The community actively sells their harvests in the form of pakcoy, spinach, lettuce and kale to the panyirapan community. Keywords: Hydroponic Training, Community Empowerment, NFT System, Wick System  Abstrak:Panyirapan merupakan desa yang pekerjaan masyarakatnya didominasi oleh petani. Masyarakat masih bertani secara konvensional dan kurang mengetahui teknik bercocok tanam dengan sistem hidroponik. Pelatihan hidroponik yang dilakukan oleh BLK Lembang bertujuan untuk mengedukasi masyarakat desa Panyirapan agar beralih ke pertanian hidroponik yang lebih ramah lingkungan. Pelatihan dilaksanakan pada 27 Oktober 2020 hingga 12 November 2020. Metode pelatihan terdiri dari pemberian teori dan praktik oleh instruktur perwakilan BLK. Teori yang diberikan terhadap peserta pelatihan yaitu pengenalan hidroponik secara umum, Menerapkan Ketentuan Keselamatan, Kesehatan Kerja dan Lingkungan di Tempat Kerja, serta praktik yang diberikan yaitu praktik membuat instalasi sistem wick, NFT, semai, membuat larutan stock AB Mix, pindah tanam, dan standar oprasional (SOP) berkebun hidroponik. Peserta pelatihan sebanyak 16 orang yang dipilih secara heterogen dan dikelompokan menjadi 4 kelompok. Komoditas tanaman sayuran yang ditanam yaitu pakcoy, selada merah, selada hijau, bayam dan kangkung. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa para peserta pelatihan telah memiliki kompetensi di bidang hidroponik yang terlampir pada sertifikat lulus yang dibagikan kepada para peserta pelatihan di akhir rangkaian kegiatan pelatihan. Kegiatan pelatihan memberikan pengetahuan kepada masyarakat khususnya para peserta pelatihan mengenai cara bercocok tanam modern (hidroponik), mampu motivasi untuk berwirausaha di bidang pertanian hidroponik dengan terbentuknya kelompok tani hidroponik yaitu komunitas sayuran hidroponik mekar wangi. Komunitas tersebut aktif menjual hasil panennya berupa pakcoy, bayam, selada dan kangkung ke lingkungan masyarakat panyirapan. Kata Kunci: Pelatihan Hidroponik, Pemberdayaan Masyarakat, Sistem NFT, Sistem Wick

Abstract

The use of chemical medicine in livestock soared. The price of expensive chemical medicine does not discourage people from turning to herbal medicines. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of public knowledge of ethnoveterinary pharmacology and diversity of herbal medicines in the village of Sukarame. This research is quantitative descriptive. Data was collected through observation, semi-structured interviews and identification. The sample in this study was the people in Sukarame village and the types of herbal medicines in Sukarame village. Data from the community was obtained through interviews and observations with the Purposive Sampling technique and data on the type of ethnoverinary obtained from identification. The results showed that public knowledge about ethnoveterinary pharmacology obtained an average score of 55%. The informants who provided data were men at 71% of the total informants. The types of herbal medicines used by the public are Zingiber officinale, Curcuma domestica, Physalis angulata, Piper betle.

Abstract

Ecosystem concepts are not a science that is far from daily life. Therefore, teachers need an innovation that can support students’ mastery of the ecosystem concept. This study aims to analyze the influence of the CirGi (Cooperative Integrated Reading, Composition, and Guided Inquiry) learning model on the learners’ ecosystem concept mastery. This research uses a quasi-experiment method with a pre-post control group design with a sample of 104 students. Data collection is carried out using an instrument of ecosystem concept mastery in the form of multiple choices so that questions could cover all the materials. The data analysis technique used is an independent sample t-test. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant influence of CirGi’s learning model on the learners’ mastery of ecosystem concept. The application of CirGi learning model on ecosystem material can revive reading activities along with environmental awareness.

