Abstract

Heat wasted due to radiation from the flame around the LPG stovecan lower stove efficiency. The wasted heat would be exploited by using a finned heat reflector . The working principle of this tool is to capture the wasted heat  and reflect to the load so that it becomes useful energy . Preliminary data indicate that areflector without fins can increase stove efficiency., The objective of this research isto determine the performace finned heat reflectorin increasing LPG stove  efficiency. A piece of stainless steel plate as a truncated cone-shaped finned experimental model was used as a reflector. The efficiency test is done through  boiling water test. The number of fin of the the same dimensions were varied, starting from one-line to three-line fins. The performance of the stoves using reflectorwith fins were compared with that of stove using reflector without finsand with that of stove without reflectot. Based on test results, it is found that the use of finned reflectors is able to increase the efficiency of LPG stoves. The highest efficiency is obtained on the use of reflectors with three rows of fins, which amounted to 44.09%. The magnitude of the increase is compared to without using a reflector at 5.22%, while compared with the reflector without fins for 5.01%. Based on the test of temperature distribution is obtained also that the use of reflector finned heat radiation can increase the area of complete combustion.

Abstract

Telah dilaksanakan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa kegiatan Iptek bagi Masyarakat Pokmas Maisyah Kelurahan Tonatan Kecamatan Kota Kabupaten Ponorogo. Kelompok masyarakat (Pokmas). Maisyah berdiri sejak tahun 2012 di Kelurahan Tonatan Kecamatan Kota Kabupaten Ponorogo. Kelompok ini beranggotakan 11 kepala keluarga yang sebagian besar anggotanya adalah petani. Anggota Pokmas ini selain sebagai petani juga memiliki usaha peternakan kambing. Permasalahan yang dihadapi adalah belum adanya alat pencacah rumput yang dibutuhkan untuk proses penyediaan pakan. Program ini difokuskan pada pengadaan alat pencacah rumput sebagai bahan dasar pakan ternak. Teknologi tepat guna berupa alat pencacah rumput yang dirancang mampu berproduksi dengan kapasitas 110 kg/jam. Pelaksanaan program ini telah berhasil membantu meningkatkan proses produksi pakan ternak di Pokmas Maisyah. Sebagai tindak lanjut perlu dilakukan pelatihan lanjutan tentang pembuatan pakan fermentasi dan manajemen pengelolaan proyek penggemukan kambing

Abstract

Lebih dari tiga per empat kebutuhan energi dunia masih dipenuhi bahan bakar fosil. Minyak tetap menjadi tulang punggung, dengan konsumsi sebanyak 85 juta barrel minyak per hari pada tahun 2016. Kebutuhan manusia akan energi semakin meningkat seiring dengan keberhasilan pembangunan yang dilaksanakan. Hal ini juga berarti kebutuhan akan daya listrik juga meningkat. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari semakin banyaknya rumah dan apartemen yang menggunakan AC maka tidak sedikit pula AC yang sudah rusak dan komponen tersebut bayak yang dibuang dan dirosokan. Dengan menfaatkan komponen AC yang sudah rusak salah satunya evaporator pada AC yang dipanaskan menggunakan tenaga surya dapat memanaskan air, kita dapat menghemat konsumsi listrik dan gas untuk kebutuhan rumah tangga. Hasil dari pengujian alat pemanas air evaporator AC didapat hasil terbaik air pemanas dengan temperatur rata-rata sebesar 51,42 °C, dalam waktu pukul 09:00-15:30 WIB sebesar 105 Liter air panas. Untuk kebutuhan mandi orang dewasa 45°C maka perlu penambahan air suhu normal sebesar 52,5 Liter dan untuk anak-anak suhu yang dibutuhkan 40 °C maka penambahan air sebesar 105 liter suhu air normal.

Abstract

A locomotive is one of critical part in train set, because a locomotive had to bear a big load and has operational time which long enough. So in a locomotive design required more in depth analysis compared to the other means of transportation. The purpose of this research is to make a design locomotive carbody according to those standards applied and analyze stress happened to carbody locomotive designed. In the design of this to analyze carbody locomotive construction strength, the analysis are done using finite element methode(FEM) with help of Ansys software. The simulation of loads working on the structure was made approaching the real loading. Structure of locomotive carbody should be able to hold the loads working on carbody construction. From the design results locomotive carbody that have been made, this locomotive carbody sized length 19000 mm, width 2790 mm, and high 3700 mm. Materials that used for the locomotive carbody design isSS 400 and SM 490A with Yield stress of 245 MPa dan 325 MPa. The analysis results received a value of von mises stress maximum of 195,429 MPa that occurs at the part of the end of underframe (end center sill), where the sress value are still below of Yield stress materials which are in the form of SM 490 at 325 MPa. From the analysis result suggests that overall locomotive carbody structure can be expressed as safe and able to hold the loads operational.

