Abstract

This research aims to study the implementation of agricultural extension in Langgam District and to analyse the competence of agricultural extension in Langgam District. This research used survey method. The respondents were the agricultural staff in Langgam District, they were selected by sensus. Data analysis used qualitative analysis and Likert's Summated Rating (LSR). The result showed that the agricultural extension’s implementation in Langgam District were: the number of agricultural extension in Langgam District are 5 people with palm farmers as target ; the method used Training and Visiting ; the media used properties and tools ; the material given of extension suitable with farmer’s need; and the time of extension suitable with agreement. The competence level of agricultural extension in Langgam District was categoried as “very competent” in total of 4.21 score. It is supported by competence of administration, planning of program, implementation of program, teaching and evaluation in “very competent” category. The competence of communication in “competent enough” category with 2.90 score.

Abstract

The aims of this research are to learn the implementation of agricultural extension and to analyze the internal and external motivation of agricultural extension staff in Kubu district of Rokan Hilir regency. This research was conducted in Kubu district of Rokan Hilir regency by using survey method. The population of this research is the entire extension officers. A total of 8 persons of the population was taken as respondent as census. The first goal of this research was analyzed by using a descriptive qualitative method and the second and third goals were analyzed by using Likert Scale's Summated Rating (SLR). The results indicate that the implementation of agricultural extension in the Kubu district run under the porch of agricultural extension which was carried out by eight extension staff who built 15 villages and 117 farmer community. The internal motivation of agriculture extension staff is in the "high" category which is reflected from the level of education, personal maturity, hope and expectations, as well as job satisfaction. External motivation of agricultural extension staff is also classified in “high” 'categories of conditions reflected by the high work environment, good supervision, as well as a flexible regulation.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to analyze the role of plantation extension in develeopment of rubber marketing group and formulate strategy to increase extension role for developing rubber marketing group in Kuantan Singingi Regency. The amount of 5% of sample for each marketing group management and marketing group member was selected by purposive and random methods, respectively. The result showed that extension personnel in Kuantan Singing had role in organizing dan dinamizing farmer group, besides being as technical and consultant in directing farmer group for marketing rubber. In rubber marketing, extension personnel teached the marketing and farming techniques throught trainning according to competency and skill owned. Extension plantation personnel had a role in developing rubber marketing group which was proved by the organzed farmer group and improved farmer income. Farmers which joined in farmer group had more enthusiasm in increasing performance on their farmer group. The strategy which could applied extension personal in developing rubber marketing group consisted of three main priorities, i.e, 1) to make group cooperation for marketing rubber to available market, 2) to increase rubber quaity for maitin selling price, and 3) to cut coopeation relationship to “toke” with empowering capital of the farmer groups.

Abstract

The aims of this research to determine the implementation of KRPL Program and farmers habit in KRPL program. The research was conducted in 11 villages of Pelalawan Regency in 2013 with 174 people as samples. The method used is descriptive analysis. The research showed implemention of KRPL program in Pelalawan regency accepted Rp 47.000.000. The coast was spent for environment industry like the source of food or cattle and fish. Developing KRPL program is used by doing 9 steps based on technical guidline of KRPL. The steps are preparation, making grup, socialization, group institution strength, planning activities, coaching implementation, budgeting, monitoring and evaluating. The characteristic of innovation, communication channels, agent of change, characteristic farmers and farmers habit which categorized good with score 3,75, 3,41, 3,53, 3,72, but community leaders which categorized enough (score 3,34). Overall the implementation of KRPL program is welldone because it was supported by program innovation is suitable with farmers needed, there was agent of change help the socialization and communication which is suitable with the role of society and farmers.
