Abstract

Fisheries products from marine sector really need to be considered because Indonesia, especially in the waters of Dumai City, has abundant fish resources of up to 571 tons/year. Diversification of processed fish is a solution so that processed fish can be consumed by the community. On the other hand, the local community of Pelintung Village, Dumai City, still lacks appropriate technology that can improve the quality of processed products from diversification. Some processed fish products are of poor quality. Community service activities aim to provide knowledge transfer and use of oil draining machines so that people can improve the quality of processed fish or non-fish. This community service activity uses the method of applying the use of an oil draining machine in Pelintung Village. The essence of this event is the delivery of theoretical and practical material about oil draining machines. The pre-test was carried out before the material was delivered and the post-test was carried out after the material was delivered. Filling in the satisfaction index is done along with filling out the post-test. The results of this activity stated that the community was very enthusiastic as the percentage of correct answers for the pre-test and post-test increased. The results of the pre-test and post-test in the knowledge, operation and maintenance categories increased to 75%, 84% and 100%, respectively. The satisfaction level of participants was also stated to be satisfied with the percentage of 61.7% and getting benefits from this community service activity. This activity must continue to be evaluated so that when holding similar activities, it can be more effective, efficient and sustainable. Recommendations for service activities in the form of processing fishery products that can be practiced directly with the community will be better in the future.

Abstract

Heat exchanger (HE) is a component of the main engine cooling system that plays a very important role in the process of changing the fluid temperature by exchanging the amount of heat with other fluids. The use of HE in the main engine cooling system should be considered in controlling after operation. HE performance can be analyzed using heat transfer analysis in the form of heat absorbed by HE (Q), LMTD and heat transfer coefficient (U). This study aims to analyze heat transfer in the form of calculations of absorbed heat, LMTD and heat transfer coefficient on the main engine HE KM Sumber Mutiara. This study measures the temperatures of fresh water and sea water entering and leaving the HE. In addition, measurement of water discharge and determination of the dimensions of the HE used for the main engine cooling system of KM Sumber Mutiara. This research shows that the highest heat value absorbed by HE (Q) is at RPM 1200 at 44.85 kJ/s, for the LMTD value at RPM 1000 at 45.69 oC and for the U value at RPM 1100 at 824 W/m2. oC. HE main engine KM Sumber Mutiara has not maximized its performance due to the fouling factor from sea water. The need for preventive maintenance and additional filters on the KM Sumber Mutiara Main Machine Heat Exchanger to increase the effectiveness of the HE.

Abstract

Potensi sumberdaya perikanan laut provinsi sumatera utara secara umum belum tergarap secara maksimal, Kapal merupakan sarana dalam upaya penangkapan ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan membuat standart operasional prosedur perawatan sistem pelumasan mesin induk pada kapal KM.Sumber Baru di Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara Sibolga guna menunjang kinerja operasional penangkapan ikan. Fungsi pelumasan pada mesin induk adalah untuk mengurangi keausan pada benda-benda yang bergerak dan bergesekan terhadap satu sama lain serta mengurangi panas yang berlebihan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode survei, dengan pendekatan secara deskriptif dan pendekatan secara kuantitatif. Sistem pelumasan di KM. Sumber Baru menggunakan jenis Sugilube CF SAE 40W (winter). Perawatan sistem pelumasan pada kapal KM.Sumber baru adalah perawatan berkala dan perawatan rutin yang terdiri dari: memeriksa tangki minyak pelumas secara rutin, membersihkan saringan minyak pelumas secara rutin, membongkar dan membersihkan auto Saringan dan pendinginannya secara berkala, memeriksa kualitas minyak pelumas setiap 1200 jam Kerja, memeriksa saluran pipa minyak pelumas secara berkala.

Abstract

Di kota Dumai, bengkel yang menerima perbaikan mesin di kampung nelayan masih terbatas jumlahnya apabila dibandingkan dengan jumlah perahu yang ada, apabila terjadi kerusakan mesin mengakibatkan nelayan tidak dapat segera melaut. Oleh karena itu tujuan kegiatan ini memberdayakan masyarakat agar mampu melakukan perawatan dan perbaikan mesin penggerak kapal secara mandiri melalui kegiatan pelatihan. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut tiga puluh peserta diberikan tiga modul pelatihan yang berupa 1) pengetahuan, perawatan dan perbaikan mesin diesel, 2) keselamatan kerja perbengkelan, SOP keselamatan dan alat pelindung diri dan 3) modul peralatan dan cara menggunakan peralatan bengkel. Untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang signifikan, mesin diesel satu silinder 24PK digunakan sebagai bahan demonstrasi dan praktik perawatan dan perbaikan mesin. Untuk menyampaikan materi kegiatan secara komprehensif, ceramah dan praktik secara terarah diterapkan. Untuk mengetahui keberhasilan kegiatan yang valid, dilakukan pengukuran menggunakan kuesioner yang dianalisis secara sederhana menggunakan chart. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta yang signifikan, sebelum kegiatan dilaksanakan rata-rata pengetahuan dan keterampilan sebesar 26% dan setelah kegiatan menghasilkan nilai rata-rata 92%, sebanyak 66% dari 30 orang peserta menyatakan sangat puas dan 92% menyatakan kegiatan ini sangat memberikan manfaat. Pemberdayaan masyarakat ini sangat signifikan untuk mengatasi permasalahan kerusakan mesin penggerak kapal bagi nelayan sehingga mampu melakukan perawatan mesin secara berkala dan memperbaiki mesin secara mandiri sehingga terhindar dari kerugian akibat tidak melaut karena kerusakan mesin penggerak kapalnya.

Abstract

The production of complex machine components requires advanced and accurate techniques. Achieving optimal quality through 3D printing involves carefully examining the process parameters. However, many studies have not thoroughly explored the impact of these parameters on parts produced using Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printing. This study evaluates how process parameters and material variations affect the dimensional accuracy of printed parts. The study focuses on input variables such as material type, infill density, infill pattern, and raster angle. Using the fractional L9 Taguchi method, the optimal settings identified were PLA+ material, 80% infill density, an infill grid pattern, and a 0° raster angle, resulting in a 1.39%-dimensional deviation and an S/N ratio of -3.29 dB. ANOVA analysis reveals material type as the most significant factor, contributing 49.81% to performance. These findings, complemented by statistical analyses, can guide decision-making in industrial applications and serve as a reference for selecting FDM 3D printing settings related to dimensional accuracy to print components in the industry.