Abstract

Replacing a standard piston with a dome piston can make changes to the performance of a 4 stroke combustion engine, this is due to the change in the compression ratio being larger, thus requiring fuel that contains a high octane number in order to get maximum combustion results. In the process of researching the piston which was originally raw in a convex shape, which aims to increase the compression ratio, changes that occur in engine performance can be observed from the test data in the test dyno. The results of the discussion or test on the effect of ethanol-fueled piston dome surface reconstruction on the performance of a 108cc 4 stroke engine with a standard piston diameter of 50 mm flat surface and a dome piston with a diameter of 51.5 mm convex surface which produces a compression ratio of 16.855 / 1 with the use of fuel. ethhanol fuel, it can be concluded that the maximum performance of a 4 stroke combustion engine is obtained in an engine that uses a dome piston with a power gain of 8.8 HP, which is an increase of 27% from an engine that uses a standard piston, and a torque of 7.79 Nm, which is an increase of about 9% from a standard piston engine. standard piston engine.

Abstract

Plastic oil is the result of the conversion of plastic waste into fuel oil. The use of plastic waste oil is not directly at 100% use, but it is necessary to have the right dose so that it can be used as a mixture. The method used in this study is experimental research, namely several variations that are carried out successively to the same subject and determine the performance and exhaust emissions on a motorcycle with a mixture of Pertamax and plastic oil and has a CP10 code (pertamax 90% + plastic oil). 10%), CP20 (pertamax 80% + plastic oil 20%), and CP30 (firstmax 70% + plastic oil 30%). The results of all tests of the highest torque occurred in the CP30 mixture of 14,593 Nm at 3000 rpm and the highest power results in the CP30 mixture of 7.1 Kw at 5000 rpm. In the test results the best CO exhaust emissions occurred in the CP10 mixture with emission levels of 1.69% at 5500 rpm while the best HC exhaust emission test results are in the CP10 mixture, which is 81 ppm at 5500 rpm. The lower the CO and HC exhaust gas emission levels, the more efficient the fuel and the more complete combustion.

Abstract

This research aims to know the strength of the connection as well as welding heat input current in connection with welding method using the method exsperimen. This research using a variation on the current 40 A, 50 A and the A 60 with material using SMAW welding technique of stainless steel 201. The results obtained from the test data and test pull rockwel violence showed the presence of the influence of the use of violence against the current and voltage drop of the welding connection. The larger the flow used will be the bigger value is also violence and its voltage, but at 60 A stream of violence and its voltage decline. Rockwell hardness test results for the area of las who have the highest violence are contained in the current 50 A of 73.60 HRB and the lowest at 40 A with flow of 63.6 HRB. As for the pull-test results with the flow that gets the results of voltage drop on average the highest found in the current 50 A of 0.711 kN/mm 2 and to pull the average voltage low current is present on 60 A of 0.5199 kN/mm2.

Abstract

Biomassa merupakan bahan alami yang biasanya dianggap sebagai limbah dan sering dimusnakan dengan cara dibakar. arang adalah hasil pembakaran bahan yang mengandung karbon yang terbentuk padat dan berpori. Briket arang adalah arang yang diolah lebih lanjut menjadi bentuk briket (penampilan dan kemasan yang menarik) yang digunakan untuk keperluan energi sehari-hari. Nilai kalor yang paling besar dan tinggi nilai kalornya terdapat pada briket tempurung kelapa dengan rata-rata 6971,866 kal/gram. Pada kadar abu terendah terdapat pada briket asam dengan kadar abu 0,41%. Pada kadar air nilai kadar air terendah terdapat pada briket asam dengan rata-rata 5,1795%. Kadar zat menguap yang paling rendah nilai zat yng menguap terdapat pada persamaan briket johar dengan rata-rata 21,718%.

Abstract

Cases of motor vehicle theft are still common in the environment around us. The main cause is the knowledge of criminals, the dominant motorcycle security system is the same in every other motorcycle unit that uses a steering handlebar safety lock. Therefore the need for additional safety systems is felt very necessary to avoid motor vehicle theft. From the four tests conducted, the level of accuracy of location scanning by GPS experienced a difference in each test, this is due to the strength of the network received by the GPS device between the two devices, both from the researchers' GPS device and the GPS device attached to the vehicle unit, decreasing the relative accuracy between 6.8% and 17% in testing. The speed of response of the safety device is very dependent on the signal strength and the place where the vehicle or vehicle owner is owned by each provider, from the test delay calls are 3,2 seconds results,it was concluded that TELKOMSEL providers who have a more stable network.This is evidenced by the difference in the time of receipt of the response of vehicle safety devices when testing telephone delay calls and GPS testing. Abstract

Tuna Daksa is a term for individuals who have lost or incomplete body parts that can be seen with the naked eye. One solution to help people with physical disabilities in carrying out daily activities in the field of transportation. Modification of motorized vehicles often lacks safety, especially when used on curvy roads due to lack of balance, so that it is overcome by modifying motorized vehicles using the one-wheel pull method. This method is used to adjust the balance of wheel rotation when turning a corner, and is equipped with parts that can support comfort in its use. The main parameter in this research is the analysis of the spindles and the components of the tools used. The material used to design the axle with bending load only is JIS E4502 class 4 carbon steel qwb = 60 kg/mm and its elongation limit is 30 kg/mm. The feasibility of the design of the modification of the tool is based on the results of research from the calculation that the diameter of the calculation results is above 17 mm, very safe to use and more than 1 mm with the previous diameter of 16 mm.