Abstract

Reproductive health is complete physical, mental and social well-being not only because it is free from disease or disability, in all aspects related to the reproductive system, its functions and processes which include men or women. The research was conducted with the aim of knowing the relationship between reproductive health knowledge and sexual behavior in Class X SMA Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan. This research is an analytic research with cross sectionalapproach. The sampling technique is simple random sampling of 33 students and analyzed by Chi-square test. The results of this study show that there is a relationship between reproductive health knowledge and sexual behavior with p = 0.005 ≤ 0.05. So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between knowledge of reproductive health and sexual behavior, it is suggested to health workers to provide counseling to adolescents regarding reproductive health more often to avoid unhealthy sexual behavior

Abstract

Practicum has an important role in learning science, especially biology. The continuity of the practicum can be supported by the existence of laboratory facilities. This study aims to determine the description of the implementation of biology practicum and the completeness of laboratory infrastructure at Senior High School State of Padangsidimpuan. The research method in this study is quantitative descriptive with 97 students and 11 biology teachers as the sample. Collecting data using questionnaires and observations. Questionnaires for teachers and students were used to determine the implementation of the practicum and observations in the laboratory were used to determine the completeness of the biology laboratory infrastructure. Based on data analysis, the average implementation of biology practicum and completeness of biology laboratory is 74.51 and 72.06 respectively.

Abstract

Biology require students to be able to think at a high level in understanding all concepts including material on the human reproductive system, must be able to unite or connect with other processes or systems that occur in the human body or connect with other biological concepts. This research and development aims to produce valid and reliable higher-order thinking skill instruments. So that it can be used as an alternative in measuring, training, and improving the ability to think at a high level in the human reproductive system. The method used in this research is (RD). This study’s instrument for high-level thinking skills in reproductive system material refers to the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate).

Abstract

Moss is a division of lower plants that is usually found in damp and dry places. Moss usually has a characteristic green color, is small in size and has various shapes. Based on ecology, mosses have an important relationship with the ecosystem, namely maintaining water balance and nutrient cycles, being an important habitat for other organisms, being able to act as bioindicators because mosses are more sensitive to climate change and are pioneer plants. Because moss has an important role in the environment and research has never been carried out and there is no data regarding the identification of moss in the UIN Syahada Padangsidimpuan area. So the aim of the research was to identify the moss that grows in the area. This research uses qualitative descriptive research using exploratory methods. The research results obtained were 15 species of moss consisting of 10 species of leaf moss, 3 species of liverwort and 2 species of lichenese

Abstract

The family planning program is one of the government's efforts to improve the population’s quality. The strategy in contraceptive services currently being developed is to promote the use of long-term contraceptive methods. Contraceptive methods including long-term contraceptive methods are iud, implant, mow, and mop. This research is an analytical study with a cross-sectional approach with a population of 82 people and a sampling technique, namely a total population of 82 people who are family planning acceptors for 3-month injections, and analyzed using the chi-square test. Based on the results of statistical tests, it is known that p-value = 0.000 < 0.05, meaning there is a significant relationship between perception and the choice of Long-Term Contraceptive Methods (LTCM).

Abstract

The broad scope of biology and the many sources of biology reading requires eleven grade students to think critically about sorting out information to develop and support students' critical thinking skills. CirGi is an integration of the cooperative integrated reading and composition (CIRC) learning model and guided inquiry (GI) that emphasizes reading and writing activities, accompanied by guidance from the teacher. This study aimed to analyze the influence of CirGi's learning model on students' critical thinking skills. This research uses a quasi-experiment method with pre-post control group design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, namely 104 high school students. Data collection was carried out using instruments of critical thinking skills in the form of essays, questionnaire responses of students to learning, and observation sheets of syntax implementation. The data analysis technique used was one-way ANCOVA. After controlling for the pretest scores, the CirGi learning model's influence on students' critical thinking skills was influenced. This learning model was appropriate for learning biology, so it can regrow the activities of reading science books that impact students' critical thinking skills.
